Maritime Navigational Lanterns.The main housing is constructed of galvanized iron and ... morethe top cover is copper. However they have not been shined up. The original manufacturer was Wilcox& Crittenden& Co. There trademark was Capital W with a Capital C embossed on top of one another. The factory was in Middletown, CONN. USA. There is a photo of the Logo which appears to be embossed on brass, it is on the side, located on top of a metal sleeve, which is riveted on the lantern itself. This sleeve must have been used to slip over something to hold it secure to the ship. Both sleeves are intact and extremely secure. This embossing is very difficult to capture in a photo as the glare, and clarity of a photo so close. The lanterns stand just shy of 13" tall with the hanging loop standing up. They are made to fit in a corner. The sides measure 5" With the front curving around to meet the 2 sides. The glass itself is 5" tall and is almost 90 degrees. One lantern has fresnel green glass for the starboard, and the lantern with the fresnel red glass is for the port. The glass on both lanterns is in very good shape and have no cracks or chips. The metal round accesses to the oil chambers/wicks are both present and appear tight when screwed in. The wick chambers need cleaning, but seem to work, and even have wick left in them! We didn't attempt to light them, but knowing something about oil lanterns, don't see any reason they wouldn't work, however this isn't a guarantee. just presenting things honestly. The metal. Nowhere, on either lantern shows any sign of rust. However they are a brown color. Paint appears to be old, in some places chipping, or peeling off. There are the usual signs of true usage. Wear and tear. Overall appear to be in very good shape. I have not checked them for leakage, however on inspection, I don't see any reason they would leak. I have no idea how old they are. antique Metal Signal Lantern, Marine? Perkins Marine & Hdw.Corp green/red glass
this is a very old metal signal light of some sort. Crumpled metal label on back reads PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDW CORP. Brooklyn NY so I assume it is a boating or navigational lamp of some sort. 11 1/2" tall. About 6" wide and 9" deep with the flap that separates the two ridged glass lenses, one is green and one is red. Lenses are held in with copper or brass fittings and cap is same metal. The metal body is rusted out on about the bottom 3/4 inch and fits over somekind of lighting mechanism but I don't know what kind. this could be used for parts for another lamp of the same type or possibly restored, I don't know. back has a flat mount of some sort. don't know if it goes over an electric or gas light on a post, or how it was used. The 1 1/2" ball fuel reservoir is attached to a cupped base to allow the lantern to be placed on a flat surface. The ball is enameled a beautiful red. It is 1 7/8" tall from the bottom of the base to the top. The base is 7/8" in diameter. Sterling and Other Metal" The number 37 and a maker's mark are engraved inside of the base. The handle is made of a type of bone.possibly whale bone? The handle length is 3 1/2" The total length is 6" It weighs about an ounce. California which is, in tonage, the 4th busiest port on the West Coast. In the early days of California Stockton was the hub. Many regarded Stockton as the in-land San Francisco. It was a rough place and full of vice. Many different forms of boats and ships from sailing vessels to large paddlewheelers made their way to Stockton bringing people and goods. During WWII there were no less than two shipyards making destroyers, balloon barges and tugs for the U.S. Navy. Stockton was also home to the Stephen's Bros. Boat Builders from 1902 to 1987. Antique Boat Signal Lantern with Burner & Glass Lense
Here is an antique oil burner Boat Signal Lantern. I could not see a makers name on it. It measures 8 1/2" high. The glass lense has some scratches and is dirty and needs to be cleaned. It is not broken. The burner is there and the door has a spring lever that works good. Painted Black. I am not sure if that is the original paint. Has some rust also but not bad. Antique National Marine Lantern Oil Lamp. Lamp has Falto City Highway S Div on front and on bottom of lantern it is stamped with MFRD by National Marine Marine Lamp Co. New York. Lamp measures 8 1/4" in height. The bottom of lantern screws on but it is missing one of the tabs which can easily be fixed. If you wish to have this repaired before shipment, I can have that done by an excellent welder with over 42 years of experience. This item will be shipped USPS or UPS and will be packaged securely to prevent damage during shipping and fully insured.

