This quality of hand made embroidered shoulder bag is almost never seen for sale even in India. poor quality bags are made for the tourist trade in North India to supplement yogi's incomes. But they do not compare to this one* This one appears to have a Tibetan"lam" symbolic letter on the front& an OM symbol on the back in great colors. It has many hidden pockets. 2 working zipper pockets, interesting patterned fabric lining the inner pockets, trisul tridents embroidered around the sides& on the strap, 2 pom poms on the cover flap& 5 pom poms with rudraksha beads attached to the bottom of the bag. It has slight wear. It has been used, a bit of embroidery coming apart at the corners& slight dust& sweat staining as it was worn close to the body, but I would say it is in very good shape. It was probably made in the 1970's. Main part of the bag is 10 inches by 8 inches. Length of space from top of strap to top of bag is 10 inches(often they do not have sufficient room for shoulder- this one has plenty) the full size from top of strap to bottom of the pom poms is about 20 inches. This is a perfect example of a rare Hindu historical item- it should be in a museum! Or by wearing it you can show how much you love the uncommon life& utilitarian art of Indian sadhus.

12" Antique or Vintage Carved Wood Hindu Goddess Statue India
This is a 12" statue carved from wood. From India. She is of a goddess but I am not sure which deity. She is dressed in the ancient style, and her facial features are delicate and beautiful. She looks especially graceful when displayed against in Indian sari and she would greatly enhance any Indian-themed décor. I am not certain how old she is, but she does show signs of age. She weighs over a pound and wobbles slightly when she stands, so please be very careful where and how you display her. I accept paypal only, no e-checks please. Antique hand-etched, enameled 10" pair of INDIA SIGNED brass vases
Right under my nose all this time.I hold estate sales and see valuable. Unique pieces all the time but never noticed or cared for this pair at my own home(family home) until I put some Wright's on them and uncovered their beauty. They are signed"IAM Made in India" and are 10" tall. Most likely early 20th century, as before that time it would be more likely they would simply say"India" without the"made in. part) if anything at all. Solid brass with tuliped top, intricately etched, and enameled/painted with red and green throughout. Simply remarkable pieces. I'm not the best polisher, so they can use another go at polishing.

Description Reduced to very lowest price in our spring sale is this antique ancient circa 16th-18th century or older India Art small Pancha Mukha Linga(Lingam) Is finely hand carved in black stone(steatite soapstone) of Pancha Mukha form showing the five heads of Shiva crowning the Linga. The Linga emerges from the Yoni base, a symbol of Shakti female creative energy, around the inside is Naga(Ananta Naga- eternity) the great serpent. To the right is the figure of Nandi the Bull Mount of Shiva and to the left side is the figure of Parvati, consort of Shiva and mother goddess. They are so arranged that they may receive any offerings placed upon the linga, all carved in the finest detail and very early in style. This beautiful piece has many centuries of delightfully rounded and smoothed wear. There is whitish encrustation to the details and ... morearound the underside of the yoni and where the side figures meet it. The linga was carved separately and either sat on a square peg or was pegged into the base, this has been set in place with old natural resin. There are small chips to the tip of Shiva's top knot and his right ear and another to Nandi's left horn, all very minor and well worn in and polished by handling over time. There is also a nick to the bottom rim edge of the yoni stand at the foot, which is not so worn in and therefore of a later date, probably happened in the 19th century, there is no other damage or repair(please see photos) For reference please see: The Hindu Pantheon by Edward Moor. Historic Antique Slave Bracelet from India - Brass/Metal
This is an historical antique. It is a brass/metal slave bracelet from India. My husband and his family lived in India in the mid 50's. He remembers his mother purchasing this slave bracelet in 1959 in Delhi and the dealer explaining to them what it was. It is a piece of history from the 18th century. The bracelet originally had hinges that were probably closed with some kind of peg. You can see this by the holes on each side where the hinges were placed. It is a very heavy piece. A little over 2 lbs. It was beautifully crafted with very detailed metal work. Sometime, possibly in the 19th century a brass piece was inserted to create a bowl. It is missing a"tooth" on the top rim(see photo) But still a very beautiful item to display as a historical piece. Please e-mail me if you have any questions.

Antique India Folk Art Wood Hope Chest / Marriage Box Trunk Hand Painted
Hi. For sale an antique wood/ chest(circa 1800s/ early 1900) marriage box. I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There are hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side ... morehas a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. Two Vintage Brass vases from India. Lathe turned, hand made and etched. Some detail painted to highlight the work. They both have two small holes in the same place on one of the"lips" of the vase. The underside of each base bear the markings; MADE IN INDIA 1012/ 38. C I do not know what these markings actually mean. The 38 may be the year and the physical appearance suggests that they are that old. This is a no reserve auction and economy shipping to the lower 48 US states applies. Antique Indian Bidriware. Bidri, Silver Inlaid Circular Plate Probably: Hyderabad. Southern India Search This is a small antique Bidriware circular tashtari(plate) ornamented with two borders. Each being different. The circular slightly concave plate has a central rosette. Birds, floral motifs and vine creepers surround the rosette to the silver scrolling vine border. The plate has a mend from the original casting- as the inlay has not been disturbed and is complete on the surface over the mend. The plate has used the Tarkashi technique and Tehnishan technique. The silver inlay is basically intact and in excellent condition. From other similar examples I have seen this Bidriware plate probably dates from mid 19th to early 20th century. Antique Ganesha Ganesh Hand Carved& Painted Wood Gilt Mask from India The mask is rather unique and one of a kind as I haven’t seen anything similar through all of eBay and Google Images. This is an extensively carved and detailed piece of art. Not only a collectible piece but truly a work that stands out above the rest with all of the detail work put into this piece The trunk does not curve off to the left as in so many others, and instead is curled around to meet with the lower lip. The teeth are and tusks are done in white with black painted lines that make the face seem more fierce, the tips of the trunks are missing, worn down with time and use. The lips are done in a deep red, and around them is what looks to be a carved and painted black goatee and mustache. The eyebrows are done in the same fashion and go from the eyes all the ... moreway down the sides of the face. The eyes are painted in white, black and red and are quite large to the rest of the piece. The ears on either side hang down and are done in shades of off yellow and black. The crown is highly detailed in golds, reds and blacks. Heavily gilded and deeply carved. This piece opens from the backside though to the front of the mouth so that the wearer could see. Given the amount of work that went into this piece. I don’t believe this to have been made for the tourist or collectors trade. There is some paint loss and a crack in one ear where it appears the wood has split due to it not having been dry before carving. That or it’s simply again a matter of the age given to this piece. Granted though, this shows all the signs of having been a genuine and used piece, as there are two small holes in the top for tying to the face with a string or ribbon. Measures at 13” Tall by about 9& 1/2” Wide and 5& 1/2” Deep. I've tried showing each and every side and detail to this piece so that you're able to see the condition.
