Each doll is a Russian woman or girl in traditional costume which generally includes an apron and head covering. Each one is unique. With a different outfit and facial expressions, and is holding something different in her hands. The largest doll, which is 6" tall, is holding a flower and a handkerchief; the next, what appears to be a fishing net; the next, a decorated basket or purse; the next, something gray between her thumb and first finger. I'm really not sure what it is supposed to be. The last, and smallest at 1.25" is holding a basket of eggs. The dolls are very colorful and the detail is amazing. They are from an estate sale and in very good condition. The largest doll fits together loosely. The next in size fits together the tightest and can be rather hard to open. The 4th doll in size has some paint streaks on the back of her head and some minor wear on the edges of the two pieces where they meet in the middle. These dolls would look great on display.
