Antique large copper ship’s lantern needs cleaning
My friend is finally clearing out her sheds in an effort to downsize. Her in-laws. Now passed, were prominent figures in the folk-art world, and her family has traveled extensively, so she has many years and two households of fine objets d’art to go through. I selected some of the better pieces to offer the eBay community. Her home and mine are smoke-free, and mine is pet-free too. This is a big nautical oil lantern. Made of copper to resist salt water corrosion. ... moreAll original parts. It was in the cellar of a home that flooded during Hurricane Irene here in Vermont, and is full of silt. I rinsed off the outside just enough to show what it is, but am not qualified to clean it thoroughly. The door slides down within guides. And you can see the loop and tab that secure it. It has a large reservoir, glass chimney, and the domed top opens smoothly. The label is soldered on, and has worn enough that I cannot quite make out the image– two horses, a standing figure with reins, maybe flanked by two seated figures, on a carriage indicated by a curving line– no wheels. When this is shined up it will be spectacular. The“buy it now” is low because it needs cleaning. But this is a showpiece.

Anchor Ships Lantern(Not a Reproduction) This is a very large antique ships lantern marked as"Anchor" To the best of my knowledge it has all parts needed to burn oil. Please view pictures to augment my description. It is not electrified and it is NOT a reproduction. Lamp measures a stately 23" to top of handle. 18" tall without handle and at its widest a 10" diameter. With the exception of a dent in the brass at the base the lantern is in excellent condition. Lantern inner chimney has a couple of chips and a crack at the bottom where it sits in base. This can be easily replace but I beleive that this one is original so I will not replace. Awesome nautical historical item. I am not an expert on oil lanterns but will do my best to answer questions. This lamp came from an estate in lower Delaware near the beach. The larger lantern is 19 1/2 inches height with base diameter of 9 3/4 inches. The smaller lantern measures 15 inches height and base diameter 9 inches. Both have discoloration from age. Some rust. Dings and the typical things you see with these old lanterns. The smaller lantern has a chip on the glass and chimney is missing. Just found them from a Bucks County Pennsylvania estate. Really nice solid brass weather/shockproof Bow light. Red lens. Green lens, and a black back. No wiring. Very heavy, probably 12 to 14 lbs. In excellent condition, painted Battleship gray sometime in the past. Has brass fitting on the bottom that obviously screwed to a mount at the bow. Very nice ships collectable and hard to come by. These are much more rare. Glass is unmarked but in great undamaged condition! Old 20th Century Antique Russell& Stoll Co Port Ship Lantern Light Boat Marine Red glass appears to be solid. Lantern shows age and use. Plate on inside has Russell& Stoll co stamp. Stands 23 1/2" tall to top of hanger. About 14" wide head on. Top is bent in. I have seen others with the same thing on them and believe it was purposely bent like that to fit on the ships they were used on since its not only this one I've seen like that. Don't know much about item but it may have been customized. Has not been tested but definately could be made to work with some retro fitting by someone who knows what they are doing. Up for auction is a pair of 2 antique Maritime passageway heavy brass/bronze ship lights with cobalt blue glass globes with sliding doors and a handle for hanging. There are doors that slide on the lamp to open and close the cobalt blue glass globe. The base is all heavy brass/bronze and has a threaded top with moveable handle. On the top of the lamp it has a threaded fitting marked. 9-S-5010-L Type XXII Size B. The threaded top of the light has 9-S-2108-L. There is a gasket with washer and light socket inside, so changing the bulb is very easy. The cobalt blue globe is very heavy, please check pictures and measures 4 ½” diameter x 5” long with rounded bottom. On the rim of the cobalt blue globe it has Type H 2034 L P.G. Co. There are no chips or cracks on the globe. Underneath on the top ring it has 2099-L-3 and on the bottom section ... moreis 2099-L-4. The heavy base contains the sliding door to open and close. The bottom panel also opens and closes. With handle up the lamp stands 11 ¼” tall and the base is 5 ½” diameter. Both lamps have the same numbers and are identical. Huge 22" copper Masthead Maritime Ship Lantern Oil burner nautical antique This is a big piece. Measuring 22" tall(not including handle) width of about 11" The piece is painted but as far as I can tell the most or possibly the entirety of the piece is made of copper. The lantern is a forward facing type with mounting rings on each side, an access door on the back an a top hatch that looks down into from the chimney above. Inside the back hatch, the burner assembly is on a track and is removable. It appears to be an oil/kerosene burner with a large reflector. The glass globe appears to be intact. There are three attached metal labels or tags on the front. I will try to decipher them for you, due to age and paint there are partially legible. Extremely nice old ship light. Electric and probably from early 1900's. I got this approx. 50 years ago. The galvanized finish was deteriorating. Instead of spray painting. I had it brass plated. Still looks good- can always paint. Made by Lovell. Arlington, NJ which is on the screw on brass lid. Lens is in very good condition. Approx. 13 1/2" high- base 9 1/2" wide- weighs approx. 12 lbs.

