Hi folks. I'm back after an absence to auction more incredible, authentic items from parents' collections. These are items they've kept in storage- they were collectors of anything and everything old, unusual or beautiful starting their collections back in the 1950s. The past year has had me busy researching, inventorying and cataloging their items. Now I have the dubious task of selling some. For starters, I am not an expert in anything. I have some knowledge of some things, but sometimes I'm not exactly sure of what I have so feel free to contact me to either correct me or educate me. I believe in the"auction" process, so the starting bids on all my items are fairly low to encourage bidding. Here we have an absolutely magnificent antique ship's lantern. Or to be more specific, a Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware ... moreCo. distress or signal lantern circa about 1915-1925. It is made of galvanized steel and brass- all galvanized steel except for a brass top and brass burner which were polished quite some time ago. The lantern shows old solder repairs. Has a little bit of surface rust here and there, but is otherwise really clean. The fitted burner seems to be very good condition. Is a Plume and Atwood and on the thumb wheel it reads"P&A Mfg Co, Waterbury. Conn. Made in U.S.A. Plume& Atwood made the burners for Perko and many other makers. This lantern has NOT been electrified. The clear globe is marked PERKINS 8 and while it has a little dust. It shows NO damage and is protected by 8 wire guards that are firmly in place(some have some surface rust) The base has two tie-down clips. Although he never used it. This had been hanging in my father's workshop many years ago and I just presumed it had been sold or lost until June when I discovered it had been packed away. The lantern measures about 14.5" tall without the loop standing up(about 16" tall with the loop up) Is about 9.5" wide looking down on it and measuring it wire guard to wire guard. The base measure

Antique PERKO Perkins Marine Lamp Boat Ship Lantern Hanging Light Red Lens
This is a great Perkins"PERKO" Marine lantern or bow light. The lantern is about 18" tall counting the handle. The lens is heavy red glass and can be seen from all sides(360 degrees) The lantern works off of oil or kerosene. The reservoir and wick are in tack and working. The Perkins metal tag is still in place(too dark to get into photo) There are some small nicks and I can see what looks like brass under the black paint. I believe the paint is original to the lantern. The lantern is heavy. Over 7 pounds. Lanterns like this were used on large ships as a warning light or bow light. This large all-weather lantern was likely made for maritime use in the late 19th or early 20th century and held a single large candle protected behind five removable panes of glass that each measure 3 1/2" x 8" It is an unusually large and durable design that is typical of use in industry. The lantern stands 13 1/2" in height(17 1/2" with the wooden handle raised) and 7 7/16" in diameter at the base. It weighs 4 lbs, 12 oz. The metal is copper in color but is magnetic and so most likely tin. The hinged lid with a lockable clasp opens and closes smoothly, and reveals the interior black paint to be in very good condition. Vintage Industrial Age Light Spot Lamp Antique Marine Fixture Ship Military
This auction is for one vintage ship spot light. We bought this fixture from a local estate. It belonged to a man that served in the Navy as a dentist. This was part of a large lot of vintage dental equipment that we purchased. We were told that it was from one of the many military ships that he practiced on. The fixture does work. There is a separate bulb socket mounted on the plate that supports the round light diffuser that is not wired. But the bulb in the center of the diffuser works(see pictures) Cosmetically, there are scratches and plenty of wear. It was painted black at some point and that paint is flaking and there is surface rust present(see pictures) It has been in storage for quite a while and it needs to be cleaned. Large antique pair of Perkins Marine Lanterns/bale handles/very early 1900s
This is a large and impressive pair of fishing shack-fresh Perkins Marine Lanterns that date to the very early 1900s. Each carries a Perkins label at the base. While these are heavily oxidized. I think they are made of brass, or perhaps copper. I can see both a yellow and more copper brown peeking through. The lamps are large- 19&1/2" to the top of the handle- the lantern itself about 16" high. Both have white globes. Condition is as found and as shown. Please look at all photos to form your own opinion of quality and condition. First off, both are missing their burners. Each also has some cracks/breaks on the lips that hold the globes. One is missing a vertical bar that protects the glass. The globes have no breaks or cracks- one has a bit of a rough edge on one of the rims. All that being said, these have a fabulous authentic ... morelook to them and would be a fine addition to any collection. The patina is great as is, and pays homage to their years of use at sea. Rare Antique 1920's Perko Brass Ship's Fog Bell Marine Lamp Original Patina
Rare 1920's original 8" fog bell lamp marked on inside of bell. PERKO, Perkins M.S. Co. Bklyn, N.Y. 07-61" Since I couldn't find a similar Perko fog-bell-lamp form anywhere, I contacted the Perko Marine Lamp Corp in Miami Florida with photos of the lamp. They said that this was originally manufactured by Perkins in this lamp-form and that it is not a custom piece made outside the factory by an individual. In their library they found only a 1920 and a 1932 catalog. In the 1920 catalog, they found a lamp that had similar fittings. I believe the markings inside the bell date this lamp to sometime between 1922 when the"PERKO" trademark was created and 1932 when the company name was changed to Perko Marine Lamp and Hardware Corp. It has a well-aged patina. Height from bottom of base to top of eagle finial is 20" ... moreDiameter of bell is 8" Bell has a wonderful resonant. Distinctive fog bell sound. Lamp is in good working order. Not sure if the wiring has been changed at all- the electrical plug is the old-style with prongs of even width. The blue glass has no chips or cracks in it. Green paint missing on top. Has typical wear. Scuffs, scratches, dirt, dust, dings from age and use. Co moved from New York to New Jersey around 1911, dating this lamp to the early 1900's. Along with maritime lamps, the company made lights for bicycles, motorcycles and cars. The lamp is constructed of brass with a glass lens and glass reflector in the back. It was powered by acetylene gas. It measures about 8" high. 4.75" deep and 4.25" across the face. Looks to be c.Late-19thC vintage to me. Lantern is 20" tall not including the top swing handle. Buying as you see it as found in estate. The globe has a large hole on one side with crack lines going out from hole. The remaining thick glass looks stable as is however. Globe still displays well on good side. There are other ridge chips on glass. A couple of dings spots on shoulder of lamp. Top lid has dent on top. Vertical cage rod is pushed in where the hole in glass is. Bought many years ago from an old gent who said his father had gotten it from a boat that was being dismanteled-not sure when-but he thought early 1900s. I believe that the metal is heavy copper with cast bronze fittings. Or otherwise possibly brass with heavy patina. The light source was provided from some type of gas. The burner is still intact(see photo. The handle for maneuvering the light has the original leather wrapping-still in good condition. There is a small dent-see pictures. Really lovely antique brass spot lamp with all original intact components. I think this was once the spotlight on a boat because it is all brass. But I can't be certain because i cannot find another one like it anywhere. There are no markings of any kind. Measurements: 10" tall overall glass lens is 4.25" in diameter base is 3" across Original Mazda lightbulb. Original reflector in fantastic condition, some of the original wiring is intact in the brass coil housing. If i knew anything about rewiring. I would refurbish this in a heartbeat and make a really cool and unique lamp.

