Vintage Capodimonte Naples Lady with a Flower Blanc de Chine Figurine.
This auction is for a beautiful vintage white glazed porcelain figurine of a young lady with a flower. The figurine stands almost 6" tall and is about 3.75" in diameter at the base. It is in excellent vintage condition. Outside of a small firing crack on the girl's dress at the waste there are no damages nor repairs. It is marked at the bottom with the crowned N in blue under the glaze. There is also 9541.B. impressed on the base. Please see pictures for more details. Thank you for viewing this auction. Overall, these are ... morevery fine maps on strong paper, blank on the reverse with original handcoloring as issued, impression is very strong and crisp as seen in the pics, with no centerfolds making it a very nice map for framing. Size: The map image measures approximately 9 by 11 inches(23x28cm) on a 11 by 13" page(27x33cm) with a margin all around as seen in the main pic. Condition: The map is in Very Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging and original handcoloring as issued. Blank on the reverse, printed on a strong flexible page, not brittle, basically as seen in the pics. There is some minor edge wear as seen, otherwise it is very clean with a nice antique quality on strong paper that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual map you are bidding. Otherwise all the rest look good(white) Some minor wrinkles appear on the bottom left on some pages but does not interfere with the print. Cover page pulled away from the staple. But the staple is as tight as it was installed originally which is amazing. Book was folded at one time, but lays flat now. A unique dagger-style letter opener. Made in Italy in 1944 to commemorate the battles in Naples and Cassino. Referred to as“trench art” my opinion is that these items were made by the Italian citizens and sold to American G.I.s as souvenirs. This one is heavy(over 8.5 ounces) And appears to be nickel-plated brass(not magnetic, and not aluminum) Length is approx. 10 inches. Handle appears to be a topless woman, with grass skirt(or mermaid tail- you decide) with stylized wings crossguard(very similar in size and shape to the German army visor hat device) The letter opener part is double-edged(not sharp or sharpened) The tip is very slightly dinged(shown) Engraved(or part of the casting) Naples– Cassino/ 1944” No corrosion or worn-through plating. Nice heavy metal dagger with the date 1944 and NAPLES stamped into each side of the cross guard. I believe it is made of nickel and it measures 9” long and weighs 5oz. Condition is very good. F. Fidelio Mandolin Naples
This Fidelio bowlback mandolin is in quite superb condition and dates from the early 1900s. It is sold with a low starting price and no reserve. The design is firmly in the de meglio style with the noteworthy headstock motif and the zero fret. The ebony fingerboard is straight and level with a good low action. It is in very good condition and the frets have very little wear. The scratchplate is heavily decorated with silver on tortoiseshell as is the sleeveguard. The 21 piece bowl is of rosewood interspersed with lighter wood stringing. There are no repairs and little marking. The neck to bowl joint is solid. The bridge has been correctly set up and the intonation is exact throughout the fretboard. This is indeed a beautiful instrument which plays easily and with a full rounded tone. The mandolin is cased for secure shipping.
