Vintage Silk Scarf with A King’s Speech King Edward VIII Abdication Dec. 11 1936
For fans of the British royal family. This scarf is a rare and wonderful treasure. Madly in love with divorced American Wallis Simpson, King Edward VIII abdicated the throne in 1936 in order to marry and live a private life unconstrained by royal obligations. Reproduced on this scarf is the text of his farewell speech. Brief, stiff-upper-lip stoic and heartfelt, it concludes, God save the King! The silk scarf has a dark blue border, cream-colored center and red print. It is quite old and has been tucked away, unused, for decades. Overall condition is quite good for the age although there area few issues on the upper right corner—fraying, a pin-sized hole and a small horizontal split. Please look closely at the last photo. Nevertheless it is terrifically unique and rare treasure.

The Wurlitzer Operator's Card Holder is found in most of the Simplex models and in models 500. 600, 700, 800, 750, 750E, 780, 780E, 850, 950, 1015, 1080, 1100 and 1080A. The Simplex models frame has much smaller mounting holes at each corner than the frames used on later models. This frame is one with the small holes. I do not have any of the small brass brads used to attach it to the mechanism board. As part number 30616 It is shown on page 21 of the model 1015 Parts Catalog and on page 34 of the model 1100 Parts Catalog. It is listed as part number 30316 for the earlier models. This is not wood and I believe the material was originally called ebonite. A model 324N and the seriel number is B2732562. This will allow you to do your own research should you choose. Originally purchased as part of a large group that was in awful condition. This one has been completely taken down and restored as much as possible without replacing original hardware and fittings. Among the interesting features is the keeper screws where pins are used instead of rods. I have attempted to photograph this for you. It comes exactly as you see it without a mouthpiece. However.
