Telford Grier& Mackay 1915 Glasgow Ship Lantern 22-1/2" Tall Antique? I do not know much history on this lantern. Not sure of the exact date, or if it was used on the actual ship. It appears to be from the 1910's, by the inscription that is on the front of the lantern reading: Telford Grier& Mackay Glasgow 1915. There is also an inscription on the back reading Telford Grier& Mackay Glasgow 1916 Physically appears to be in good condition. Has patina on the metal, some minor scratches and dings No cracks in the thick glass that I can see. The lantern measures 22-1/2" tall without the handle and 27" tall with handle extended up. Approximately 10-1/2" from front to back and 15" from side to side at the widest points. Whole thing weighs just over 27 lbs and will weigh around 32 with packing materials. As seen in attached photos Up for auction is a authentic ship's lantern from Japan. White light made by the Sento Company LTD. The label carries several sets of numbers. 582 B899 32 12 Also. The glass itself is marked in white with"1796" Electrical fittings have been tested and work perfectly. Add a light bulb and use as a lamp. Or copper tubing could easily be removed. The electric fitting was a later addition and is secured through the bottom with three small screws. Piece measures 33cm(13" tall without the handle and 24 cm across the base. Here's a great old Dietz marine lantern in excellent condition. See Condition. From my research I believe it's circa 1917-1918. It's a dark lantern. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. The sheath has numerous cracks around it(as most do) and is difficult to push back down(thus, no photos of it) Size is 11 1/4" tall x about 6 3/4" across the bottom. Aside from a few minor dings I can't find any fault with this lantern. If you know old lanterns, you'll most likely conclude, as I did, that it has much less wear than one would expect. Vintage Antique Durkee Marine Galvinized Huge Ship Lantern Staten Island NY
Very Large Vintage Antique Ship's Lantern Old estate find. This is a very large lantern made by Durkee Marine Products of Staten Island, NY. It is made of an old galvanized metal. With an iron folding handle on the top. The handle has a loop for hanging. There is a large round shade, and a heavy thick glass shade. The lantern is flat in the back where it looks like it would be mounted. Somewhere along the way. Someone decided to electrify the lantern. There is an electric cord that comes out through the top and a light fixture inside. The cord has a plug and a switch. The bottom piece that I guess was the oil tank at one time has a cut out opening that is used to access the light bulb. There is some wear to the finish as you would expect with the age, and there is the opening in the bottom. Lantern measures 26" tall to the top of ... morethe handle. For your consideration. A J.Vogels-Boon Fabricants copper and brass ships signal lamp with a Fresnel lens, and original oil burner. This is a rare beauty in both availability and condition. The lamp measures 18 tall to the top of the handle, and 10 inches deep to the back of the handle. The signal lamp operates by depressing the side lever to open the inside brass door in front of the oil lamp, emiting a brief burst of light to the next ship. RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. Antique Wilcox Crittenden Galvinzed Nautical Ship Lantern
Beautiful old antique maritime nautical ship lantern. Punch out design is indicative of Wilcox. Crittendon being the manufacturer. Glass has no cracks or chips. Bronze colored chimney is intact with no bends or and only very slight dings. Metal top ring is still in place. Most lanterns of this sort are missing the rings. Punch out design along the chimney is really cool. The zinc galvanizing, applied to protect the metal from rust has done it's jump. This lantern was likely subjected to sprays of salt water but shows very little sign of rusting. The only exception are the hinges on the bottom plate that were not galvanized but still work perfectly. There is no burner in this lantern but add one and it is ready to go. Antique "Viking" Ship Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp Kerosene Lantern
Vintage Viking Kerosene anchor light. Not sure of the age but not antique. I see other Viking brand lanterns listed as true antiques but I don't believe they are or that this one is. Everything works. It stands 15" tall. 6 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" wide. The glass is all in good condition. No dents, breaks or flaws that I can see. The material seems to be all brass except the rolled edges and corners are brass rolled over a steel rod. This lantern is dirty and needs cleaning but i will leave that up to the purchaser, I am selling as found. This will make a beautiful display or actually use it! Antique ' Perko De-Lite ' Nautical Marine Ship Lantern, Brass Front
I have for auction this Antique' Perko De-Lite' Nautical Marine Ship Lantern. From what I have been able to find out this lantern was both electric an oil and this one does not have its oil burner but does have its electric light complete with cord. Nice lantern with brass front and nice Perko De-Lite brass tag on back. Shine the brass up and I believe this would be a fantastic nautical décor piece.

Antique 9" Brass Kerosene Lantern Hand E Miller USA Simplex Burner Ship?
Vintage unmarked 9" high brass lantern has a brass carry handle(makes it 9-3/4" high) to carry or to hang it, and a small Simplex kerosene burner with E Miller USA wick advance adjustment knob which works. The removable fount does not have a refill cap. And I have not been able to remove the wick top for refill. Buyer should assume that may not be able to remove. We have not tried WD40. Etc, or maybe I do not know how to remove the top. This is a cylinder shape. App 3" diameter across the base. No dents or dings, there are a very few small signs of use, on little mark on the lid, this has been a display piece for many years. This little solid brass lamp has a glazed hinged door glass app 2-1/2" high by 2-1/4" wide. Looks original, and there are 30+ small holes punched in the base for draft, There is an adjustable ... moretop that screws up and down to act as a damper. The door has a sliding pin closure. Hinge has no problems. Not sure what this was used for: maritime for a ship binnacle light. Early automobile? Neat little lantern in very nice shape. Lots of Photos! Antique Wilcox Crittenden Ship Lamp Lantern with Original Burner
Nice galvanized metal ship lamp made in Middleton. CT by Wilcox Crittenden. Lamp has rust along the base with no holes, and the metal is uneven in color due to oxidization with age. Glass is in great condition as well as the burner. Measures: 24" tall, 30.5" around base, 9.75" across base, 32" around the center, and 14" around base under the hanging hook.

