This is wired for electricity but I don't know if it is original wiring or was rewired or what. To be honest. I haven't plugged it in to test whether it works or not. Either. Antique Peter Gray Maritime Nautical Red Globe Anchor Lantern Light Great Lakes?
Just out of a local house is this antique Maritime Ships lamp. It was made by Peter Gray around 1890 or perhaps earlier. The lantern is galvanized with old red paint. It has a Fresnel glass globe that is clear on the outside and cased with a layer or red glass on the inside. I have seen these listed in our lantern books listed as Great Lakes lights. Navy Lanterns, Stern, or Anchor lights. This light measures about 19 3/4 inches tall. 7 inches across the base, and about 7 1/2 inches at its widest. It is in good condition but has some oxidation, some damage where the bottom of the cage meets the base, and the lens has a chip. See photos. The font has an unusual burner marked Gray Boston. This is an authentic original nautical/maritime portside glass lamp enclosure that many years ago was fashioned into a simply put. Fantastic lamp. There is a socket on the inside that illuminates the red glass and I must say that it looks incredible lit up. Obviously there is a socket at the top as well that will require the lamp shade of your choosing to complete the piece. I chose not to clean and scrub the piece so as to depict the age and authenticity more clearly. This is absolutely not a reproduction. I believe this starboard red lamp enclosure sat atop a piling somewhere in some waterway for who knows how many years. With a brass sheath that pulls up to protect the glass. This antique nautical lantern(fore lantern? was purchased at a river-side Estate Sale and had been used as part of the rustic maritime decor in the home's spacious family room. It is 13 1/2" tall(not counting the ring to hang it by) and 6 1/2" in diameter. It weighs nearly 5 pounds. There is no battery; however. The wires are present. The copper needs cleaning and the galvanized metal is weathered. The Fresnel lens seems to be in perfect condition once cleaned up(1st photo is cleaned lens; last photo is uncleaned lens. Antique Collectible Perkins Marine Maritime Nautical Lamp Lantern NO RESERVE
Perkins Marine Lantern/Lamp Mfrd by: Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation. Brooklyn, NY This is a highly collectible antique marine lantern/lamp. This was inherited from a grandparent and has been in my storage for at least a decade alone. I do not know the exact age but can only guess it is at least 50 years plus. This lantern has a chain attached to hang from a ceiling or other and takes a standard lightbulb. I do not know if this was the original configuration or it was modified like this. It has not been damaged by other modifications like similar lamps offered on eBay that are attached to bases or made into lamps. I have never polished this item so I assume it is brass and not copper. The dimensions are approximately 18 in. from the top of the handle to the bottom of base. It is 14 and 3/4 in. tall without the handle. The width is approximately ... more7 and 1/2" The condition is excellent except two minor spots. First. All of the rods that protect the glass are all present in place and not bent or otherwise damaged. However, the top of one of the rods(see photo) is loose. This will need to be re-brazed in place which I am told is a easy and cheap fix. The second spot is a small dent on the base of the lantern(see photo) This could be hammered out easily or left alone to show the lamps character. The glass is clear and intact but has a minor nick or two in a couple of the ridges which are not noticeable without searching for, but there are NO Cracks or other damage to the glob. Similar lamps on eBay have starting prices of almost $200 and go past $500 and do NOT include shipping. And they are missing parts and in far worse condition. Just the replacement glass alone goes for at a minimum of $50 to $100. I hope you get a great bargain on this beautiful antique. There is NO reserve and shipping is FREE! Good Luck!

RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN MARITIME NAUTICAL COPPER RIVET
Up for sale is RARE UNMODIFIED ANTIQUE BRASS SHIP ANCHOR LANTERN. This is such a great find because as just stated it is UNMODIFIED. Meaning it has NOT been converted over to electric. This lamp features a brass body with handmade copper rivets. All the hardware(rivets. Hinges, hasps, etc) appear to be hand made/forged. The ANCHOR brass label is applied on the top section which opens to expose the burner. The hook and chain to secure the hinged top are still intact. There is also a hinged top cap for flame inspection. When you open the top cap you will see that the chimney is triple insulated. It has a Frenzel type lens which appears to be old and original glass. The oil tank and burner assembly fits snug inside the lantern. Upon removal of the burner assembly from the oil tank. The wick is new and the inside of the oil tank has no residue ... moreor oil smell, suggesting it has to have been either cleaned very thoroughly(with several areas inside the tank unreachable) or possibly never used! Even though it seems to be the latter of the two options we still say possibly due to now documentation or provenance on the lantern beyond the current owner. This lack of evidence of use is consistent with inside of the metal chimney where no obvious traces of soot can be found. The base has aspiration vents all around it. The burner's wick knob has the words"SHERWOODS LTD. B'HAM MADE IN ENGLAND" on it. Making this from the very early 1900s at the latest from what we can find on the company. We have no reason to believe that this burner insert is anything but original to the lantern. Meaning we believe the lantern to be from the same time period. If anyone knows any different please share with us. In use this lamp would have been hauled up the ship's mast with halyards. To secure it as such. The lamp is equipped with substantial brass bail handles on the top and bottom. These are attached to heavy cast brass brackets riveted to the body of the lamp. Antique "Viking" Ship Nautical Maritime Oil Lamp Kerosene Lantern
