It is very heavy bronze ... moreweighing 40lb and is 12" in diameter and 15 inches tall. it has a heavy clear glass fresnel lens a separate inner red lens which sits about an inch inside the fresnel lens. the red lens has a few cracks, but seems to be stable. the only marking that I can find on this is the number "3" stamped at the lug where the cord exits. this light is wired to accept a standard edison base bulk. The cord is 10 feet long and in decent shape, but is a little stiff from age. As shown in the photos, the cap flips open to access the bulb.

The lamp stays level at any angle. It also has wear to the finish with corrosion on several spots. So study the pictures carefully. Although most of the piece is made of brass I suspect the shade is a different metal, perhaps copper. I have not tried lighting the lamp(no oil) so I can't say how well it works. Cleaning out the attic. And found a 50's marine remote spot lamp. Checked out on the power supply@ 6 volts and worked properly. Cleaned up really well. Antique ' Perko ' Nautical Marine Ship Lantern - Port Side Ruby RED Lens
Antique PERKO lantern with a thick Ruby Red lens which has a tiny chip. The lantern measures approximately 10 1/2" high(not including the handle- 1 3/4" and 7" wide. It has little Christmas Tree vents at the top and at the posterior bottom. Hinged door opens to an interior ring. Interior burner is missing. The well known PERKO company has been making marine lanterns since the early 1900's in Brooklyn. NY. I have no idea how old this lantern is. It doesn't appear to have been altered or painted and has a gorgeous vintage patina. TIP: For those of us lacking in Nautical skills. The easiest way to remember which color goes on Starboard or Port is: RED = PORT = WINE. At least that's how I remember. Up for bidding are these estate sale finds of 2 Vintage Marine Port and Starboard Ships lanterns. They measure approx 11 1/2" h x 7" w. They have a triangle shape. With great patina one is basically grey and the other one red. The grey one has a blue glass with ridges and the red one has a red glass with ridges. No major dents. They weigh 2 lbs. each. This lantern, which stands approx. 11.25" tall and 7.5" in diameter, has been put to work in its past, and shows scars of close encounters with various dings and bends. Very Large Vintage Antique Ship's Lantern Old estate find. This is a very large lantern made by Durkee Marine Products of Staten Island, NY. It is made of an old galvanized metal. With an iron folding handle on the top. The handle has a loop for hanging. There is a large round shade, and a heavy thick glass shade. The lantern is flat in the back where it looks like it would be mounted. Somewhere along the way. Someone decided to electrify the lantern. There is an electric cord that comes out through the top and a light fixture inside. The cord has a plug and a switch. The bottom piece that I guess was the oil tank at one time has a cut out opening that is used to access the light bulb. Old Perko lantern ready for display/use. This piece was wired as a light but I removed the wiring because it was faulty. It can very easily be rewired or I think a candle glowing inside would make this piece. Typical wear for this piece few dents and cracks in copper. The glass is original and has a nick near bottom ridge(pictured) The glass is marked Perko. The very bottom is missing one clip and there is a bees tiny nest in top. i was able to remove most of it but a small piece remains. Measures aprox. 14.5 inches tall. Converted Antique Marine Lamp Cargo Lantern Brass Viking Ships Steampunk
Antique Viking Cargo Lantern Converted to AC 110-120 v with Edison Bulb Just finished my latest conversion using an old Viking mast lantern using antique and vintage electrical parts. This is a larger Viking lamp. Measuring approx 14-1/2" from the base to the top not including the wire hangers. If the hangers are included it is about 21" Thought the original old lamp was too small for the conversion so I did not use it. Instead I used an antique porcelain fitting with a brass top from a part from an antique Aladdin oil lamp. These were joined by a friction fit and further cementing with high heat silicon which does not show. The on/off switch is also old. 1940 or older is my guess. All the wiring is new reproduction cloth covered twisted pair wire. The bulb, which is included, is a 60 watts. 8 filement reproduction Edison type bulb. ... moreThe lit bulb in my pictures doesn't show up well due to the brightness. It is quite beautiful to see when lit. At the end of the cord is an antique 2 prong vintage plug. likely 20's or 30's. This lamp was made to hang from a hook or wall bracket. Perhaps in a corner, over a period piece of furniture or in an alcove. Have put on extra wire that the buyer can trim to fit the space. The switch hangs free and was intended to hang conveniently down a wall for easy reach. This could be removed if the light were to be used with a wall switch or dimmer. The repro Edison bulb is included and is brand new but we do not guarantee them. They seem to be a bit more fragile regular bulbs. My experience is that they last longer if put on a dimmer and turned down about 10% We pack well and have shipped world wide since 1998. I am not an expert to this type nautical maritime lamp. I will try my best to describe this lamp. Don't see any marking. Stand 8" in high and about 5" widest from handle to handle. Lamp is rounded, electric,complete with the thick glass cover. I am thinking that this lamp was possibly use along the harbor. The metal casing is intact and possibly brass/copper? F H LOVELL& CO.Antique Brass Nautical Ships Lantern late 1800's lamp. This lantern looks great! The glass is thick and very old. There are no flaws.Chips or cracks in the glass. I was going to electrify this lantern but it would not go with any of our other decor.Just a couple of slight dents in the brass from use. Right now there is no means by which to light this lantern. I dropped in a light bulb to show off the color of the glass when illuminated. This is a great piece of history. F H Lovell started around the civil war era. It made marine lanterns primarily. By the early 1920's the name was changed because the company merged with a railroad lantern company so this lantern was most likely manufactured around 1880. The lantern is 10 inches tall(14 inches tall with handle) and the width is 9 inches in diameter.

