Sweet antique sterling silver rattle. Approximately 3 inches long. Little Bo Peep sitting on a fence is pictured on one side. One of her sheep is pictured on the other. Great detail. As you can tell, this rattle has been very well loved! There are dings, scratches, a split in the seam on one side, the pin is missing that holds the rattle to the handle and the mother of pearl teether is broken. An absolutely charming Edwardian English sterling silver box. The embossed or repousse design is clearly Art Nouveau with a central vignette of a lady being kissed by a winged Cherub or Putti figure. Quite adorable and romantic. The silver is fully hallmarked for London 1903, with the makers initials for the well renowned London silversmith, William Comyns. This is a very old piece. It has to be at least 80 or more years old. It is marked Wallace Brothers sterling. You can see the detail at the bottom on one of the pictures. It is in good condition considering the age. There is a tiny dent(see pictures) along one of the inside rims. It also has quite a bit of tarnish. I decided I would get the basic tarnish off and then let the new owner polish up a storm. I am busy right now and trying to sell. Sell, sell so I can move, move, move. It is a rather heavy piece but I will have to find the scales to weigh it. It measures out to be about 12 and a half inches long and a tiny bit under 6 inches wide. Nice piece. At my age silver is way too much work!
