Listed is a complete 4 volume set of Abraham Lincoln: The War Years by Carl Sandburg. Copyright 1939 by Hardcourt, Brace and Company, Inc. New York. Not sure of the printing edition number of these books, could not identify a copyright printing indication but the paper stock and page cuts look like old style maufacturing. The books are in real nice condition. I would say very good or better. The inside pages are extremely nice in all four volumes. Pages are real clean with no creases. Marks or torn pages. The text, illustrations and photographs are pristine, nice and bright. Some pages do have slight yellowing and random spotting but very minimal. The outside blue cloth covers do show some minimal wear but nothing significant. I would grade these books higher but unfortunately looks as though on volumes 1 and 3 there are small white dots ... moreon the front covers, maybe slight paint spray but it is not alot. The spine and overall integrity of the books are real tight and intact. I have provided pictures of the fronts and backs of each book with the inside descriptive pages of each volume and publishing information. Th e early versions this manikin came from in high end"original" condition with very little restorations i have seen in the $20.000 range. Heck even a game that is just there& works showing a lot of wear is like $ 7500 or so when i have seen them. On e of the main pieces is the bowler or the manakin. This part is heavy& is 11" tall from the top of his head to the bottom of the mechanism part. This is in original PAINT and also exhibits the original name on back as well still! His arms moves easily as shown in several pictures. Overall with some wear he is in good condition still. I can't say i have even seen this part ever offer ed on Ebay. The thermometer paper has discolored through the years but you can still see the numbers. Years ago a piece of tape was put on to keep thermometer from slipping. This pair of spoons are hall-marked in the bowls by the Leopard London mark and on the reverse of the handles with W&G. Lion Passant for.925 sterling silver and a D assay mark for 1939. They are quite possibly a pair of christening spoons and measure 16 cms(6 1/4" in length with the bowl 5cms(2" at its widest point and 6.5cms(2 1/2" long. The handle tip in angled off. Each spoon weighs 50 grams. They are set in the original presentation box with Wilson& Gill The Goldsmiths, Goldsmiths House 139 141 Regent Street, W.1 printed on the inside of the lid with the spoons set in bright green velvet. This auction is for a Polish Military Pre WWII 6x30 binocular case. This auction is for the case only. The overall condition is excellent for a leather item of this age. The stitching is solid and the leather is in good condition. The leather strap may have been a contemporaneous replacement. The case includes the sun filters in the storage compartment(one of the filters lens is cracked) The bottom of the case is marked HARRY L. GEHRIS. APRIL-13-1945( a search of the web did turn up a Harry L. Gehris in the 12 Armored Division, 92nd Cav Recon Squad, Troop D) which indicates the case was liberated from its Axis owner who presumably liberated it from its original Polish owner in 1939. Rare, 1939-1940 New York World's Fair, Blue "Spring Bowl~The American Potter~
Rare. Dish, bowl or ashtray embossed with one of the 4 Seasons, this one is"Spring" and is about 4 1/2" across the top and one inch tall. Homer Laughlin China Co. Edwin M. Knowles Co. Hall China Co. Paden City Pottery and the National Brotherhood of Operative Potters worked a pottery booth at this World's Fair. The called themselves"The American Potter" They gave demonstrations on the pottery wheels and created souvenirs. This is one of the the souvenirs and is quite collectable and hard to find. It is in very good vintage condition with a small spot on the back rim that appears to be where the glaze was not brushed on at manufacturing. These were open air demonstration souvenirs. Very cool round glass bank from one of the most famous Worlds Fairs ever the 1939 New York World's Fair. This unique glass bank has written on one side 1939 New York World's Fair and the other side has an image of the Trylon and Perisphere. The Trylon and Perisphere were two modernistic structures. Together known as the"Theme Center, at the center of the New York World's Fair. This collectible item appears to be in like new condition, I can't find a chip or scratch on it. Although it is designed as a coin bank, I don't think I would put coins in it because the only way to get them out is through the same coin slot you put them in.