Antique MARITIME NAUTICAL SHIP LANTERN Red Glass Copper & Brass
Up for bids is a great marine piece- an antique ship lantern. This nautical lantern is made of brass and copper metals and a beautiful piece of red onion glass. It has a sloped top which keeps water and rain from the inside of it. The red onion glass is encompassed by protective brass pieces which prevent it from being damaged when it swings. This lantern also has both the top pivoting brass hanger. AND the bottom one. I see very few of these lanterns that were made with these, and if so they no longer have the bottom one. At some point someone has removed the kerosene drum/holder and started the process of making this electrical. I have not attempted to complete this. It is fitted with a very simple bulb holder and a turning switch which still turns and clicks. This has in no means detracted from the beauty of this lantern and will make ... moreit simpler to electrify if someone chooses to do so. This lantern is in fantastic vintage condition. It has wear associated and common with its age but overall really nice! If someone chooses to polish this it will shine like new. The glass is in very good condition. It has some wear marks. Rough spots, or minor chipping on the rims/edges but no breaks. The wear is only from where it is fitted into the copper ends. These marks are not seen or noticable when the lantern is put together. The glass itself has some air bubbles but only visible upon close examination. The sloped top has several small dents in it. The two copper caps look very good and I do not see any dents or tears in them. The brass hangers and glass protectors have only age patina to them but otherwise perfect. The measurements of this lantern is 25 1/2" when hanging from the top of the hanging attachment to the tip of the bottom attachment. The glass is approx. 6 1/2" high by 8 1/2" around. I've taken this apart to show the insides of the pieces and the area where the electrical work was started. Also. When I ship it will come separated like this. Here is a great antique Ship Lantern. This is not a replica and is ori ginal. Since it was removed from a ship. The lens does have a few chips but no cracks. Is 5 inches wide across the back, 3 inches wide across the front, and is 4-3/8 inches deep. It has a flat back so that it can be mounted on a wall. It has one flaw, the latch for the door in back is broken. It is otherwise in excellent condition with no significant cracks, dents or breaks. Antique Brass Electrified Hanging Ship Lantern Lamps Blue & Red Glass Lenses
This is a set of two hanging ship lantern lamps that once held a reservoir for oil or kerosene but have been electrified for a standard light bulb. Both are entirely made from bright shiny brass and have glass lenses of red and blue. On the top of both lanterns is stamped"Port Classes II& III" The one with the red lens is in excellent condition and the one with the blue lens is in good condition but looks like it has had some welding repair done along the top seam one side. Both have doors that open for easy bulb replacement. The both latch closed well. They are wired together with a 7' cord(can be hung up to 7' apart) and have a 10 1/2 foot cord with a plug coming from one lamp. The cords are not very old and are in very good condition but both have some sticky residue near the bottom of the lamps where they were taped ... moreto hold them in place. Each lamp measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 10" with handle down and 15" with handle up. These lamps will be packed well with care and insured.

Antique Tung Woo Hong Kong Masthead in excellent condition. Measures approximately 8-3/4" in height x 6" in width including the brass hardware on both sides. Beautiful piece with antique hand blown clear glass. Based on the patina I am convinced that this piece was indeed exposed to the elements and was at one time attached to a working vessel. This is the real deal not a pristine shiny knock-off.

