Antique Brass kerosene Ships lantern R C Murray Glascow Nautical Marine
This auction is for an antique ships lantern with a makers label that reads R C Murray limited 37 Cavendish SI Glasgow. Which is in Scotland. This was a working lantern and has seen some use. It has been lovingly repaired and shows some tarnish. I have tried to show all this in the pictures. I have not attempted to clean it or change the batina. It stands 18" tall. It is missing one pane of glass which could be easily replaced. This is a very unique and collectible nautical item, very rare to find in this good condition because these lanterns were used at sea and exposed to salt conditions over long periods of time.

Large, Rare Antique Brass Perkins Ship Lantern, BLUE GLASS
My father purchased this ship lantern in 1964 at moss point Mississippi.It came from one of the ships in the National Defense Reserve(Ghost Fleet) that was anchored in Blakeley River. AL. Hi. Up for sale is a vintage brass ship light that has been converted to a lamp. It looks great but has some wear and issues. It has some rust around the seams. There are a couple small chips in the glass. The glass globe is upside down. There is a screw missing off the back. There is no lamp shade. The lamp shade holder is loose. The dimensions(without the lamp extension) are about 16" to the top of the handle. It is about 10.5" deep and 10.5" wide.

Antique Marine Navigators Lantern Brass Signal Lamp w original Candle Boat Light
Antique Maritime Boat Navigators Lantern! It is Marked Navigators Lantern but it is so covered in old paint you can only make out the L. See pics. Somewhat rare piece. Brass with Original glass and original candle, see pics. Stands about 8 1/2" tall not including handle/hanger. It's been painted black over what looks like it's original green. Most of these I've seen have a back piece with two metal"handles" So either this one came without them and with this hanger or the handles were removed and the hanger added later. However I don't see any removal holes anywhere on the back but I do see possible old weld marks covered up with old paint. There is a metal peg missing on the front that slides the inner door around to block the light. The door does slide. It has both the inner brass slide door and blackened metal ... moresheathe. Hard to show in pics. Paint is severely flaked. It is in it's original condition as is the candle see pics. Glass is not chipped nor cracked but dingy, needs cleaned and has a cool air bubble in it but you can only see it when it's opened and I didn't get a picture. Very solid hinges are tight and fine. One small dent near globe on it's right if facing it. Hard to see but I got the best pic I could of it. Clasp is strong and door shuts tightly. Nothing wiggles or moves around. You could actually use this right now. All in original condition. The only thing I'm not definite on is it's age. It could be back as far as the Civil War era or just late 1800's. It is believed to have been used as a Railroad signal lantern. conductor's lamp on a train here in the Southwest but I have no evidence to prove that. Antique Copper & Brass Lantern Horse & Buggy
16 inch long lantern originally made in the late 19th century for the horse and buggy trade. Two sides are thick beveled glass and one has a round red glass center. Someone decided to wire it and use it for their house. We bought it years ago with the intention of restoring it to its original condition. The housing and top is copper. The bottom, which should unscrew, probably held oil. It has been dropped a few times in its 150 year history. So, it is a project. You could hang it up and put a candle in it, rewire it, or do what we meant to do and restore it.

Antique ships lantern lamp copper brass large look
This is a Large(approx. 17 1/2ins tall and approx 12ins wide) heavy( approx. 15lbs) vintage ships lantern. Which has a thick glass Fresno. It is metal which looks like brass and copper( see pics) and has a wooden base. It is electrified and has a place for a small bulb inside. I tested it with a working bulb but it did not light I imagine that it is either the switch or the wiring so it will need fixing The lamp came from an Estate sale and whilst I was not able to get a history on it I was told by the agents that it had been in the family for a long time. As you can see it has not been polished and is a little dusty( as were all the items at the sale! The glass is very thick and appears to be old with imperfections and bubbles. I found one minute flea bit chip in one of the ridges, I tried to show it on the photos but it can more be felt ... morethat seen. It is being sold as- found. This listing is for a large solid brass ship's lantern marked"PERKINS MARINE LAMP& HDWE CORP. It measures approximately 14-3/4" tall(excluding handle) and has a base diameter of 7-1/8" The lantern has been painted black over the brass which shows through in several places(see photos) The lantern is an estate find and we do not know if the paint is original. The high quality of the paint job prompts us to wonder. The glass globe has no cracks in it and the original tank plug is present. The glass is marked Perko 31-L-17A. The oil burner is missing. The lantern takes an oil burner with a 1-3/16 ID thread. There are some minor dings and dents in the lantern as well as a small split in the cap where it joins with the glass globe(see photos) There are no repairs and the split does not affect the integrity of the cap. This is a very different antique brass lantern. Probably used in the cabin of a ship or on a wall mount. The glass globe is not original. And not even old. But it does fit. I have never lit the lamp and is in as found condition. I am not near the coast anymore and figured someone may like it who is closer to the Ocean. It has great patina. I have never polished it. The fill cap has coinded edges and does unscrew easy. The wick adjustment does work and reads E. Miller& Co. Made in USA And then the large word Boston is on two sides of the lamp. Being all brass it was ment to be on or near the salt air. The inside is clean. I have never put fuel in the lamp. The lead on the bottom of the lamp was done I do not know when or what fore. The original glass lens is starting to turn a very slight amethyst color. The lanterns inside were made by E. MILLER Co. And are marked. Look at the pictures closely. This is exactly the way I found them. I think they would polish up nicely. They measure about 17-1/2" tall(including the bail) and each weighs close to 9 pounds. In excellent condition. And would clean up nicely if you choose to do so. Both show expected wear. And have a few dings. Overall in Very Good Condition.

