This very rare military model of watch was used by soldiers and officers of the Soviet Army(RKKA) during the second WWII. Producer: 1st State watch Factory. Founded in 1930 under orders from Stalin. The First State Watch Factory(Moscow) a name of Kirov was the first Serious Soviet watch and mechanical movement manufacturer. The history of the First Moscow Watch Factory is indissolubly connected with the history of Russian and Soviet aviation. All Soviet battle airplanes of WWII period were equipped with the airborne clocks made by the 1st MWF Kirova. The Red Air Force pilots and navigators flew with watches on their wrists with the“The 1st MWF Kirova” and later the“Poljot” trademarks. At the end of the twentieth(1927-1929) Russia(USSR) searched the ways to develop its own watch industry and bought two American watch factories: Dueber Hampton Watch& Co.Hampden) and Ansonia Clock Company. In April 1930 The 1st State watch Factory was founded on the grounds of the former tobacco factory"Zvezda" in Moscow. In May 1930 thirty american watchmakers and 50 wagonloads with machine tools and production facilities arrived in Russia. In Autumn 1930. Item: GULFLUBE” 5 GALLON MOTOR OIL CAN Description: For sale is a 5 Gallon“GULFLUBE” Motor Oil Can from the 1940’s. It stands approximately 16” high(to top of spout) and 12” across. The can has(2) openings on the top. One is a spout and the other is a regular screw cap. There is a swing handle with a wooden grip. I am sure my photos will best further describe what the can looks like. Condition: It’s no secret that this can has seen better days! Is it worthy of the trash? No. I don’t think so and that is why it is listed here today. From my photos. You can tell that it has some serious rust issues. In fact. There are 3-4 holes on the bottom from where the rust has eaten all the way through. Neither cap unscrews anymore although I do think with the proper“coaxing” they could come off. Artifacts, souvenirs and Historical Items pertaining to the career of Captain Rudolph Lincoln Johnson, Captain of the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence and recipient of the Silver Star in WWII for actions leading the Naval Task Force during the attack on Rabual Harbor and the invasion and occupation of the Japanese held Gilbert Islands. Captain Johnson was later Commander of the Naval Operating Base in Kodiak, Alaska, 1947 to 1949, this is the period when many of these items were accumulated. YOU ARE BIDDING ON: GERMAN STYLE WWII SWISS ENTRENCHING SHOVEL(DATED 1940) THIS IS A SWISS WWII ENTRENCHING SHOVEL. IT IS DATED 1940 AS EVIDENCED BY THE STAMPED NUMERAL 40 ON THE BLADE. PRODUCTION OF THIS STYLE SHOVEL BY THIS PARTICULAR MANUFACTURER OCCURRED DURING THE YEARS 1938 THRU 1944. IT IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE ONES USED BY THE GERMAN ARMY DURING WWII AND WOULD MAKE A NICE COMPLIMENT FOR ANY GERMAN REENACTOR. THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE BLADE IS STAMPED WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S INITIALS. RIGHT NEXT TO THE DATE. THE OVERALL LENGTH OF THE SHOVEL IS 21 1/2 INCHES. THE BLADE IS 6 INCHES WIDE AND 7 3/4 INCHES LONG. ATTENTION COLLECTORS: EVEN THOUGH IT APPEARS THAT THIS SHOVEL MAY HAVE SEEN ONLY MINOR USAGE. SOME OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT IS GONE.
