This lamp looks like a kerosene lantern but this one has a light bulb socket. It does not appear to be converted from kerosene I cannot find any company markings so your guess is as good as mine. One vintage ship lantern. It does not have its tank and wick for lighting. This lantern measures 19 1/2" tall. With the hanging arm extended up it is 23"and 9" in diameter. The prism glass is not cracked. The copper exterior has been coated at some point to prevent it from darkening I believe. This is a family estate item purchased as I remember in the early 1980's, in Europe. Very hard to find now.

Antique ships hanging lantern from the days of the grand sailing ships. This metal steel or iron(its magnetic) lantern was produced by H.A.G. Helvig MANUFACTURERS NEW YORK as shown on the tag on bottom front. Features a 2 sided lantern with a rounded front. There is a red circular glass shield in front of the kerosene or oil lantern wick. Back door has a slide into the hole to lock in place. Lantern can be hung by the top of slid onto a post on the backside slot. This is a riveted and welded piece with no screws as would be in a modern style lantern. SOLID with NO rust outs of holes. Red color is used in navigation to designate the port(left) side of a vessel. Removeable DIETZ CONVEX oil lantern from NEW YORK. Top removes easily to refill and change the wick.

Vintage“Perko” Maritime Bow Marker Oil Lamp Port& Starboard There seams to have been some repair to secure the Lenses and a Copper divide has been welded in on front of lamp. The Main case is galvanized metal and the top is brass. The Body is in good condition. With a mounting bracket on back and a Perko" oval stamped brass logo plate. The Lenses are red and a green(Port& Starboard) and in Perfect condition The Oil Burner seems to be a working unit with a wick still in place. The bottom of the lamp has a pinch clip insert. Antique Brass kerosene Ships lantern R C Murray Glascow Nautical Marine
This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

Offered with no reserve. A rare Perkins Marine Lamp. This is made by the Perkins Marine Lamp and Hardware Company of Brooklyn New York. Has a small brass ID tag just under the toggle switch. See picture#3. The lamp stands 15" tall and is 7" in diameter at the base. Copper construction. Features 2 tie down hooks at the base. Also has hook on the top cover. There are several metal"arms" that protect the globe. One of these is missing the top screw. See second to last picture. This is a dry cell battery operated lamp. It appears the necessary wires are in place. My father purchased this ship lantern in 1964 at moss point Mississippi.It came from one of the ships in the National Defense Reserve(Ghost Fleet) that was anchored in Blakeley River. AL. It's in good shape with a few signs of age and wear. The glass does have a small ship in it. Its condition is further detailed in the photographs. THIS HTF ANTIQUE SHIPS LANTERN FINGER LAMP FONT POT IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION AND IS NEW OLD STOCK. IT'S A BRASS LAMP AND WAS NEVER USED. IT HAS A BEAUTIFUL OLD PATINA OR FINISH ON IT FROM AGE. THERE IS SOME DISCOLORATION ON IT FROM AGE. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL BRASS BURNER AND COTTON WICK. THE BASE IS 1 7/8 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND IT'S 3 INCHES TALL. THE TOP RIM IS 2 1/2 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE HOLE IN THE BOTTOM WHERE IT WOULD SIT IN THE LANTERN IS 1 INCH IN DIAMETER. THIS TALL ANTIQUE FIXED GLOBE NAUTICAL SHIPS LANTERN IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. IT A RARE ONE AND HAS THE NAME C T RJVER& SON EMBOSSED OR RAISED IN THE RED GLASS GLOBE. THE SPELLING IS CORRECT AND NOT A TYPO. THE GLOBE IS CHIP AND CRACK FREE AND I WOULD DATE THIS LANTERN BACK THE 1870s. THE LANTERN IS METAL AND WAS PAINTED GOLD WHICH HAS SPOTS THAT HAVE CHIPPED OFF. THERE ARE 2 HOLES IN THE SIDE OF THE DOME THAT WERE DRILLED AT SOME TIME AND IT'S MISSING THE FONT POT. THIS ONE WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO YOUR NAUTICAL COLLECTION. Plaque is marked"not under command" Clear round fresnel lens is in excellent condition but sits loosely within lantern. Bottom handle in intact. Top handle is broken. It has been electrified.
