It is made out of brass and has one side with green ribbed glass and the other side with red ribbed glass. There is also a divider made of brass that separates the two colors from view of passing ships on the high seas(sometimes seen missing or damaged on other lights) The brass has a nice patina from many decades of life. There is a decent size dent on the slightly-domed top(please see photos) The side of the light is marked with Perko's logo and company info. Being made in Brooklyn,NY. My guess as to age would be from around the 1930s or 40s. It could be even earlier-back into the 20s or so- but I'm not certain. The glass is in good condition. With no major breaks, cracks or scratches. ... morethere is normal wear consistent with age on both red and green glass(in the center particularly- please see photo) Also. Each of the red and green also have a very small chip in one of the thin ribs that runs laterally across the glass. Bought many years ago from an old gent who said his father had gotten it from a boat that was being dismanteled-not sure when-but he thought early 1900s. I believe that the metal is heavy copper with cast bronze fittings. Or otherwise possibly brass with heavy patina. The light source was provided from some type of gas. The burner is still intact(see photo. The handle for maneuvering the light has the original leather wrapping-still in good condition. There is a small dent-see pictures. This lantern lamp came from my dad's garage. I can't tell what kind and guessing on the Bridge lamb.It appears to be in good shape. This lamp looks like a kerosene lantern but this one has a light bulb socket. It does not appear to be converted from kerosene I cannot find any company markings so your guess is as good as mine. Antique BRASS CABIN LANTERNS, Set of 2, Burns Candles, Early 1900's, 14" high
For sale is a particularly beautiful set of 2 Cabin Lanterns. They are made of brass and are quite ornate. I have seen these used on both old passenger ships and on old trains. These antique beauties burn candles. They have a spring that allows the weight of the candle to keep pushing up. Letting the candle self adjust. They would be wall mounted and have handblown chimneys. The chimneys are in perfect condition, showing no cracks or chips. Each stands 14" tall and are approximately 9.5" around the widest part of the brass cap. I'm listing these under maritime lighting as I got them with another set of lanterns that were marked with a White Star plaque. So I assume they had also been on a ship. In fact they likely came off of a White Star ship also, just before the White Star company started having them made with their own plaque ... moreon them. It's quite likely they were on the same ship just being traded out as the new lanterns came in. They were mounted just above the bunks. Really lovely antique brass spot lamp with all original intact components. I think this was once the spotlight on a boat because it is all brass. But I can't be certain because i cannot find another one like it anywhere. There are no markings of any kind. Measurements: 10" tall overall glass lens is 4.25" in diameter base is 3" across Original Mazda lightbulb. Original reflector in fantastic condition, some of the original wiring is intact in the brass coil housing. If i knew anything about rewiring. I would refurbish this in a heartbeat and make a really cool and unique lamp.

This antique brass/copper oil lamp is in excellent condition and has a beautiful patina. Only 2 tiny dings at the very top of the chimney about 2mm wide. It measures 13.5"H by 7" W. I can not find a makers mark. But I don't want to polish it to find out. Many antique dealers prefer brass or copper items in there natural aged state. The glass is in excellent condition, no chips or cracks and is beveled. Still has the original oil container with wick and the wick turner does rotate.

NICE Old Antique Vintage 1930's 1940's Chris Craft Perko Brass Pole Glass Light. This is an originnal. Complete and unaltered pole and light. It measures 25 inches high. The diameter measures 3/8 inches. The diameter of the glass ball lens measures 1 1/2 inches. The glass has no cracks or chips. There is a bulb inside that has not been tested. I have not taken it a part. The original cloth cover wire extends from the bottom. There is no damage to the brass pole. I do not know exactly what this came off. This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

My father purchased this ship lantern in 1964 at moss point Mississippi.It came from one of the ships in the National Defense Reserve(Ghost Fleet) that was anchored in Blakeley River. AL. A SET OF ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN BRASS GIMBALED NAUTICAL SHIP LAMPS
A good example of a ships gimbaled lamp from the Edwardian era. The numbers on the base are AP9009 and the makers mark is almost visible. They have been rewired at some point and have a switch in the cord. They are set into a Finished Mahogany base. They could use a good cleaning and have the usual scratches and dings which is not unusual for there age. These are not an exact pair but very close. The lamp shades are included.
