This event required an invitation card for admittance. This'ticket' is just about the size of a standard 3x5 inch card. IBM wasn't a household name in 1939 as of the San Francisco Golden Gate International Expo; whenever the expanding business giant was discussed they were simply the International Business Machine Company.they got the IBM shortened moniker some years later. I suspect across the country in 1939 there was an identical presentation at the New York World's Fair. Also. Neither of us were around yet in 1939 and by the time we were. World War II was part of the history books. But when this invitation was issued, IBM was acknowledging that the economy was doing poorly; it was a period of post-Depression doldrums and business leaders and politicians were putting forth ideas to rebuild the economy. Unfortunately, the US economy boomed-because of war not peace. Participants in fighting the resistance in the years 1939- 1945, participants of the Warsaw Uprising and the soldiers who took part in the liberation of Warsaw in January 1945. Sign Medal for Warsaw 1939-1945 according to the decree was the disc with a diameter of 33 mm. A light brown patina. On the obverse side of the coin is stamped in the middle of the image of the siren with a shield and sword(with the coat of arms of Warsaw) At the bottom, there were three waves of lace. This is a world war II childs British Mickey Mouse gas mask. This was used by my father from 1939 who lived next to the Handley Page War plane factory in Park Street St.Albans and often used it in the fallout shelter in the garden during the Nazi bombings that targeted the airfield and runway at the end of the garden. The Iron Cross and Anschluss medal are in excellent condition and remain attached. With original hardware) to the ribbon bar which includes a large brass pinback with“C” clasp. This Iron Cross from World War II bears the year"1939" on the front along with the party symbol while the reverse has the year"1813" appearing on the lower arm. Symbolizing the year the award was created. I believe this is an Iron Cross Second Class. The Anschluss Commemorative Medal was a decoration of Nazi Germany awarded in the interwar period.Instituted on May 1. 1938, the medal commemorated the return of Austria to the German Reich. The round, highly detailed, die-struck medal was ... morebased on the 1938 Party Day Badge and designed by Professor Richard Klein. On the obverse of the medal. Symbolic of Austrian adhesion to the German realm, a man holding the Nazi flag stands on a dais bearing the emblem of the“Third Reich” he assists onto the dais a second man, on whose right hand a broken shackle still may be seen.
