Vintage Antique Brass Nautical Lantern Industrial Maritime Lighting Lamp
Up for auction is this antique or vintage brass nautical lantern. I am uncertain of its exact age as I could not find another in my internet search. Wonderful original patina and in great working condition. It is really quite heavy. Weighing over 7 lbs. Ceramic neck inside; ribbed glass. I do not know if this was originally in a ceiling hanging down or on a deck standing up.the more knowledgeable ebay maritime collector knows more than me! Measures approx. 10 3/4" h x 4 3/4" w. Has the number 4538-1 embossed on the top. It looks like D-3 or 8- proceeds this number but it is faded with age and hard to read. Shipping is $19.50 across US connecting states.

I am selling an old PERKO Ship Light. As pictured. There are 4-5 small cracks in the metal around the screws, but it is still very solid and together structurally. I am not sure how old it is. An expert would know better. The light itself measures about 13 inches from top to bottom. Perfect for re-purposing. Salvaged from the AP168 USS Gage The Last Journey for the USS Gage By E.B. Fletcher On Thursday. July 23, 2009, the aged creaking hulk of the once proud USS Gage slowly made her way from the James River Reserve Fleet for her last journey to Brownsville, Texas where she will be demolished. The Gage stoically cooperated with the McAllister tugs which were assigned to tow her from Hampton Roads. The Gage's weather beaten hull was blotched with rust hiding any prior Navy gray paint. Her anchors were gone and the only visible sign of any life aboard this forgotten lady were the remnants of an abandoned Osprey nest cradled within one of her forward masts. The Gage(APA-168) ... morewas an amphibious/attack transport designed to sail to the site of amphibious operations carrying assault troops and support equipment during World War II. Up for auction is an awesome antique Neptune Brass Oil Lantern. This is a"ship" or"maritime" lantern. It measures approximately 15" tall(not including handle) and 6.5" square(not including fittings/external bars) The lid is closed by a latch and clip. Open this to expose the inner chimney. Which can be easily removed by pulling up on the two brass handles in opposing corners. The chimney is in like new condition and the wick raiser works like a dream. There are four outer glass panes that easily slide in and out for cleaning. They are crystal clear and in very good condition with no visible chips. The rivets on this lantern are copper. This is a very high quality lamp in excellent condition. I chose not to polish the brass/copper because some people like the"vintage" look. Vintage Antique STERN Nautical Hong Kong Copper Brass Oil Navigation Lantern 9"
This lantern was probably acquired in Singapore where my father-in-law operated a salvage diving business in the 70's.he was US Navy Diver. Who spent a lot of time on boats-and then driving ships, once he retired. The wick is trimmed, slides securely down and there is a reflector that slides in behind it. The wick cap does not click securely to the oil reservoir, though. The thumb wheel turns the wick up and there is one to open the hatch to pull up and refill the reservoir. The top clicks down securely where the ring is positioned. I have some better pictures but am having some trouble uploading from that camera. Email me if you would like to see more.

Antique Brass Lantern Oil Pot Fuel Font - Early Nautical Fixed Globe Lamp Part
Here are the dimensions. The hole this pot fits is 2 1/2 inches across. The pot spans 3 1/4" across its base flange. Or outer edge. 2 inch height between top of threads and bottom of Sangster clips. Stands 2 1/4" overall. All brass. This pot has a crease in its bottom rolled edge, and one clip has been re-soldered a long time ago. The clip repair does not harm how the pot sits and both of these issues are visible in the pictures. The threads are 7/8ths across and suffer no damage. Springs are strong and pot will hold oil. Large ANTIQUE Double Stacked SHIPS LIGHT Clear Lens BRASS Nautical Lantern Lamp

