This is wired for electricity but I don't know if it is original wiring or was rewired or what. To be honest. I haven't plugged it in to test whether it works or not. Either. Antique Peter Gray Maritime Nautical Red Globe Anchor Lantern Light Great Lakes?
Just out of a local house is this antique Maritime Ships lamp. It was made by Peter Gray around 1890 or perhaps earlier. The lantern is galvanized with old red paint. It has a Fresnel glass globe that is clear on the outside and cased with a layer or red glass on the inside. I have seen these listed in our lantern books listed as Great Lakes lights. Navy Lanterns, Stern, or Anchor lights. This light measures about 19 3/4 inches tall. 7 inches across the base, and about 7 1/2 inches at its widest. It is in good condition but has some oxidation, some damage where the bottom of the cage meets the base, and the lens has a chip. See photos. The font has an unusual burner marked Gray Boston. Antique Warner-Patterson Company Nautical Search Light
This Antique Warner-Patterson Nautical Search Light is in very good condition. The large hinge that opens and closes the lens cover works fine. This search light and lens is in original condition. It has not been re-finished and retains it's original patina. It is safe to assume that it was in water a lot. Warner-Patterson made this thick glass lens in 1916 when it was first produced. I estimate it's age including the metal cover to be 1916 through the 1920s. It does not contain the original light. Which was replaced by a more modern red light bulb. The wiring from the light bulb to plug looks like it is from the 1950s era from the shape of the plug. The metal is attracted to a magnet. After it is plugged in you can open the cover and turn the light on if you like. Do not close the lens cover too tightly or it will be difficult to ... moreopen again. An antique nautical light acquired at an industrial salvage auction. There is no identifying information and I don't know what type of metal this is. It is covered with green verdigris except for the bottom edge which has been painted white. There is just a tiny bit of surface rust. Hardly worth mentioning, here and there, except for the cage which is completely rusted and broken. There is a porcelain bulb receptacle and the lens/shade is beautiful and made of thick ridged glass. It is about 7-1/2" high, with an opening inside diameter of 3-1/4" and a base diameter of about 5" It is very dirty but I am not doing any clean up as I don't want to disturb the patina or destroy the cage any further. The vessel was bombed off Naples in 1944 repaired and sold private in 1947 She was wrecked and burnt in 1966 The wartime light was hooded to allow other ships to follow her but not allow aircraft to see the light. This ship was actually shot at and bombed by the axis forces during world war two. Real history here. She was named after the first speaker of the house in the U.S. This light appears to be bronze. Beautiful survivor Large Antique Search Light Nautical Industrial Light
True survivor here with this awesome antique large search light that I rescued from a basement. I cannot find any makers mark on it. The heavy thick glass is embossed with TOP SPREDLITE TM REG US PAT OFF. The glass lense is apprx 15" and is all good free from any breaks or cracks. As is the complete unit. Comes with a bulb and the inside reflector looks great. The handles are stamped with numbers. This beauty stands apprx 25 1/2" tall to the top of the hinges. Apprx 23" wide from outside handle to the other handle. All original down to the wire. However the wire has been cut and will need to be rewired. Not sure if it still works but I see no reason why it wouldn't after being rewired. Has an awesome look& patina to it with the cast metal bracket ring and it's 3 hole foot base& handles. amazing antique vintage brass oil lantern. I dont know exactly the age of the piece but it is in really good shape. Antique Wooden Nautical TV Lamp Night Light Lighthouse Ash Tray Oriental Flair
This is a VERY COOL old lamp. It was found at a local estate sale in which the family had no desire to go through the decades and decades of possessions. The family opened the house to customers who were allowed to dig through the house as it sat. We found this in the back of a crawl space attic in a very old box. This is made of a stunning wood with a rich golden tone& a tight. Dark grain. It measures 10 3/4" long, 10 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" wide. It is a lighthouse with aluminum ashtray. The lighthouse is a light. The screws on this item are flat head. knob on the side is an on/off switch. It has a strange electrical plug.Japanese maybe? The light socket is slightly bigger than ... morea standard night light. The only markings are a tag on the bottom of ashtray(see last pic) It is in very good condition. There is nothing wrong with the ashtray. The white mark is due to the camera flash. This incredible light is from an old Wellesley MA estate. It stands about 20" tall to the top of the fixed ring on the top of the heat cage. The globe is around 10" in diameter. The metal surfaces are silver plated and in need of polishing. The base has some denting as shown. The font is original but the burner is missing. Very nice light for a boat signal. This looks that it is a piece of a larger lantern that had removable red and green glass lights. It is made to fit into a corner. A nice replacement for a broken piece. A good stand alone decoration, or can be used to create something new. It is 5" high and 4 1/2" at widest point.
