A very good note will have more wear and less eye appeal than a fine note. But it will lack a significant flaw that good notes will have. Generally speaking, a very good note will be dirty but not totally trashed. Fine- 12-15) Usual Characteristics: little crispiness. Somewhat leathered look, numerous folds, faded colors. A note in fine grade generally has the appearance as if has been balled up and worn in a gym sock for a week and then straightened back out. A fine note will have no crispiness and a leathered look. This is a unique and RARE Lockett from the New York World's Fair. It has a raised bubble on front of Lockett with an artistic design of the World's Fair Theme Building. Inside the Lockett is two antique/vintage pictures in black and white. The Lockett opens up like a book and a picture is on each side. The Lockett measures about 1" in Length and about 3/4" in Width. Thanks for looking! On October 2nd. 1918, units of the 77th"Liberty" Division from New York advanced into the dense terrain of the Argonne Forest in France. History was made over the next 6 days as this unit, the"Lost Battalion" refused to surrender even though they were completely surrounded, constantly attacked, low on ammunition and supplies, had no food, shelter and limited access to water. Of the over 600 men first trapped in the"pocket" only around 200 walked out. They received 3 Congressional Medal of Honors(CMO) many Distinguished Service Crosses(DSC) and many other awards. Their leader, Major Whittlesey, was declared one of the three most important members of the American Expeditionary Force(AEF) by General Pershing, Commander of the AEF. This sign with the bottle in the"White Star Burst" is among the rarest of all the Dr. Pepper signs. To find one in any condition is a difficult. To find one in dead mint condition is near impossible. This piece is a specimen of drink pieces. And I'll tell you up front we paid crazy money to get this in our store. I guarantee this one sign will stand as a center-piece in even the most elite collection. The first you'll notice about this sign is its unbelievable condition and memorable design- the sign is made of fairly heavy steel and offers a self-framing design complete with the"brick Wall" background with the Dr. Pepper logo. Complementing the sign further is the old time bottle of pop ... morewith the recognizable 10-2-4 markings. This is an original envelope from Willoughby Photograph Shop in New York City with 12 1939 Worlds Fair Pictures. The Willoughby envelope was a promotional piece that read"Visit the New York World's Fair in 1939" on front side in addition to the normal store logo. The gentleman who took the pictures was an employee there prior to becoming an Army photographer during the war. The back of the envelope has some age discoloration on the sides and reads"REMEMBER- Your Films Can Only Be Developed Correctly ONCE" There is one duplicate among the pictures(top left in picture one) Pictures include the Czecho-Slovakia Bldg. There are two spoons from the 1939-40 New York World's Fair. One says"New York World's Fair. World of Tomorrow" and"1939" on the front, and Wallace A1 on the back. The other says New York World's Fair in the front and has'Theme Building" plus an illustration of same in the bowl of the spoon, and"Winthrop Silver Plate" on the backside. Both are about 6" tall. The larger 1964 WF spoon says"New York World's Fair 1964 1965" on the front. And"Unisphere presented by United States Steel" and"World Stainless U.S.A. on the backside. It is about 6" tall. The shorter 4" tall spoon says"New York World's Fair" and has"Top of the Fair Heliport" and an illustration of same in the bowl. The backside of the handle says"E.P.N.S. TH. These are 2 really neat pictures from the New York World's Fair in 1939. The vertical picture that is about 5 7/8" x 9 1/4" is of the United States of America FEDERAL BUILDING in the Government Zone. There are 2 views of it. The larger picture measures approximately 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" and depicts a beautiful building I can't identify overlooking a reflecting pool lined by the various country's flags. They both have a glossy finish and are in excellent condition. The larger picture has a light crease on the bottom left corner. I am listing some other pictures taken by the same gentleman who worked at the famed Willoughby's New York Photography Shop and later was an Army photographer during WWII. There is no writing on the back. These are pictures taken in 1939 at the Fair and not a recent copy. There was an exposition in Knoxville in 1982 and there was a Tennessee day at the 1939 New York World's Fair. I am unable to determine which of the two events the ashtray is from. It is marked TENN. CLAY, MAX. The ashtray is used and very good vintage condition. There are two small chips. The largest is shown, otherwise in excellent condition. It has a rust color marbling on a cream color background. It measures approx. 11" long x 2 5/8" wide. The exact age is unknown.