Antique Brass kerosene Ships lantern R C Murray Glascow Nautical Marine
This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. It is missing the globe and wick, but appears otherwise complete. The outside of lantern is in great shape for age with minimal imperfections that only add to the character of the piece. Hi. Up for sale is a vintage brass ship light that has been converted to a lamp. It looks great but has some wear and issues. It has some rust around the seams. There are a couple small chips in the glass. The glass globe is upside down. There is a screw missing off the back. There is no lamp shade. The lamp shade holder is loose. The dimensions(without the lamp extension) are about 16" to the top of the handle. It is about 10.5" deep and 10.5" wide.

Antique Marine Navigators Lantern Brass Signal Lamp w original Candle Boat Light
Antique Maritime Boat Navigators Lantern! It is Marked Navigators Lantern but it is so covered in old paint you can only make out the L. See pics. Somewhat rare piece. Brass with Original glass and original candle, see pics. Stands about 8 1/2" tall not including handle/hanger. It's been painted black over what looks like it's original green. Most of these I've seen have a back piece with two metal"handles" So either this one came without them and with this hanger or the handles were removed and the hanger added later. However I don't see any removal holes anywhere on the back but I do see possible old weld marks covered up with old paint. There is a metal peg missing on the front that slides the inner door around to block the light. The door does slide. It has both the inner brass slide door and blackened metal ... moresheathe. Hard to show in pics. Paint is severely flaked. It is in it's original condition as is the candle see pics. Glass is not chipped nor cracked but dingy, needs cleaned and has a cool air bubble in it but you can only see it when it's opened and I didn't get a picture. Very solid hinges are tight and fine. One small dent near globe on it's right if facing it. Hard to see but I got the best pic I could of it. Clasp is strong and door shuts tightly. Nothing wiggles or moves around. You could actually use this right now. All in original condition. The only thing I'm not definite on is it's age. It could be back as far as the Civil War era or just late 1800's. It is believed to have been used as a Railroad signal lantern. conductor's lamp on a train here in the Southwest but I have no evidence to prove that.