Antique Nautical Marine Oil Lantern to start a new paragraph use- This is a great example of an antique marine oil lantern. It's one of the best ones I've seen. The main body ~ top/bottom is free of dents. The hanger and tie downs are intact. The wires or cage is there and in good condition. The glass is free of chips on the outside, has some of the little flea bite size around the rim on the bottom inside like they all do. And the bottom oil lamp part is there, the hinge works and it stays closed when you hold it up. I don't see a mark on the glass, but this looks like a Perkins lantern. At one time had a finish on it ~ I have left this, it does chip off if you care to totally remove it and just have that old zinc/tin look, but right now it has great patina! This is a very old Wicox-Crittendon& Co. marine lamp. The burner is missing and the wire bale at the hinge point is loose. It has a blue lens that is rare. The top cap is brass under the tarnishing. For sale is a nice old marine lamp-lantern made by Perko De Lite Lamp. This one is made of copper and what appears to be galvanized metal. It has the original oil lamp inside and a green and a red glass lens. They are both in good shape and not broken. Mounting bracket on back with original Perko brass tag. Hanging or holding loop on top. This Nautical Ship Lantern measures 10" x 5½" x 5" It is all original and uncleaned. The gentleman I got this from said he used to use the lantern in it when he camped as a kid. Inside you can see the carbon left from when the lamp was lit. I think if this was wired right. Vintage Maritime Ship Light Spot Lamp Antique Marine Flood Fixture Ship Military
This auction is for one vintage ship spot light. We bought this fixture from a local estate. It belonged to a man that served in the Navy as a dentist. This was part of a large lot of vintage dental equipment that we purchased. We were told that it was from one of the many military ships that he practiced on. The fixture does work. There is a separate bulb socket mounted on the plate that supports the round light diffuser that is not wired. But the bulb in the center of the diffuser works(see pictures) Cosmetically, there are scratches and plenty of wear. It was painted black at some point and that paint is flaking and there is surface rust present(see pictures) It has been in storage for quite a while and it needs to be cleaned. Here we have a set of 2 Triplex Marine Lanterns. These show a patent date of Dec 20 1910. I'm in no way an expert on these items but will relate what I do know: Each Lantern is identical in size/dimension. Measuring 11" tall by 7" wide. They are made of metal with glass lenses and brass or copper chimneys. The red colored Lantern has a RED Glass Lens The green colored Lantern has a BLUE Glass Lens. These are NON electrified lamps. Despite it being made by the auto company, it really seems to be a marine/nautical spotlight to me based off its design. Has a nice patina- you can see a slight imperfection in the glass faceplate in the photos. The diameter of the face is approximately 7 1/4" I plugged it into the wall and it turns right on. Perko Antique Brass Marine Running Light
This is an exceptional brass antique running light(port side-red glass lens) with a beautiful patina. The top hatch unscrews allowing access to the interior to replace a standard light bulb. The socket is included as is the mounting bracket so the item can be wired and mounted easily. I have owned this for many years having received it in trade from a barge guy on the Columbia River. Dimensions are 10 inches by 10 inches by 14 inches. It is heavy so shipping will be somewhat costly. I was planning on using it as a deck lamp or on my dock.
