Museum Replicas Hand and a Half Sword circa 1500, by Windlass Steel Crafts.
Up for sale is a rare Museum Replicas circa 1500's hand and a half sword. Also called a bastard sword. It was made by Windlass Steel Crafts exclusively for Museum Replicas many years ago. And has been out of production for some time. The blade cross guard and pommel are made of high carbon steel. The grip is stained wood. The scabbard is leather with a steel throat and chape. I cannot remember how old it is but I do remember it's list price was $355.00. The Blade is 34 and 3/4 inches from guard to tip. 2 inches wide at he guard, 1 and 1/2 inches wide just before the tip, and 3/16 ths. of an inch thick. The curved steel guard is 10 inches from tip to tip. The grip is 7 inches not counting the round fluted pommel that can also be used as a gripping surface. The POB is 5 inches from the guard. Over all length is 44 and 1/2 inches. Weight ... moreis around 3 and 1/2 pounds. The condition is extremely good with only minor scratches from cutting exercises. The sword was sharpened at Museum Replicas and I have not had to re-sharpen it. There are NO nicks. Bends, chips, or other damage. This is a truly great sword and will serve some one well for a long time to come. I will be sorry to say good by to it but I am just getting to old to enjoy it.

Hand blown and with a beautiful wrythen or ribbed design. The set dates from around 1880-1900 and its unfussy design shows an arts and crafts or art nouveau influence in the design and manufacture. The colour is a most attractive shade of pale green and this is a very decorative as well as useable pair. Both pieces have been hand blown and have ground off pontils. Up for bid today is an extremely rare pair of buttons carved by Roycroft master carver Charles S Hall and dated 1935 so this would have been while he was working at Roycroft. These buttons were carved from Orange wood which is unusual. The buttons are both marked CVD by C.S.Hall 1935 Orange. The buttons are in good vintage condition with nice patina. The success of the exhibit resulted in the incorporation of Boston's Society of Arts& Crafts on June 28, 1897. By 1906 the Society was devoted to copper, sterling and gold jewelry as well as enamel, flat and hollowware. Although Frans Gyllenberg had started his career as an apprenticed silversmith in Sweden, his medium had turned to copper during and around his time with the"Society" and their Handicraft Shop, roughly 1907 to 1913. Gyllenberg's time there was spent among other Arts& Crafts notables namely Mary Knight, George Gebelein and Karl Leinonen. Around 1926, Frans Gyllenberg formed a partnership with Alfred Swanson and they dealt exclusively in the creation of sterling silver pieces which continued until the end of the Great Depression. From the time period of 1913 to 1948 the Society of Arts& Crafts Boston elected 68 Medalist Craftsmen. This wonderful little copper bowl comes to us from the height if the Arts& Crafts period. It survives in perfect condition with no dents or dings. But it is not TOO perfect, still showing every strike of the artist's hammer on it's nicely textured surface. It has pretty rolled edge and a slightly elliptical shape. It will be an outstanding addition to any hand crafted copper collection or a great little decorator piece to elegantly accent any decor. Stand was found in an the attic of 1837 era home and it was exposed to the elements being near the roof vent. There is some rust present on the iron screws as photographed but the bronze is unaffected. A couple of screws are missing at the top hoop before the curls but it is structurally sound. EMBROIDERED HOPI KACHINAS You are bidding on 25 different embroidered Hopi Kachinas. I did not take pictures of all of them but I have listed by name all 25 below. These were created by hand almost 50 years ago. In 1970, using a machine to hand embroider each Kachina. The Kachinas vary a bit in size, with most being being 5 1/2" and 6" high. They are all in a handmade album mounted on mats that measure 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and covered with a thin plastic sheet. The Kachinas can be easily removed from the mats and may be otherwise framed- or they would make a fabulous quilt. They all are in very good condition. Superb Hand Embroidered Arts& Crafts Hanging on Silk Satin of Birds& Toadstools A/F Description of the item Please note.colours are much brighter than what it appears on my screen. Due to poor winter lighting for photos.they are vibrant! I have had this beautiful original antique piece for many years. Always intending to mount and display it, but it has remained packed away, ... morewhich is a shame. It is a large piece measuring 75" inches) x 13" and was probably from a pelmet or a bed hanging. It is original to the Arts& Crafts period.I would estimate it as late 19th century, and has been beautifully embroidered in richly coloured silks throughout onto a heavy silk satin fabric. The photography was very difficult as the heavy furnishing silk satin ground is an unusual colour with a sheen.almost an olive green but with a touch more gold in it.on looking at the back. One can see that the warp threads are brown and the weft green, which gives a sort of glow to the sheen of the fabric. There are seven beautifully embroidered birds amongst the branches a tree with heavily embroidered flowers or cones in rich chestnut brown. Along the ground are flowers and toadstools in a lovely mix of colours. The trunk of the tree and some of the stylised leaves( or needles.if it is a pine) have been embroidered in fine wools. The vast array of embroidery colours are all rich and have not faded. And neither has the fabric, so it has not lost any of its beauty.however there is damage and wear to the piece which I shall describe in my condition report below

Original Craftsman Arts and Crafts hand hammered copper inkwell with original patina.Very unusual styling. Looks like a one of a kind piece. In excellent condition. I didn't clean it as not to disturb it's finish. The cover fitts over the heavy glass insert perfectly There are a few flea bites on corner of glass inkwell. It measures about 5 1/2" high and 7" wide. Inkwell is quite heavy with glass insert. Please email me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