Here is a Large 8 inch tall RED LENSE REAL GLASS marked Corning on glass Nautical SHIP. DOCK, or PIER Nautical Light. This 8 inch tall lamp has a 3 1/2 inch tall RED glass bezile lense, There are only a couple of specs on the glass that appears to be in very good condition NO CRACKS. The base is 6 inches across and the light is very heavy duty. Not sure if it is military as it appears to be somewhat grey in coloring. There is a number 9-S 4473-L in raised lettering on top. There is a 64 inch heavy duty cord with some type of plug in socket end see photo 5. Not sure if from a ship, dock or pier. Not sure if it works or what type of power supply it used. Suppose it could be rewired. REALLY NICE CONDITION VINTAGE NAUTICAL PIECE. Not sure if it could have been from the RAILROAD? You can see some type of bracket that goes 1/2 way around photos ... more6 and 12. This bracket is uniformed to end exactly 1/2 way around not sure if for mounting on a ship or dock. For sale is a vintage/antique brass and copper maritime ship's lantern made by Anchor in England. It's in great shape. Obviously used and showing normal wear and tear with lots of patina. The lantern has been retrofitted with an electrical ceramic light socket although it does not come with a cord. Beautiful globe- would be a wonderful light fixture for any collector or nautical buff. Antique Nautical Maritime Brass Ship Cargo Kerosene Lamp Lantern Vintage Heavy
This lantern is approximately 5.5" x 5.5" x 14.5" and weighs almost 6 lbs. All glass in intact with no cracks. It has a wedge burner. I have not tried to use it. It has been used in the past as there is soot at the top. Please see pictures for further condition. It appears shinier in the pictures than it really is. I have not cleaned it or polished it.

The older piece has very heavy obvious use wear throughout metal is smooth no ridges left. Both have wear are dirty and tarnished throughout. Both weigh 1 pound 14 ounces each so a good copy I would say. Could also be 2nd piece was handled less but my though its a copy. The bases are exact underneath so maybe just a replaced ball and stem holder.

This brass hanging bulkhead ship's lantern is a rare example of the workmanship and quality of Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. Birmingham, England, one of the largest and finest nautical lighting manufacturers at the turn of the 20th century. Dating to around 1900, the lantern has a detachable kerosene burner and hand-blown font. Except for the wick, everything on the lantern is original. Measuring 17 inches tall. Excluding the ring handle. The lantern is marked with a plaque on the domed top. It reads, Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. 121 Bishop Street, Birmingham. It is substantial. Weighing over 5 pounds. Antique Brass Nautical Ship's Lantern with Vintage Patina
Lamps are. For the most part, boring creatures. They are quite useful for reassuring yourself that there are, in fact, no murderous clowns hidden in your guest room, but when it comes to design, your standard, run of the mill lamp can be a bit yawn-inducing. VINTAGE ANTIQUE PORT & STERN OLD SHIP LANTERNS
These are two ship lanterns my father-in-law had in is liquor store during the 1950's in Santa Barbara California that was close to the beach. They were old when he got them. They appear to be hand made. The height is 12 inches to the seam that is before the top. The height to the handle on top is approxmately 16" The front is 14 1/2 inches in circumference Each side is 9 1/2 inches across. It is 14 1/2 inches across the top. The red lantern weighs almost 12 pound and the other 9 pounds. They are dirty and the Blue lantern's glass has been broken and repaired. ~~RARE Antique PERKO Brass Marine Maritime Nautical Ship Lanterns Finger Lamps~~
I have a pair of rare vintage brass Perko marine ship's lamps or lanterns. They used to be kerosene or oil but were converted to electric. They are in wonderful shape with no dents or damage and everything is intact. they do however have wear that is consistent with age. Each lantern has a finger lamp inside that is removable as shown in the pictures. A 4 inch reflector/ mirror, and 3 glass panels. Each is also stamped with a brass tag that reads" PERKO Manufacturer's Reg. Trademark Perkin's Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. Miami Florida USA" on the front and another stamp on the back that reads the same thing. They both measure almost 14" tall. one being about 1/4" taller than the other one. You can definitely tell that these gems were handmade. These are very cool nautical decorations or gifts!

Super rare. Get it before it's gone! I have a beautiful. Pristine, antique brass marine ship light fixture. Dates before 1910 when they no longer had raised lettering on the glass globe. It's been wired for electric but there if no really alterations from that alteration, I just has a single wire through the top. NO CRACKS, DENTS or RUST. This is just in great condition! 19 inches tall! I have not seen any of these with the milky glass. Only clear and red glass. These are referred to as"onion" due to the globe.
