ANTIQUE 1920's SHIP LANTERN ELECTRIC LAMP - ENGLAND - VERY NICE !
Up for your consideration is a very nice 1920's Antique Ship Lantern. This is a one of a kind item. Just turn the switch and watch it glow. It puts off a Beautiful fully adjustable Blue Glowing Light using a Vintage style 40w Edison light bulb with a full range Leviton dimmer switch. This awesome Antique ship lantern works perfectly and is in excellent vintage condition. The lantern was manufactured in the 1920's and is constructed of metal with brass hardware and a brass manufacturers name plate. The brass name plate does have some solder on the edges from when it was attached to the lantern during manufacturing. It reads ALFRED F. GENTON SYEN WORKS WASHINGTON ST. BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND. The globe is constructed of a heavy thick blue glass which looks black from the outside when the lantern is not lit. The globe is clean and has very ... morefew blemish's. This ship lantern lamp stands 17 1/2 inches tall with the handle up. The ring around the center measures 12 inches across. The base it's mounted to measures 8 inches across. This lantern features a nice Satin Black Finish. All new electrical which includes a new Vintage Style 40 watt Edison Light Bulb, a new Full Range Leviton Dimmer Switch, a new Vintage Style 7 Ft. Clothe covered twisted two wire electrical cord and a new vintage style plug end. All electrical connections are soldered and heat shrunk. The top of this lantern is hinged so the bulb is easy to change and you can use any bulb of your choice. No Reserve on this Antique Maritime Nautical Lamp. This is an oil or Kerosene Lamp. The top lifts open and inside the oil/kerosene and wick container; easily lifts out for refilling. The lamp is missing one of the round"brackets( There are two on one side and only one on the other. Also has been dented on the bottom on the rear side(see pictures) It stands perfectly and the dent does not effect the function. Actually it does not look to challenging to repair? The Lamp looks to be made of solid copper and has developed a rich patina, but being copper I am sure this can be polished to look like new if that fits your taste. Antique Brass Eric Canal Barge Lantern Red and Green Glass Nice Collectible
Antique Brass Two Color Boat Lantern Found in upstate New York. I am told that this is a lantern from the barges that they used on the Erie Canal. The lantern has a flat back and a rounded glass shade in the front. The glass is divided in the middle by a brass shield that extends from the front of the lantern- one side is colored green, the other side red, I guess to signal whether you were coming or going. On the top is a nice decorated piece that has little cut out heart shapes and a ring handle. On the bottom, there is a flap that can fold out showing the inside burner. The burner can be removed for filling and has wick with a turning knob. The lantern is in good antique condition, the glass is intact it is ready to display. Original tarnished patina. From an estate sale is an Antique Vtg Brass Wall Oil or Kerosene Lantern. It measures 13" long and the beveled glass windows measure 4" x 3" All windows are free of cracks or damage. There is some surface rust on the inside but no corrosion to the metal to cause holes or damage so it could be cleaned if needed. The very top of the lantern has been soldered(see photos) but it doesn't affect the workings of the lantern. Antique Sailing Ship's Cabin Oil Lantern on Gimble with Wick & Hurricane Globe
This is a small sailing ship cabin copper/brass oil lamp with glass hurricane globe mounted in a gimble for full motion on a rolling vessel. I have no idea of it's exact age but likely from the late 19th century. It's tarnished and I haven't attempted to clean it up. It measures approximately 7 1/2/ H by 3 1/2" W and would stand away from a ships bulkhead approximately 4 1/2" and weighs approximately 1 pound. It has the glass hurricane globe intact as well as a frabric wick so all you would need to do is fill it with keroscene(or whale oil? and light it up. Wonderful old lamp from the days of sail. It was wired for ship use as it has a ground wire as well? it has a very thick red glass with a few chips& cracks from use& age. nothing that compromises it's usage or condition. it weighs 11 pounds& is 10" x 6" the light itself has been tested& works. it has not been cleaned or polished by us, although it looks like someone took scouring pad or steel wool to some areas, none of which has caused any permanent or bad damage, but you can see these areas in pictures. the one crack we found is only on the inside of glass& can only be seen when held up to light& spun til found. I think this is a great piece. It has seen some wonderful storms.It has been painted a few times and seen the light ha ha It has no fuel holder but looks great with a candle on a table. I haven't cleaned it much I don't want to ruin its charm. It has a green glass.It is still quite sturdy except pieces that are damaged from the storms.