Brass ships running lights tri color oil kerosene lantern WEDGE true antique d/l
This is a true nautical antique from the 1800's(or possibly earlier) It was used long before ships had electrical lighting. It uses an oil or kerosene lamp which illuminates the 3 glass lenses which have no cracks or damage. The lamp is marked WEDGE and the lantern has a hallmark which reads D over L in a diamond shape. This would make a great gift for the collector of nautical gear or a nautical museum. There is a wick attached but the turning wheel is frozen. This lamp could benefit from a professional cleaning but I NEVER attempt to restore an antique item as the new owner will have his own ideas. Could be electrified to be used as a porch light or mood lamp.

Beautiful brass maritime lantern measures approximately 15 inches tall(with lantern hanger. 18 inches total) x 6.5 inches(with ... moreside post hanger slots, 9 inches total) x 6.5 inches deep. Lantern is not dented or structurally damaged. Lantern looks like it was cared for very well for many years. But has been neglected in recent years. There are some"heat marks" on the base, and it looks"spotty" in places. These might be removed by polishing, and lantern is currently in need of polishing. Fuel holder part has been soldered near top(this may be a manufacturer's doing, and not a repair, since all seem to have it) and glass chimney is cracked near top. See photos for condition. RARE 1900'S ANTIQUE NAUTICAL- BOAT SIGNAL LANTERN - BRASS - ZINC- OIL BURNING
For your bidding is a Rare P and A Mfg. Antique Nautical Boat Signal Lantern with Brass Oil Burner. Font Lighting Popular in the 1900's to communicate to other ships. Or ship to shore before Marconi was invented and used. This beautiful lamp was given to me by my Aunt when I was a child. Both my Aunt and Uncle were avid collectors of memorabilia from Great Lakes Ships and Freighters. Often they would buy the inside remains of a ship when it was to be scrapped. Removing steering wheels. Telegraphs, chad burns, lanterns, name plates, ship wheels, compasses, steam whistles, you name it. Anything that had value to be saved later and become collectible. I have no doubt this piece came off a ship. I just do not know which one. This is a beautiful piece. Which I feel is museum quality, and should belong to a serious collector. That is why I'am ... morelisting it. It is in Very Good condition for its age. Era and vintage. There is some slight wear which is understandable for a piece this old. I have not polished the Brass in years. There are no dents. Or dings on the piece, a few minor spots of rust, on the inside signal shutter, behind the lens, which I'm sure would clean up with little effort. The 3" glass lens is flawless, with no scratches, cracks, or chips. The door opens. And closes as does the spring signal shutter. The belt clip is complete, along with the two adjustable carrying handles. Inside you will find the original burner. And wick. The top unscrews to fill it with lamp oil and it is adjustable for brightness. This does have Boat Signal Lantern stamped above the hinged door. Perko is NOT the only company who made these lanterns. The only markings on this one are on the burner wick adjustment which says P and A Mfg. Waterbury Conn, Usa. Which stands for Plume and Atwood Manufacturing. The company was established in 1869. Lantern is solid, heavy and the glass is intact and in fantastic shape, could be replacement glass but everything about this seems original. I am no expert so I am not sure.
