Back plate with rope and anchor is heavy and appears to be copper(magnet does not stick) Lamp Shades appear to be made from heavy tin like some of the old whale oil lamps(magnet does not stick) Surface is aged from natural weathering and shows authentic time honored oxidation and aged corrosion likely from salt in the ocean mist. Up for auction is AN ORIGINAL VERY OLD vintage solid galvanized metal nautical Ship Anchor Lantern. The classic anchor lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. The anchor lamp is machined in pure heavy-gauge steel sheet. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for 20 nautical miles. The tops to the main body and the vent top are both hinged. Thus the top swings open for access and ease of cleaning. For auction is an old oil lamp. Very unusual one, I think. I have not been able to figure out too much about it. It has some age though. The bottom is weighted, which I was thinking might indicate that it was to be used on a boat or ship. The only marking is on the knob and it has an R and V on each side of a anchor. I have had this a few years in my basement bar. But changing themes and it is time to let it go. I am not sure it is functional, but the way it is made I would expect that it might be. This lantern was made by Anchor and was given to me by and old man and friend he's 95 years old and can really use the money he told me he once sailed around the world in his younger days and used these four lanterns that are up for auction. His boat was named The Abigail. The lantern measures 20 inches high and with the handle up it measures 23 inches high and 11 inches wide and weights about 20lbs. Market fresh find; Original to the mid-1800's from the French Crimean war era. This is an Ouvrard& Villars Nautical Anchor lamp; Beautiful condition, it is constructed of hammered copper with a dual-ring brass cage. Original ruby flashed red globe. Marked O V Depose on the copper. May very well have come from one of the Ironclad Steam Battleships on the Black Sea, I purchased this lantern from the estate of a very meticulous and discriminating lamp collector. This piece has undergone a no-harm electrification. Which can easily be removed. The original oil burner is wired to the underside of the chimney. The original font is in place. The bottom of the font has been painted on the underside. I can't guarantee the font won't leak, but I suspect(but can't confirm) it was painted to stop any rust. Here is a real show stopper for you! Offered for sale is an original antique. Solid brass CANDLE BLACK OUT ANCHOR Lantern made by Bulpitt& Sons of Birmingham, England. This candle, black out lantern is extremely rare, and almost never found for sale. It is from the late 1800's and is complete with it's original heavy glass globe, which is in perfect condition, showing no cracks or chips. The lantern likewise shows no signs of rust or cracks. This lantern would polish up easily and make a stunning show piece! It is 14" tall with out the top and bottom bales being extended. It is 9.5" across and weighs 17 pounds. This is a large heavy thick glass fixture. It is wired. But untested. The lantern itself is approximately 17" tall. It has suffered a blow at the base and resulted in a couple crimping dings. The feul cell or the glass lens have not been damaged. Please see all images for actual item details.

Vintage Unique Brass Nautical Table Lamp Base with Ships Wheel and Anchor Here is a very handsome vintage lamp base. Circa mid-century modern era, perfect for your nautical home decor. It is all gilt brass except for the cast iron base. It is marked in relief on the bottom, Rubal Lighting Co. plus a number. This is just the base. There is no wiring, bulb, or lens included in this auction. It is in very good condition. Just a little minor wear to the gilding. The lamp is approximately 13" high. 8" long, and 5 1/2" wide at the base. The opening for the lamp in the back is 4" wide, 3 3/4" wide in the front. It weighs 3 1/2 lbs unpacked. Unique Vintage Nautical Ceiling Light Fixture Ship's Boat Anchor Brass
WOW! This great. Unique nautical-themed ceiling fixture would make a terrific addition to anyone's nautical-themed room or beach house! The fixture is composed of a great brass anchor that has six stars in the center and a rope embellishment that wraps around the entirety of the anchor. At the top and on the points of the anchor hang three lovely. Lantern-like fixtures that are screwed into the anchor. The fixture retains its original cloth-wrapped copper wiring and should be rewired prior to use. The sockets are all original and made of porcelain. Note that there are slight bends to each of the shades. It's hard to notice, but I try to be accurate in my descriptions. Approximately 17" from top to bottom and 15" across at the widest point. Please note that I have not tried to polish any of the brass in the event that the ... morenew owner wants to retain its rustic feel. The globes are dusty and the entire fixture could use a good scrub. You'll need a fitting that will hold the fixture to the ceiling after a pole is inserted through the center hole.
