Vintage Antique GRANA Watch Co. Wood Box w/some Sweep Second Parts
I acquired this box at auction some time ago. I'm not at all an expert in watchmaking. But I'll describe as best I can. The box is made of wood and stamped with gold leaf: KF GRANA WATCH CO. 521 Fifth Avenue NEW YORK Measurements: 9" long 4-3/4" wide 3-1/4" high Inside the box are 15 covered canisters. Some of which have parts which are labeled: KF-258 KF-251 KF-344 KF-304 304 314 PLUS OTHERS The canisters are set on a tray that comes out to remove further storage. Offered is a seldom seen historic Napoleonic Copper issued by the Kingdom of Naples of 3 Grana by Joachim Murat. Giacomo Napoleon in 1810. This is the scarcer of the two types issued this year. Listed as KM 254. This is about as nice as you will see of this scarce type. I grade it overall fine, given the striking equipment in use at the time. This is a large coin, 34 MM in diameter, of a bit over 18 grams. High catalog value.
