Click to Enlarge Click to Enlarge Click to Enlarge This is an original vintage late 1930s era press photo which I believe shows Igor Sikorsky in an experimental aircraft which I think is an early prototype of what would become the VS-300 Helicopter. This photo measures about 8" x 10" and shows a group men in a military hanger with large airships visible behind them. I believe Sikorsky is standing behind the cockpit in the center of the photo. The experimental aircraft is attached by cables and wires to what looks like the underside of a large airship which is partly visible with a large AAF insignia. This photo came in a group of 1930s and 1940s press photos but doesn't have any caption card or information on the verso. I am not an expert but the guy in the photo bears a striking resemblance to Sikorsky so I think it is him. ... morePlease see the photo and judge for yourself. You are bidding on a 1939 antique original Swiss Schmidt Rubin original K-31 leather sling. This is all original with original sling clasp and button. The sling measures 48" long and is 1 1/8" wide. It could use a little tlc. We have not attempted to condition or clean. These slings were made by saddle makers around Switzerland. After they were made. They would add there own markings and stamps. A great piece of history! Great for your collection or for resale. From what we are told, some markings are more valuable than others. The sling pictured is the one you will recieve!

Very Scarce & Unique 1939-1942 Remington Senior Portable Typewriter - Excellent!

This machine is a Remington Senior portable typewriter. Vintage 1939-1942. This typewriter is a rare bird. Indeed. There were only 2,869 made, most under the“Smith Premier Portable” label, exported to England just prior to and during the Blitz of 1940. I imagine most of them were destroyed in the Blitz. Or“recycled” for the war effort. This beauty is textured dark gray, cleaned, adjusted, gently oiled, and polished. With Serial Number VS 760237, this machine is in the Smith Premier Senior range, yet sports a“Remington Portable” embossing on its paper table, making it rare even within its model style. Doubly rare. You won’t find one ... moreof these again. Attention. Serious Collectors. Rara Avis. A rare bird. Indeed. Hey. Don’t take MY word for it, go to. Richard Polt. The eminent Remington expert, shows this exact machine. Scroll down to“Smith Premier Junior and Senior” to see what I mean. These typers aren’t even in the“Bible” Typewriter Database tw-db.com. This is why my starting bid amount is what it is. This machine is for serious collectors. I can practically guarantee you don’t have one of these! This machine is in Excellent condition. It’s got a few issues. All cosmetic. There are a couple of chips in the edges. And a couple of rubs in the textured finish. I will be happy to detail these small blemishes with photos. Should you wish to see them. In addition. There used to be a round decal on the left side of the frame above the keys. You can still see the outline of it. I believe it was the iconic Remington“To Save Time is to Lengthen Life” decal seen on the old 1s and 2s. I haven’t seen this decal on any other Remington until now. A shame that it is worn away.
