Up for auction a rather Nice 1938-1940 SOUTH BEND NO.77 8-1/2 FT. 3/2 SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD WITH CLOTH BAG. Not seen near as often as many other models from the South Bend Bait Company, the No.77 would sell from the early 1930's up until WWII. Because this example is equipped with the garnix stripping guide(stainless steel strippers would be used starting in 1941) and wrapped in black& yellow, we know it was built from 1938-1940. Rodshaft carries about a 95% complete"South Bend Bait Company- Quality Tackle" oval logo decal. Handprinted in white ink on one flat is"77- 8-1/2' while on an opposite flat reads"HCH or C" the old line weight designation equivalent to today's modern 7 wt. lines. Built with darkly stained Tonkin cane and comes equipped with extra tip section, red garnix stripping guide, 9) hardened ... moresteel snake guides& tip tops, nickel silver welted ferrules, hook keeper, NS winding check, chromed thread-locking reel seat with black spacer, solid cork Half-Wells grip and wound in black silk tipped in yellow. I've added a photo of the original listing from South Bend's 1939 catalog. Rod is in solid Fine to Very Fine condition, showing moderate wear that one would associate with normal use. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. All four sections are the correct equal length, with a few light sets. Original varnish shows thinning in several areas, but remains in decent shape. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, stripping guide, tip tops, ferrules, hook keeper and winding check are very nice. Reel seat works perfectly, with nice hardware. Solid cork grip is in good condition, showing moderate wear. Put up in a period cloth bag, which remains in very fine condition, with no holes or tears. NICE OLD 1940'S ADMIRAL TUBE BAKELITE AM RADIO MIRROR SHINE RESTORED WORKS GREAT
Here we start with a vintage& extremely nice looking Admiral tube bakelite AM radio in fantastic working condition. The model number on this wonderful Admiral is 7T10M& it was produced in the 1947 era. The cabinet is made of bakelite or thick plastic& it is a dark chocolate marbled brown in color which the marbling effect shows best in bright light. This cabinet has been cleaned& polished which still retains it's original sheen or shine& that shine is like a mirror glass shine that just keeps going& going& going like the energizer bunny. There are no cracks in the cabinet or noteworthy scratches but there is one very small flee bite chip on the very top back edge of the cabinet. For a radio that is over 60+ years old it looks& presents itself extremely nicely. All pictures can be supersized so you may get ... morea good view at this good looking& working radio. The plastic dial scale lens cover is clean& clear with no cracks. The AM dial scale& cool looking dial pointer or both in fantastic looking& working condition including a nice working dial light. The 2-marbled brown bakelite/plastic control knobs are in excellent looking& working condition.The louvered bakelite/plastic speaker grill is in excellent condition which also adds a very nice touch to the style& looks of this radio. The engraved Admiral logo below the speaker grill is in fantastic condition. The original back panel is in great condition& the loop antenna system that mounts onto the inside of the back panel is in excellent working condition which need no additional antenna wire to receive great AM reception. The chassis is in fantastic condition& it is a 5-tube unit with 2-controls#1-ON/OFF/VOLUME#2-TUNING& both controls have been lubricated& are in great working condition. Yellow transparent, or"Prystal" This is not an oxidized clear- it is golden yellow all the way through. This fantastic color polishes into an incredible clear. High gloss liquid color. Super rare. Genuine 1930's material, you don't see material like this often. A very nice piece of early cast phenolic- worthy of all your artistic endeavors. This was my Fathers has been in storage but the years have taken their toll. As seen in photo's it is worn around the edges and the crease's or folding areas on front and back cover are also cracked and worn. No pictures to go with it. It has 19 page's. 6 PK. SQUIRT BOTTLES (1940's/50's-7oz) w/ CARRIER-RARE
Here are original& vintage 6 Squirt bottles. Which are all 7 fl. oz. The dates are as follows: 2 1947's, 1 1948, 2 1957, and 1 1958. There are no chips or bruises to any of the tops or bottoms. One of the 1957's has a small chip in the front between the word"Squirt" and the yellow splash. There might be some small scratches here or there, but these bottles are clear, shiny and in great shape. Notice that the 3 1950's bottles have"Litle Squirt" on the back, but the 1940's don't. The patent dates on the bottom of the heavy cardboard Squirt carrier are 1949, 1950 and 1951. I surmise that this particular carrier is a 1951. It has a tear between a piece that goes between 2 bottles, but you can't really notice it. It's worn in some places, but the colors are bright, you can read and see everything ... moreon it and it's still strong and holds the 6 bottles. You certainly don't see an old 6 pk of Squirt bottles with an original Squirt carrier anymore. This item is of an era long gone, respected and valued by collectors, who realize that things like this aren't made anymore. I sell only within the United States. PayPal only. Please.
