Lantern has maker marks of"S.Co.Ltd. 1941" Im not sure if this is a ship lantern, railway lantern or what- I dont know much about these. Lantern is in great condition and all pieces seem to be there. Lantern measures 20" tall with handle extended up. The wick key is attached to side and wick turn knob works good. No broken glass on paynes and side door works good. Lantern has alot of brass polish residue that needs to be cleaned up. Lantern also has a wall hanging bracket on back. Please see all the photos and judge for yourself. Thanks and happy bidding.

This brass hanging bulkhead ship's lantern is a rare example of the workmanship and quality of Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. Birmingham, England, one of the largest and finest nautical lighting manufacturers at the turn of the 20th century. Dating to around 1900, the lantern has a detachable kerosene burner and hand-blown font. Except for the wick, everything on the lantern is original. Measuring 17 inches tall. Excluding the ring handle. The lantern is marked with a plaque on the domed top. It reads, Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. 121 Bishop Street, Birmingham. It is substantial. Weighing over 5 pounds. Antique Brass Ship's Light Contains correct and highly sought after cobalt blue globe. A rare find. Cord including on/off switch is in good shape. Works as it should. Globe has chip to the lip that sits between the housing and lid. This chip is not visible when lid is on and light is lit. Both sliding doors(front/bottom) are present which makes this an even rarer find. It stands 12 inches high with about a 6 inch diameter. Estate sale find. This is a heavy duty water proof ships navigational Blue lamp. It's 9 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide and the mount on the bottom is 7 1/2" across. The glass is deep blue and has some chips but no cracks. This would make a great lamp or art project. Made of brass and iron. A gimbal allows something that contains liquid to self level in a situation such as a ship where the floor would not remain horizontal, something you would appreciate especially with a lamp holding flammable fuel. There is an old wick coming out of the burner side, and a thumbscrew that will open the filling space. The gimbal is made of iron, a gracefully curved heavy bar that would have been placed into a hole in a post drilled to hold a lamp such as this. The lamp itself is made of brass, made to withstand heavy duty use. When you remove the thumbscrew, the plate on the top will lift off with the wick. We could not find another example like this one so we are calling it rare. What a great chance to obtain something that would have been vitally useful in its time, but is a relic now that predates the electric light bulb. For your consideration. A J.Vogels-Boon Fabricants copper and brass ships signal lamp with a Fresnel lens, and original oil burner. This is a rare beauty in both availability and condition. The lamp measures 18 tall to the top of the handle, and 10 inches deep to the back of the handle. The signal lamp operates by depressing the side lever to open the inside brass door in front of the oil lamp, emiting a brief burst of light to the next ship. Vintage Viking Kerosene anchor light. Not sure of the age but not antique. I see other Viking brand lanterns listed as true antiques but I don't believe they are or that this one is. Everything works. It stands 15" tall. 6 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" wide. The glass is all in good condition. No dents, breaks or flaws that I can see. The material seems to be all brass except the rolled edges and corners are brass rolled over a steel rod. This lantern is dirty and needs cleaning but i will leave that up to the purchaser, I am selling as found. This will make a beautiful display or actually use it! This globe is marked Perko No. 1 as well. On the top cover it is marked"PERKO" and"bow" with an arrow, and on the bottom it is marked perko, along with the number 1169-74-8. The globe is cracked at the bottom as can be seen in the photos, will need a new globe. This is a very unique and rare lamp. This light is still in great condition I will ship world wide.