Measures about 16" high(including the handle) x 6" wide. Weight is 8 pounds. To help give an idea of scale. In the photos I put the light next to a regular size coffee cup. There are no markings on this light that I can find. There has been no cleaning or restoration done to this light, it has quite a bit of tarnish and natural patina. There is a small dent on the top but no other dents. One of the support braces has come loose(see photo#11) The wiring is ancient and not useable. One of the lenses has a crack that runs about a third of the way up the lens(see photo#12)there are no other cracks and no chips on either of the lenses. Facial damage consists of chipping on outer edge of ribbing, back-side edges and corners show usage chipping, mostly flea-bite size. manufacturing air bubbles The chipping is shallow(is not missing large chunks of glass) with only 2 spots being dime size and the remainder being various pea sizes and smaller. While it simply needs an experts touch. This item has been in storage near Mobile Bay, Alabama and previously belonged to my grandfather who worked at and retired from the shipyard in the early 1970's. The finds are sporadic at times, and not grouped or labelled. This lens sat alone wrapped in paper and reinforced with cloth electrical tape that had stiffened and lost its sticky. VERY RARE ANTIQUE JAPANESE NIPPON SENTO NAUTICAL SHIP BRASS LANTERN SIGNAL LAMP
For sale is an Antique Japanese Nippon Sento Co. Ltd. Ships Brass Oil Signal Lamp Lantern. This is a very rare lantern I have never seen another one like it listed on Ebay. The lamp is in excellent condition as evident by the photos. It has a very nice patina on the outside and looks great as is. Or can easily be polished for a brilliant shine. The lamp has a wooden handle, and on the left side of the lamp is a thumb toggle switch that opens and closes an aperture behind the lens that allows the light to have the appearance of turning on and off. I'm no expert, but I believe the lamp was designed for semaphore which is a method of using light to visually communicate with another ship, or from ship to shore, and vice a versa. The toggle switch works smoothly, and the door opens and closes freely. Please closely review all of the photos ... morefor the material condition of the lamp. The lamp has the original oil/kerosene pot, but it is missing the glass chimney and possibly a reflector that may have fit in the small rectangular slot at the end of the pot. A replacement glass chimney can be easily found online. The lantern measures approximately 20" inches from the top of the handle to the base, and it is approximately 10 1/2" inches wide. If you are a serious collector you do not want to miss the opportunity to own this lantern you may never see another one like it on Ebay. Vintage/Antique Ship's Brass Collectible Large Nautical working Lantern
Here is a Brass Boat Lantern Nautical. Vintage, Brass, Working, Large heavy duty. There is no name on it but the glass has VIM on it. The glass is special because it is thick glass and this is made so it is a much brighter light so you can much further away that regular glass. It weights approx. 6 3/4 lbs. by its self. Measures approx. 18" Tall( out handle it is about 14" tall) x 6 3/4" D. You unscrew the screw on top to open, lift the tank out by the lifter handles, unscrew wick, fill tank, screw wick back in place, put tanker back in place by the lifter handles and you are ready to go. Most of the time the lifter handles are missing. Only thing I see wrong not bad is a very small chip in glass(see last picture) Insurance will be required. Questions are welcomed. We are offering a rare antique nautical lantern made by Eli Griffiths& Sons of Birmingham. England! This large all-weather lantern was likely made for maritime use in the late 19th or early 20th century and held a single large candle protected behind five removable panes of glass that each measure 3 1/2" x 8" It is an unusually large and durable design that is typical of use in industry. The lantern stands 13 1/2" in height(17 1/2" with the wooden handle raised) and 7 7/16" in diameter at the base. It weighs 4 lbs, 12 oz. The metal is copper in color but is magnetic and so most likely tin. The hinged lid with a lockable clasp opens and closes smoothly, and reveals the interior black paint to be in very good condition. The mount that holds the candle has a slit in the side that allows the excess wax to flow out, ... moreand the candle to be burned all the way down. All five glass panels are intact with only minor chips along the edges typical of use. Stamped onto the lantern's lid is"E.G. S. LTD BIRMINGHAM" for Eli Griffiths& Sons. Up for auction is AN ORIGINAL VERY OLD vintage solid galvanized metal nautical Ship Anchor Lantern. The classic anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The anchor lamp is machined in pure heavy-gauge steel sheet. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The tops to the main body and the vent top are both hinged. Thus the top swings open for access and ease of cleaning. This all metal(except the frilled vent top, which is galvanized copper) is galvanized and shows its age. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION. The anchor lamp is named for its use. A 360o white light is required to be displayed at the highest point( the tallest mast) on all vessels at anchor or under way at night. This is an antique nautical maritime copper lantern ceiling. Porch, or hallway light fixture. It was manufactured by the Metrolite Manufacturing Co. The only info I could find on this company was from the 1930s which is likely commensurate with the age and patina on this lantern fixture. It measures 15 inches long from ceiling canopy to base. The base diameter of the lantern is 6-1/4 inches. The interior"jelly jar" glass measures 4-3/4 inches long and 4-1/4 inches in diameter. No Reserve on this Antique Maritime Nautical Lamp. This is an oil or Kerosene Lamp. The top lifts open and inside the oil/kerosene and wick container; easily lifts out for refilling. The lamp is missing one of the round"brackets( There are two on one side and only one on the other. Also has been dented on the bottom on the rear side(see pictures) It stands perfectly and the dent does not effect the function. Actually it does not look to challenging to repair? The Lamp looks to be made of solid copper and has developed a rich patina, but being copper I am sure this can be polished to look like new if that fits your taste. From an estate sale is an Antique Vtg Brass Wall Oil or Kerosene Lantern. It measures 13" long and the beveled glass windows measure 4" x 3" All windows are free of cracks or damage. There is some surface rust on the inside but no corrosion to the metal to cause holes or damage so it could be cleaned if needed. The very top of the lantern has been soldered(see photos) but it doesn't affect the workings of the lantern. this lot contains a Vintage Brass PERKO Marine Nautical ship RED pole Lantern Early 1900s. it has been modified to electric a long time ago. It was wired for ship use as it has a ground wire as well? it has a very thick red glass with a few chips& cracks from use& age. nothing that compromises it's usage or condition. it weighs 11 pounds& is 10" x 6" the light itself has been tested& works. it has not been cleaned or polished by us, although it looks like someone took scouring pad or steel wool to some areas, none of which has caused any permanent or bad damage, but you can see these areas in pictures. the one crack we found is only on the inside of glass& can only be seen when held up to light& spun til found. I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHO MADE THIS LANTERN BUT AFTER LOOKING ON EBAY AND ALSO DO SOME RESEARCH ON IT. I BELIEVE IT IS A PERKINS. I PURCHASED THIS MANY YEARS AGO AND IT HAD ABOUT 10 COATS OF BLACK PAINT ON IT. I TOOK IT TO A PROFESSIONAL AND HAD IT CLEANED AND IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL BRASS. THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO SO IT HAS DULLED OVER THE YEARS BUT WOULD CLEAN BEAUTIFUL AGAIN. IT IS IN REALLY NICE CONDITION. NO GLASS CRACKS OR CHIPS. SOMEONE DID DRILL A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM, I SUPPOSE TO TRY AND MAKE A LAMP. THERE ARE NO SCRATCHES OR DENTS AND HAS NOT BEEN WELDED OR ANY OTHER REPAIR MADE TO IT.
