This is a stunning piece of jewelry. Made from a Tiger's tooth(a hunting trophy) from India in the time of the Raj. The tooth is beautifully mounted in good quality silver and dressed with a blood red Garnet. There is a lovely delicate little silver stem with two leaves curled around the lower half and silver rod and ball behind. These items were made in the mid to late 19th century. This carving depicts Lord Vishnu and Lard Brahma. Brahma is shown behind a fence with his multiple faces. Vishnu seems to be reaching out to Brahma in a conversation. I am not sure what story this carving is depicting. This carving is just one out of many panels that would have adorned the Chariot; what a magnificent sight it would have been. Vishnu. Jeweler thought the bracelet was likely from the 1920s/1930s) Ox Bone and Brass; the center of the bracelet holds a beautiful dark green cabochon stone of which the jeweler told me was Jasper(can't guarantee) or possibly a dark Bloodstone. The closure is a pin that lifts out of the holes to open. Overall Excellent Condition with the exception of some spots of corrosion on the metal(pretty green patina is a nice confirmation of age! I did a quick polishing but did not get all of it. Especially in the crevices around the tiny beading. An amazing and extraordinarily rare find. Circa early 20th century hand made wooden spinning wheel from India- an iconic symbol of the country's independence from Great Britain. It is still in working order and spins. We believe it is possibly from the Rajasthan region. Very heavy wood and intricate decorative carving on both sides of the wheel and the base. It has the traditional repousse leaf design for which silver pieces from the Kutch Cutch region in 19th Century British India are known. This piece belonged to my great-grandfather. Dayaram Gidumal Shahani, a prominent Sindhi during his time(the primary language spoken in the Kutch Cutch region is Sindhi) The piece is an excellent representation of Eastern and Western silversmith collaboration and history and is a great addition to any antique silver collection. ANTIQUE INDIAN SILVER PARTABGARH ENAMEL SNUFF/ TRINKET BOX. Circa 1850-1890 We are pleased to be able to offer for your consideration this antique round gilded silver box with a red glass top that is inlaid in the thewa technique. Made in India. Mid-late 19th century in the Partabgarh region, Jaipur. T he round red glass top is inlaid with 22K gold. The top is an amazing feat of Indian master craftsmanship. The details of the skillful process used to create this work was a closely guarded secret known only by handful of Indian families. The decoration is of an exotic Indian Hunt Scene with a properly attired hunter mounted on an elephant spearing a lion surrounded by leafy foliage and floral motifs fitting into an area that measures approximately 1 1/2 inches(3.6 cm) in diameter. See photos for details. Measurements: This little box measures approximately 1 inch in height x 1 5/8 inches in diameter. The inlaid round glass artwork is bezel set on the lid and is approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Condition: The box appears to have had gold gilding all around inside and out. However. Most of the outside gilding has worn away with only a trace amount remaining. The inside still retains most of this gilding. The bottom of the box does have a few dents. Please note the photo above for this condition. Not the side you normally see when being displayed. The hinge is firm, functional and in pretty good shape. No other issues to report. Beautiful and Bold Antique Bangle/Cuff Bracelet made in India(original label still attached. Jeweler thought the bracelet was likely from the 1920s/1930s) Ox Bone and Brass; the center of the bracelet holds a beautiful dark green cabochon stone of which the jeweler told me was Jasper(can't guarantee) or possibly a dark Bloodstone. The closure is a pin that lifts out of the holes to open. Overall Excellent Condition with the exception of some spots of corrosion on the metal(pretty green patina is a nice confirmation of age! I did a quick polishing but did not get all of it. Especially in the crevices around the tiny beading. There are also a couple of slight shallow chips along the top of the bone that are not noticeable unless looking up close(see the last photo) Make sure to review all photos and ask any questions prior to bidding.
