Vintage Antique Brass Lamp Finial, Hand Hammered Arts & Crafts, fits on Lamp Rod
Here is an old Arts& Crafts or Mission brass lamp finial. We think this was hand formed and not cast. It looks like it was turned on a metal lathe and then hand hammered. You can see the evidence of both steps when you look at the bottom of the finial. With the rings from the lathe turning or machining step and the dings around the edge from the hammering step. It is about 1 1/4 inches tall. This finial has a larger threaded hole designed to fit onto standard lamp rod(shown in the final photo) so it may have been designed to be the top of a floor lamp or the top of a table lamp. The finish has mellowed or darkened over the years with tarnish, giving it a nice patina. It has the simple shape that you would expect from an Arts& Crafts movement piece.

Pitcher measures approximately 6 3/4 inches tall, 7 inches from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout, with a 5 1/2 diameter for the widest part of the lower pitcher. This is a very decorative hand-carved Arts& Crafts teapot stand that has bags of style. The stand is large and octagonal in shape with four nicely shaped feet that give it a bit of height.The stand is made from a well figured oak and the centre is deeply carved.By hand, with a quatrefoil leaf design that has a central flower motif.It is such a large teapot stand that I have wondered if it is for a plant instead but then the design probably wouldn't be seen.There is some light water marking around the edges,i think this is where the teapot has dripped,but this will no doubt polish-up a lot better.It measures approx.25 cms x 25 cms excluding the width of the feet.and it stands 3 cms high. Although it has been used as a Candleholder for the past 15 years or so, since it sprang a leak from the base rim edge. It will require a small solder or repair to the rim if is to be re-used as a vase. It does display very well either as a free standing piece or with a broad candle in it. Please note: The pewter is in general good antique condition commensurate with materials. Great age and use. The pewter has a super antique patina with typical wear commensurate with a genuine antique handcrafted ... morepewter vase. This was found at a high-end estate auction. Here is a stunning vintage Arts& Crafts style decanter made with hand blown pinched glass. The shoulders of this decanter are decorated with an amazing overlay in copper(my guess is copper. See photos) in a leaf design that is VERY arts and crafts style. The copper is accented on each of the four corners with"berries" of(probably) pewter. The round head of the ground glass stopper is also overlaid in copper, and DENMARK is embossed in this area. This artistic piece is rare. Unusual, and totally a show-stopper. The condition is excellent, no cracks or chips or dents or problems. 6 Matching Wood Hand Carved Appliques, Mahogany Finish, Furniture Making, Crafts
Here are 6 great salvaged furniture pieces. These are 17" long by 4.5" wide at the base. I believe they were hand made. Because they differ slightly in that they are not quite uniform. They are stained a mahogany color and I can't tell from the backs what wood they are, though I think they may actually be mahogany. The bottom half have a vasiform shape, and the top half ends in a leaf design. These applied carvings could be used in lots of furniture-making or in"re-purposing" or restoring old pieces. These are not masterworks by any means. But everyday embellisments that can easily be glued and can be used many ways, including carpentry and crafts. Nice to find 6 together! Amazing Old Hand Made Wood Architectural Model for ARts& Crafts Period Bungalow. Prairie Style House. It is in Great Condition- one small spot where the wood on the edge of the roof slivered off and there is a small piece about 1/4" x 4" missing(see last photo) otherwise Excellent! This is really saying something because I believe this is quite old and somewhat fragile. It is Quite Large but not very Heavy because of the lightweight wood used in its construction. I am not sure what kind of wood it is made of but I think it may be cedar. It is more like the color of cedar not balsa. It is 32-5/8" in length, 26-7/8" in width and 12-3/8" in height. This is for a nice genuine arts and crafts copper photo frame from the early 1900s. It has a classic hand beaten finish and a lovely unpolished patina to the metal. The frame tapers slightly towards the top with simple appliqués to each corner. It has its original stand on the back and the copper is marked with a registered design number 672006 dating the frame to around 1920. It is in excellent condition with no damage to the frame although a couple of the pins that hold the back in are missing. This does not affect it though and the picture stays in perfectly. It measures 210mm(8.25" tall by 170mm(6.75" across at the base. Description HAND BEATEN COPPER CADDY SPOON CHASED HANDLE Possibly Arts& Crafts 5¼ inches Nice thic k quality strong. Solid copper, spoon or scoop. I can only guess that it was made as a caddy spoon as it is the right size and I can't think of any other reason for it. The bowl has been hammered into shape and is very rounded. A half sphere, in shape with a diameter of almost 1¼ inches. The thick metal handle is hand decorated all the way up with patterning and having looked carefully I believe an owl and a butterfly. The top bends forwards and there is some chasing on the back of this part. The rest of the back of the handle is smooth and undecorated. There is no makers mark. It is hard to tell as it is hand made but it may have lost the tip of te handle? It's definitely northern European. But whether Belgian or Dutch in origin is a toss-up. The design and methods are Belgian, but the designs are stereotypical Netherlands. Your guess is as good as mine; all I know is it's a lot older than it looks at first. The surface has that tiny fine crackling pieces of ceramic sometimes develop with age. Antique 19th Century BELGIAN BARLEY TWIST Hand Carved ARTS & CRAFTS Rare CHAIR
So beautiful. This gorgeous hand carved chair is made in the small country of belgium I actually only accidentally discovered the region of origin! I have two of these chairs. Found at an estate auction of a wealthy older couple. I bought two of these chairs, very similiar in design, carvings, weight of the wood, and even size. When I brought them home I was cleaning them up. Tightening hinges, recovering seats, and when I had the seat of the other chair off, it was stamped'Made in Belgium' I would never have even imagined they were Belgian made chairs otherwise. After reading on chairs made in Belgium(esp in the late 1800-early 1900's) it made sense. As the Barley twist, intricate grape, flowers, leaf designs were some of the most common designs. As were the intricate hand carvings as it was a symbol of wealth and riches to own ... morepieces of this nature Also common among these pieces were a heavy weight. which I will say this chair weighs likely more than any chair of this size I have even come across. It is also one of the most sturdy chairs this age. And this extravgant I have ever found Additionally this chair's condition is exceptional. Other than freshening up the finish on the chair. It is actually the original finish, it was coated with a clear protective finish for conserving the wood, but has never been stripped and re-finished The original seating has been replaced. But the original joints of the chair all hold tightly. The carving is almost unlike any I have ever seen. It is gorgeously and seamlessly done, it is truly even more amazing in person than in pics(I do have more pics if needed) The cushion is covered in victorian style gray& very light contrasting gray fabric. Pattern is french style, very complimenting to style of the chair. This chair is almost throne like in appearance. would be a beautiful addition to any room.
