Piling, master head, anchor, or dock lantern/ ... morelight. I am not sure of the proper name or use for this lantern. Can you inform me? It measures 17 ½” tall. The bottom is 8” in diameter, the top is 7 ½” in diameter, the lens is 4 ¾” tall(the exposed portion) and the lens is approx 5” in diameter. The lens is a dark ruby red and I see no cracks or chips. The body is galvanized metal with the rings. Latching hardware and the top ring of bottom portion being made of brass. There is a makers mark on the inside but some is missing and I cannot tell by what I can read who the maker is. Do you know? I assume that it was battery operated but there is no battery or wiring that is visible. I did not take the top portion apart and do not know if there is a bulb inside. The one photo that shows the lens bright was held up to the sun. The lantern is in good overall condition with some oxidation and rust as shown. The rubber gasket and other rubber pieces are inside but in poor condition(see photos) Please look at the photos carefully to see what is included. The lantern/ lamp is untested. SOLID BRASS HEAVY SHIP LIGHT WITH GLASS DOME EXPLOSION PROOF TYPE
This auction is for one very heavy Solid Brass Ship Light With A Glass Dome. It is an explosive proof light but it does not currently have any rubber seals in it. It is 8 1/2" tall. 6 3/4" deep and 4 1/2" wide. It weighs over 5 lbs. It has a receptacle that is designed to accept a twist-lock type bulb. I suppose it could be retrofitted for a different type of bulb. It has a brass cage that unscrews and a glass dome. The only markings on it is 60 W. It has part of a wire protruding from one side. Extremely Rare Brass 1928-34 Dee-Wite Red/Blue Boat Bow Light Glass Lens
A very rare near impossible to find Dee-Wite bow light from between 1928 to 1934. In very good solid non-restored condition with no damage. Made to hold a flag pole. Glass lens are near perfect except a tiny nibble on the blue lens that you cant see in the pictures. I believe originally this was nickle plated but all the nickle plate has been rubbed off. A few traces can still be seen here and there. There is no wiring and this is just the brass housing with red and blue lens. Measures 7 1/8 inches long at the base and stands 3 3/4 inches tall. An absolute must have to finish your Dee-Wite restoration or just to add to your collection. I have not to found another up for sale. I can only find them still on a Dee Wite Runabout. This is a very unique Maritime item. It's brass light with 5 sided glass. They had filaments of green and red. Port and Starboard are on the light. As you can see the colors had brittle. I cant find any maker on the light. It is 13" tall and around 25" around from the thickest section 9" Diameter. A great piece to have. Needs a good cleaning and polish. Please see pictures.

Brass and Glass Antique Oil Lantern British Captain's Chief 1935 Fully Functions
This is one remarkable piece of history. It works too! This brass Captain's lantern for a ship was made in 1935. We have been assured this is the real deal. It has the oil lamp piece that comes out so you can maintain it then right back for those long trips on the sea. This is called the Chief light from Great Britain. It is a great size about 1 foot 3-4 inches high(guessing- it's not in front of me) Very sturdy with the strength bars all around and the glass is all good. This was very well maintained. The latch has been worn off so it closes with a wire loop. This is one I'd love to keep but business is business. With everything so dependant on electricity it would be a great idea to have some back up light that is proven and will last a while. Wish you the best.

Vintage Brass Kerosene Gimbal Ships Lamp Here is a great older brass lantern I found during my recent travels in northern Michigan. This beautiful lamp has a gimbal mount and a weighted base. It is self-leveling during movement over water. It appears that it has been polished but it still has a nice warm patina. The glass chimney is very nice with just a small"blob" on the upper rim. There is no wick but the adjuster works smoothly. The base is heavily weighted for stability when sitting on a table. Antique Brass Two Color Boat Lantern Found in upstate New York. I am told that this is a lantern from the barges that they used on the Erie Canal. The lantern has a flat back and a rounded glass shade in the front. The glass is divided in the middle by a brass shield that extends from the front of the lantern- one side is colored green, the other side red, I guess to signal whether you were coming or going. On the top is a nice decorated piece that has little cut out heart shapes and a ring handle. On the bottom, there is a flap that can fold out showing the inside burner. The burner can be removed for filling and has wick with a turning knob. The lantern is in good antique condition, the glass is intact it is ready to display. Original tarnished patina. Up for auction is an original George Carpenter& Co Solid Brass Nautical Lantern With Glass Working. This is an original early 1900's Nautical Lantern. Originally this lamp was probably carried on the deck of a ship as it has a handle for carrying. It was also probably an oil lamp converted to electric at a later date. The lamp works perfectly well with the socket. Has a nice warm glow that radiates from behind the glass. It is approximately 10 inches tall and about 4" inches wide. The brass still has its original aged patina and has not been cleaned. It may have also at one time had a bottom piece that held oil. The glass itself has a few chips in it and a crack but most assuredly isn't going to break in the near future as it's extremely thick. It still displays very nicely. The center cap in the top flips up and it also opens at the base of the top as well. There is an oil lamp inside that does have the wick. In the center there is a very thick ribbed glass lens that has no cracks. There is a brass anchor hook on the top and the bottom. No dents, nice vintage condition. There is a decent size dent on the slightly-domed top(please see photos) The side of the light is marked with Perko's logo and company info. Being made in Brooklyn,NY. My guess as to age would be from around the 1930s or 40s. It could be even earlier-back into the 20s or so- but I'm not certain. The glass is in good condition. This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

I have not taken it a part. The original cloth cover wire extends from the bottom. There is no damage to the brass pole. I do not know exactly what this came off. Here's a neat vintage item with red glass on one side and green on the other.several small chips. I believe it is brass. see photos for a better condition insight. It is dented on back of lamp and missing one screw. it appears to be adjustable. I have not truly cleaned this item. The base is almost 4 1/2" in diameter and is stamped. S&J. This is STEELE& JOHNSON(boat,house) I'm not sure what year it was made(30's,40's? although it is from an old estate. the height is about 7" at that angle. I don't know if it could be wired?
