ANTIQUE BRONZE INDIA TEMPLE TOY WITH HORSE AND CARRIAGE
This is an antique solid metal bronze horse and carriage temple toy that has the original dark patina. This toy dates from the last half of the 19th century. It came from an estate auction and I have not cleaned it. It has working wheels that still roll and the wheels turn independently of the axles. The toy comes in two pieces that fit together and measure 9 1/2" long when connected. The carriage measures 7" tall x 4" wide x 6 1/2" long with extensions. The horse measures 4" tall x 5" long x 4" wide and it is designed with saddle and harness.

Antique Hindu Temple Toy Cart on Wheels w/Bull Asian India mid19th-20th C
This is a vintage brass shrine/temple toy from India. Wheeled round cart[5.25 diameter] with Nandi figurehead[sacred bull of Shiva] Below figurehead is a loop to attach cart to a draft animal. A similar peacock cart online is dated to 1850-1899. I acquired this cart and another[Mayura. The sacred peacock of Hindu mythology] from an antique dealer in the late 90s. Height 3.75" front to back 7.25" width 6.25" One online source suggests children would play with toys like this in the temple while their parents attended Puja[prayer] and the children would act out in play the things they saw at Hindu celebrations like Durga day when horses pull carriages around the temple grounds and village. Festival dieties ride in these carts or carriages. Another source suggests these are called temple toys simply because they have been found ... morenear ancient temples.

Antique Bronze Coffee Pots, Vessels with Hinged Lids from India
One of these is a fraction smaller than the other which is approximately 9.75" The smooth-surfaced one has India etched on the bottom along with P300P in a dotted form. I found no marks on the smaller. Etched vessel. Both have hinged lids which are in fine working condition.

Exquisite antique gemstone decorated brass pendant from India - moonstone neckl
BEADART-AUSTRIA This exquisiste pendant was made in India in the late 1800s/early 1900s. It is decorated with colorful translucaent cabochons. I think they are gemstone and glass mixed. The small dangles makie a nice delicate tinkling sound when moving the pendant. Two dangles were missing- I have replaced them with fuchsia dyed agate beads matching the fuchsia stones on the pendant. the larger cabochond seem to be moonstone. The back is engraved with two sitting figures and shows some wear to the repousse work as well as a slight indendation all through the central part of the pendant. The pendant is 10.5 cm height( 4,13 in) and aproximately 8 cm the broadest side(3,14 in) and it weights 77 gr I have made the necklace with stones matching the ones on the pendant. The statue was most likely adorned in an old temple. In this statue Lord Shiva has five faces called Ishana. Tatpurusha, Aghora, Vamadeva and Sadyojatha. These five faces of Shiva represent the five basic elements viz. akash, air, fire, water and earth. In fact these faces can be called five forms of Shiva. This form is a rare form to find in marble carving. This amazing. Very old high quality carving has aged nicely over time and retains a powerful feel of spiritual presence. This wonderful Mamola musical instrument is made in India and appears to be intact and complete. This Mamola is old but as far as dating it I'm not an expert. This piece is from a local estate and has been packed away for years. It displays keys. Strings, case and appears to be fairly complete. The case and interior mechanism and playing surface show a lovely painted patina with decoration. The box is solid wood and the interior lid is painted black. The box is tight and well made. Revealing a blue plastic type handle for carrying. It measures 23 1/2" x 5" Closing latches are functional and keep the instrument tidy and neat. Up for sale is a solid brass turtle grater made in India. It came from an estate sale. And I presume it is 20th century. It was used to grate coconuts, but you can use it for cheese, vegetables or anything else you need grated. The tail is a citrus zester, and there is a ring through the nose to hang it on the wall. It measures 11 inches from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail and 6 1/4 inches across. The turtle is very well made from heavy brass with copper rivets. It has a wonderful patina. Though it could be polished up if you prefer a bright, shiny look. It has several marks: a design number, a patent number, a factory hallmark, a"2F" on the tail, and it is marked Kansara. In central Ladakh, a traditional bride was outfitted in arm cuffs, white bangles, amber jewelry, conch shells, a brocaded cape, embroidered shoes, silver ... morethigh ornaments, and the headdress draped over her body. Ladakh traditionally signified the wealth of the mother, which was passed along to her daughter when she married and left home to live with her husband. This Panel is the end cap part of the structure that the devotees would balance on their shoulders. Kavadi is a dance performed by the devotees during the ceremonial worship of Lord Murugan. The kavadi consists of two semicircular pieces of wood or steel which are bent and attached to a cross structure that can be balanced on the shoulders of the devotee. It is often decorated with flowers. Peacock feathers(the vehicle of God Murugan) among other things. Some of the kavadis can weigh up to 30 kg. Antique Hand-Painted Mughal Ganijifa Cards. India, circa 1850, complete set of 96 Antique hand-painted Mughal Ganijifa cards from the 1850s. Made in India of 96 circular intricately hand-painted and lacquered papier-mache cards. The deck is divided into eight suits. Twelve cards per suit, and each suit contains a Mir/King, Wazir/Minister, and ten pip cards. The deck has four superior suits, the strongest being Taj(crown) followed by Safed(silver coin or moon) Shamsher(saber) and Ghulam(slaves or servants) and four weak suits, which are Chang(lyre or harp) Surkh(gold coin or sun) Barat(document) and Quimash(cushion) Ganjifa is a trick-taking game. Antique wood hand carved. Hand painted Eastern/ Indian/ Asian cabinet with drawers and column partitions inside. Hand painted beautifully with florals, black lacquered and deep red cinnabar color, see photos. Front doors close with latch at top and center. They open up to reveal a gorgeous painted interior, wood carved spindles, 2 functional drawers with partitions. Nice large size. 26" high, 19" wide, and 12.5" deep. Could be used hung up, or as a side table. Some cracks in paint and chips due to age adding to the charm. See all photos and closeups.