Vintage Viking Kerosene anchor light. Not sure of the age but not antique. I see other Viking brand lanterns listed as true antiques but I don't believe they are or that this one is. Everything works. It stands 15" tall. 6 1/2" deep and 6 1/2" wide. The glass is all in good condition. No dents, breaks or flaws that I can see. The material seems to be all brass except the rolled edges and corners are brass rolled over a steel rod. This lantern is dirty and needs cleaning but i will leave that up to the purchaser, I am selling as found. This will make a beautiful display or actually use it! It belonged to an officer who served in the first World War. We found the lantern in his army trunk with all his other gear but I couldn't find out if this lantern was something he used during WWI or brought home from Europe. We were however able to identify that it is a binnacle ship lantern. The lantern is not made of any steel. Its all brass. This is so that the lamp will not interfere with the ships compass. Vintage Anchor Ship Light Lantern Nautical Maritime Rare Brass Antique
This is a beautiful copper and brass kerosine anchor light with a nice aged patina. It is in is in excellent condition. There are no dents. Cracks or missing parts. All parts are made with heavy gauge copper and brass. The lens is thick heavy glass. You can see some small air bubbles inside the glass) This is truly a quality lamp that will last for many years. My father and I used this lamp on our many sailing trips on the Great Lakes and inland lakes in Minnesota. The dimensions are 10 and 1/2 inches high by 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter. Lamps and Lighting. Antique primitive 1890 maritime ships lantern 18 3/4" tall. Lantern alone is 12 1/2" x 9" wide. Painted green, original color. Metal looks like galvanized tin, with iron cage and handle. Has a beautiful red glass globe aproximately 7" in diameter. It has the kerosene burner intact. Check all my pictures. Real nice piece. This Rare Perko Globe lantern needs some solder and a couple of pieces of wire to hold it together but it has the rarerest part.The Perkins# 8 red globe without any cracks or chips.The lantern is made of galvanized steel with a brass top and bottom and was made from about 1916-1925.It is also called the Signal Lantern or as a general light.We do not have a burner and it has been electrified but it is a very early model.It measures 15" tall X 10" in diameter on the outside wire and 8" in diameter on the shade.It is listed as Rare in my lantern book. Antique Triplex Maritime Ships Lantern The lantern is marked with the Triplex logo and Pat'd 1910. On the other side it is marked Geo B Carpenter& Co Chicago. It definitely shows it's age. There are some dents and dings in the metal. The glass ridges on the lantern are chipped in some places. There is a drop of what appears to be white paint on the top section of the lantern. It definitely has that rustic charm. It stands 12" tall not counting the ring on top. The base is about 5.75" across. It has not been used as a lantern for quite some time. Wonderful original patina and in great working condition. It is really quite heavy. Weighing over 7 lbs. Ceramic neck inside; ribbed glass. Up for auction is an awesome antique Neptune Brass Oil Lantern. This is a"ship" or"maritime" lantern. It measures approximately 15" tall(not including handle) and 6.5" square(not including fittings/external bars) The lid is closed by a latch and clip. Open this to expose the inner chimney. Which can be easily removed by pulling up on the two brass handles in opposing corners. The chimney is in like new condition and the wick raiser works like a dream. There are four outer glass panes that easily slide in and out for cleaning. They are crystal clear and in very good condition with no visible chips. The rivets on this lantern are copper. This FABULOUS Antique Electric Onion Lantern is Brass& Glass ~Measures 13 1/2" tall without the handle and 16" tall with handle standing straight up~Metal circular piece around the glass globe measures 30" around and pedestal measures 13" around as well~ No chips or cracks in the glass globe and the brass has some everyday wear too. It but I didn't want to shine it up or take away from the vintage look at all!~The lantern inside has a fresh unlit wick, with all parts intact& Beautiful!~ Has the wick crank out knob with"H.R. Authentic Maritime Marine Antique Ship's Lantern Steel Brass Red Fresnel Lens
AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE SHIP’S LANTERN Steel body. Brass grille, ruby-red glass Fresnel lens. Condition: no dents nor cracks. Mfg. by DURKEE MARINE PRODUCTS CORP. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Appears to have been designed to burn oil(see photos) History: In the early l960’s. I purchased this lantern from a marine salvage yard in San Francisco. I disassembled everything and had the metal parts dipped to remove decades of paint and crud. And then sprayed the metal parts with clear matte acrylic. The objective was to just clean it up; not to make it look new nor“restored” At that time we had a waterfront weekend place on Bethel Island. CA, in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta area. Our dining table was placed before a window which overlooked Piper Slough. Where we moored our boat, and Frank’s Tract(lake) This lantern was hung above the table and centered in ... morethe window. During the wiring to accommodate 110/120V“shore power” I installed a small pull-chain switch at the bottom of the lantern. Here’s how it worked: If the adults were gathered round the table sippin. Dippin. And grinnin, we might prefer the red“mood light” only. If the kids were playing checkers. They would pull the chain to activate the down-light. There is ample space for a Par38 halogen floodlight. The beacon is lighted by three other internal lamp sockets illuminating the Fresnel lens. Hanging chain and canopy(as shown) included. Light bulbs not incl. too fragile) I fondly remember returning from many a sunset cruise. Guided to our dock by this stunning piece of genuine nautical history. Land ho. Mates, man the lines!
