This is a French piece dating to around the 1860s-1870s. The necklace is done in a clever springy design with a little bit of stretch to it. The necklace has a tongue insert style clasp that snaps shut securely. Such that the necklace looks almost seamless when worn. This piece is in great condition. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs. The clasp is stamped with a French patent mark and the French eagle's head hallmark for 18 karat gold.