Appears to have been designed to burn oil(see photos) History: In the early l960’s. I purchased this lantern from a marine salvage yard in San Francisco. I disassembled everything and had the metal parts dipped to remove decades of paint and crud. And then sprayed the metal parts with clear matte acrylic. The objective was to just clean it up; not to make it look new nor“restored” At that time we had a waterfront weekend place on Bethel Island. CA, in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta area. Our dining table was placed before a window which overlooked Piper Slough. Where we moored our boat, and Frank’s Tract(lake) This lantern was hung above the table and centered in ... morethe window. During the wiring to accommodate 110/120V“shore power” I installed a small pull-chain switch at the bottom of the lantern. Here’s how it worked: If the adults were gathered round the table sippin. Dippin. And grinnin, we might prefer the red“mood light” only. If the kids were playing checkers. They would pull the chain to activate the down-light. There is ample space for a Par38 halogen floodlight. The beacon is lighted by three other internal lamp sockets illuminating the Fresnel lens. Hanging chain and canopy(as shown) included. This antique ship lantern was given to Hospitality Homes. A Boston MA based charity that provides housing in host homes for families of patients who come to Boston for medical care. It was purchased by the donor about 50 years ago from an antique dealer in Needham, MA. I don't know much about it and really can't make any promises. It looks to have been recently polished and is in very good condition. There is a removable lantern with a wick and glass that sits inside the lantern. The base is about 7 inches square and the lantern is about 15.25 inches to all without the handle up and about 18" tall with the handle up. Antique SHIP’s Globe Hurricane Lantern- Phosphor Bronze Early 1900's
Genuine. Early 1900’s ship’s lamp known variously as a“hurricane globe lantern, watermelon lamp, or onion lamp. It features a heavy glass globe indicative of its early manufacture. This lantern is complete with its original oil font and burner which fits into the bottom of the lamp with a positive half twist. The top of the lamp is fitted with a heat disbursing castellated chimney cap and the lamp is equipped with a stout wire bail handle for hanging. This diminutive little veteran of the sea measures 11 ½ inches tall and 10 inches in wide. Inclusive of the handle it measures approximately 13 ¼ inches tall. It is in good condition given its age and apparent actual use at sea. There is a small sent in the chimney cap and a stress crack in the globe which cannoy be felt when rubbing you fingers across it. Here is a great and unique piece for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an auction where it was commingled with a lot of marine/nautical items from an individual's collection. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself! I have never seen one of these before. The body is made of brass. The tall neck can be screwed off of the body by the fixed bolt head on the end of it. At the end of the neck is a pinhole where the fluid vapors could be let to allow the flame for lighting the lanterns. What looks like a key is where the flammable fluid would have been put in the body. Think that is true with the"pan" around the key to facilitate the pouring. There is a brass side ... morepiece with screws in it that does not go to the inside of the pot. So. Another way to hold it. or locking into a device that it was inserted into. The brass and wood handle has some good age to it. I suspect the brass at end of handle was resoldered back on to the pot at some time in the past. There are two patent dates on the piece. On the filler cap key is a date of April 19 1892. On the pot itself is a date of April 4. 1893. Appears the piece could be used as a lantern or torch. Looks to be c.Late-19thC vintage to me. Lantern is 20" tall not including the top swing handle. Buying as you see it as found in estate. The globe has a large hole on one side with crack lines going out from hole. The remaining thick glass looks stable as is however. Globe still displays well on good side. There are other ridge chips on glass. A couple of dings spots on shoulder of lamp. Top lid has dent on top. Vertical cage rod is pushed in where the hole in glass is. Antique Ships Masthead Lantern off a fishing vessel from Ireland
You are bidding a turn of the century masthead ships lantern. The lantern is made by the Cera lighting company Glasgow. It is in good antique condition and the clear glass has a small pinch out of it shown in the pictures. The handle and oil/ wax drum is made of copper. The main body of the Lantern is made of a different metal and is painted black. The label is made of brass. This is a beautiful piece and measures 17.5 inches tall to the tip of the handle and 7 inches in diameter. It weighs over 10 lbs. The lantern has a tremendous history to it. Fishing the coastal waters of south east Ireland.

Someone thought it would be a good idea to electrify this and they cut a hole in the bottom of the fuel tank/ font and put a socket in there with a bulb. there is no wire or electrical cord currently to the socket. there is electric cord that is coming out of the top, but not sure what it connects to. the bottom removes as you can see in the photos. great looking old nautical outdoor lamp.