This auction is for a Antique Neptune maritime Nautical lantern light with oil lamp.This is missing the panel of glass that is where the latch side is. The total height is 15" tall. The base is 6" tall. The sliding oil lamp section is unmarked- it does original to the lantern. It has the Neptune tag on the front. This is fresh from an old New England barn and will need cleaning- I have not attempted to clean this up at all. The glass globe has a flake of the bottom edge. It looks to be the original but I am not 100% sure of that.One of the cage bars is slightly indented. I think this is copper(magnet does not adhrere to it) Thank you. Antique Boat Semaphore Signal Lantern Keystone Ware Here is a great antique semaphore or signaling lantern for boat use. It is made of painted steel. Is about 8 1/2 inches tall, and it has a great magnifying Fresnel lens. Inside is a kerosene lantern with an adjustable wick. A spring loaded shutter can be hand actuated to cut off the light so that it can be effectively used as a signal device. It is marked“BOAT SIGNAL LANTERN” above the lens. I cannot locate a makers mark but it looks like a Keystone(Keystoneware) lantern. I've been told that Dietz made a lantern that was virtually identical in appearance to the Keystone version. Condition is excellent with very little paint loss. Although it is a little dusty. The lens is undamaged, as is the oil lamp. The gate spring is still strong and the shutter functions smoothly. Antique Wm Harvie ships lantern***1915
Almost a 100 year old Wm. Harvie& Co. Ltd. ships lantern. This is a copper and brass lamp in nice condition. The burner was removed to prepare to electrify the lamp. It is NOT there. It is clearly stamped with the makers name in two places. The serial numbers on the back plate and the brass hanger are matching#s. The original glass has a 7/8 inch crack in a corner as seen in the last photo. Other than that. The glass is good. Display it as it is, or add a 20 dollar burner or electrify and you will have a beautiful early 1900's piece of nautical history. Size is 12" tall. Not including the brass hanger and 8" wide. Antique 1800s Nautical Post Lantern Lighthouse Lamp Ship Mast Anchor Light Brass
Description: This is a large antique"birdcage" type oil lantern that was made between 1860 and 1890. It has a period Fresnel lens globe that is in good condition with a bit of chipping around the rim. But no cracks or structural damage. These brass lamps were re-produced by Perkins Marine Lamp Corporation but this one is an original 1800s light as shown by the beautifully decorated hanging ring at the top, careful handmade construction, etc. This one is also extra special in that it has the post fittings for use in a light house- it is missing the brass plate which would have marked it as such, but you can see where it used to be attached. These antique nautical lamps were used extensively for anchor lights, and after its life in a lighthouse it may have been used at the top of the mast during heavy fog or in the night to keep other ... moreships from running into the boat. It is missing the burner and bottom plate- it may have been wired for electric after the use of whale oil lamps declined, but please note that only what is in the pictures is included. This is a large nautical lantern measuring 14" tall and 6" wide. It is in"as found" condition with a dark patina on the brass, dirty glass, small dents, tiny cracks in the brass, and various other age/use related marks. Vtg Antique Maritime Nautical Ship Lantern oil lamp w bracket mount c1900
I have up for sale a rare vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s Marine Division ARTISTIC BRASS& BRONZE WKS NY ship oil lamp lantern complete with original hanging bracket. The lamp is complete with the inside oil lamp with original chimney and reflector. The lamp stands approx 18-3/4" to the top handle and approx 16-1/2" to the top of the lamps upper section. It weighs approx 9 1/2 lbs and the bracket approx 3 lbs +. It is in Good as found original condition- normal general wear but no real issues. Some light surface rust that will clean off. The glass is undamaged. PLEASE HOLD OFF MAKING PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY INVOICE. I have not yet packaged and will only do so once the item sells. Antique Tung Woo Hong Kong Copper Nautical Ships Anchor Light Lantern Lamp Nice!
Wonderful vintage Tung Woo. Hong Kong, copper ships lantern. This one is marked"Anchor. 9" high x 4.5" wide or 22 cm x 13 cm Some of the copper has"greened' and spread to cover other parts. I was able to wipe most of it off easily with a wet rag. This shows some wear and age. I have sold and shipped a lot of fragile items. This will be securely wrapped in bubble wrap with enough cushion between the box sides to protect it.