Antique Marine~Harbor~Ship Lantern-Lamp~Unmarked Electric Lamp
I am not an expert to this type nautical maritime lamp. I will try my best to describe this lamp. Don't see any marking. Stand 8" in high and about 5" widest from handle to handle. Lamp is rounded, electric,complete with the thick glass cover. I am thinking that this lamp was possibly use along the harbor. The metal casing is intact and possibly brass/copper? This is a beautiful copper and brass kerosine anchor light with a nice aged patina. It is in is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks or missing parts. All parts are made with heavy gauge copper and brass. The lens is thick heavy glass. You can see some small air bubbles inside the glass) This is truly a quality lamp that will last for many years. My father and I used this lamp on our many sailing trips on the Great Lakes and inland lakes in Minnesota. The dimensions are 10 and 1/2 inches high by 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter. Antique Authentic Red Port-Side Ship Lantern/Lamp, Nice
This ship lantern has red lens which is in good shape; no noted chips or cracks. The bottom opens where the"oil lamp" was kept. This antique lantern has not been restored; rather. It is in its natural state after many years of use. The lantern is likely handmade/handcrafted and I would say it is from the early 20th century. I believe it is made of tinned iron and brass. The original brass oil/kerosene burner is in great original condition. I am unsure whether this lantern is a Perko marine lamp; it is unmarked from what I could determine. The port-side light was likely used on small river and harbor craft such as water taxis or tug boats. It measures approximately 10.25" in height to the top of the ring; 6" in width at the widest point; and, 4.5" in depth. The lantern is shaped to fit in a corner; there is a hanging ... moremount on one rear side. Please look at the photos I have attached. First is that it was used on a railway train lantern or train bridge signal light. They other response I got was that it was a ship's signal light or used for navigation through fog. Burner stamped THE NATIONAL MARINE LAMP CO. metal plate on the flat back side has a patent date of APRIL 1ST 1913. 10" tall to the top of the ring on top, 4 3/4" wide, 4 1/2" deep, galvanized metal. The burner is rusted through and is missing one of two metal tabs that held it in place. The metal lantern shows areas of surface rust but is solid and not flimsy in any way, ding on the cupola where the ring is mounted, both pieces of glass in good condition. It would be simple to electrify or even easier to place a battery op light inside and enjoy the colored glass. Antique Military Naval Ship Boat Lantern Light 5293-L-5 USS Savannah
This is a WWII US Naval Ship USS Savannah gray battle lantern. It is in the same condition as it was when it was on the ship. There are scuffs in the paint in some spots exhibiting minimal wear and there is also original dust/dirt adding great patina to the lantern. Some of the dirt and scuffs appear as scratches but are not. Some screws are missing from the top(see photo) but the ones that are there hold the lid on very tightly. There are no dents or dings.except for below the hanging bracket where it came in contact with the hangar. These are minimal. Overall in great shape for over 70 years old! The yellow lens is not cracked or broken and there is a bulb in the light base. The diameter of the lens is 3 3/4 inches. The overall height of the lantern is 10 inches including the handle. Markings on the lantern are as follows: Handle-5293-L-5 Lens cover-5293-L-4 Side of lantern-5293-L-1 It was definitely from the USS Savannah from the late'30's to'40's since the man we got it from was retired Navy serving on that ship and acquired the lamp prior to the ship's overhall. It was never taken apart since I have it so I am not sure if it works. It is truly a a piece of World War II history. Thanks for your interest.

Rare Antique Helvig kerosene ship's compass binnacle lantern circa 1880
Plate on back of this brass lantern reads: H.A.J. Helvig& Co. Manufacturers New York" It is 8" H& 3 1/2 W across front. Helvig did a great business. With lanterns, in 1800's but finding a similar lantern is rare. Some years ago, I found one that was referred to as a Whale oil lantern w/handles for carrying, 1845. Value placed on it was 2,500. Then I placed a note inside the lantern w/that info, but today I can't remember if it was just the same, though today I think that year may have been earlier than when my family sailed. I believe that it was used in about mid to late 1800's. I have used as a decoration for at least 50 years. Nothing has been added to it, so I believe it is all original, but not sure if it had been done before I inherited it in 1962. The glass globe is pretty shinny, so maybe not original, ... morealso has an unused wick. I occasionally, through the year, gave it a slight polish to highlight the brass luster, but untouched for past 20 years. The back of the top part(neck) has some brass missing from it's thin collar. Visible on 2nd picture. The top round has some old dings, the name plaque has lifted. Basically, there are some dings and nicks overall, but nothing major for a working tool. Well enjoyed, but must part with it.please ask your questions before bidding, as once sold I do not want to take it back. Well unless misrepresented.
