Guardian Angel Holy Water Font Vintage '50s Molded Plastic VeryFine Hartland #59
This is a very collectible vintage molded plastic holy water font depicting the Guardian Angel protecting a young child and with unusual Morning Glory style fluted blue and gold basin all cast in single mold one piece design. It probably dates from the 1950s or earlier and is marked#59. Hartland Molded. Hartland Wisc(onsin) on the reverse back on the left hand side of the angel's wing. The font measures 5 1/2" long, with basin 3" wide and 1 1/2" deep and is graded in Very Fine condition. It came to me with a little brass nail included which fits perfectly into the tiny round perforation at the pinion of the angel's wing where it touches the face(cf photos#3&4) the ideal spot for mounting this very lightweight and very good example of excellent vintage Catholic memorabilia. This is a very old Holy Water bottle from the basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre in Quebec Canada. The bottle has a metal cork and crown closure that looks like pewter and stands 3-7/8" tall. Holy Water is embossed on the front and a cross is embossed on the back. The base is marked with an embossed 3. There is a faint water line just below the'H' The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre is a Roman Catholic place of pilgrimage. It has a copy of Michelangelo's Pieta and has been known as a place of miracles since its completion. One of the builders of the original church who suffered from severe scoliosis needed the aid of a crutch. When the church was completed he was able to walk independently. This is a beautiful antique holy water font depicting the Crucifixion and Sacred Heart. It is of shiny glazed white porcelain ceramic showing hand painted blue flowers. Yellow and orange Sacred Heart and gilded detailing throughout. The font measures 7 1/4" T x 3 1/2" W x 2" D. In very good condition.still holds water. This is a lovely tabletop Holy Water Font with a 3 light candelabra/candleholder. This is metal and gilded. Obviously used and well-loved since gilding is no longer perfect. It weighs just over one pound, and measures 12" tall, and 10 3/4" at the widest point. I believe this came from a sick call box because the candleholder cups and base all unscrew to reduce it's storage size. It has a wonderful aged patina that shows wear in some places, and a beautiful floral motif. All antique and vintage items should be considered used and may naturally show wear or use from their age. Vintage Holy Water Font Marked #1349
Unique Vintage Holy Water Font. We believe this font is 100% Brass based on color and being non-magnetic. Its not plated because the nail holes are a solid color through. Its marked 1349 about four times inside. The font is missing three screws on the inside holding the hand but they certainly can be replaced. The one screw holding the hand on isn't the right size as shown in the picture. The water holder is also slightly dented in the left corner as shown above. Overall great shape. Has a bit of wear due to age but still is an interesting and lovely piece especially after a good clean. Shipping cost is $10.

Vintage Holy Water Font St Michael Brass Holy Water Font
Vintage Holy Water Font St Michael Brass Holy Water Font Made of non magnetic metal that is brass colored on back and appears to have a darker finish on front. I am 99.9 percent sure this is brass. Measures 5 3/4 inches from top to bottom. 3 3/4 inches from wing tip to wing tip, font is 2 3/4 inches from side to side(outside edges) about 2 1/4 inches wide(inside edges) and about 1 3/8 inches deep(inside) No maker mark on this anywhere. The back has a copper wire hanger that is lead soldered and the font part is attached with a 1 X 1 1/8 piece of brass sheet that is lead soldered. Not sure if this was homemade or repaired. It doesn't appear to have been broken anywhere, so I am guessing that this is how it was made. See photos. Looks great from front. No idea of age. CONDITION: Tarnished. Not sure if this was repaired. This is a curious little vintage item with religious significance. In this small mailing package is a little green glass vial that contains consecrated holy oil. Also included is the box it was originally mailed in(from one St. Louis resident to another) And a pamphlet of prayers assumed to be used in conjunction with the oil. The writing. Packaging, and style of the pamphlet point to the 1940s, possibly slightly later. Great little peak into the past and just as meaningful after all these years. This is an antique Lefton Bisque porcelain holy water font featuring a beautiful statue of the Madonna surrounded by two cherub angels. Mary has on a soft blue dress and is draped in a soft pink robe. She has a halo on her head. All beautifully adorned in gold. There are two small cherubs praying at her side. They are in front of a holy water font that hangs on a wall or can stand on a dresser to bless your home. Holy water font measures 5 inches high by 5 inches wide. Very good vintage condition. The facial features of the monk are exaggerated and elongated. The face takes up more than half of the piece. On the back and sides. There is no carving or any detail. Just dark stain on the wood. Measurements: Height: approx. 10 inches Width(of figure) approx. 2 1/2 inces Length(of figure and bowl) approx. 5 1/2 inches Circumfrence of the bowl: approx. 2 1/2 inches Since it was found in Southern California. There is a likelihood that it was created in Mexico. With it's simplicity of design(most ... moreholy water fonts are ornate) and that it's handmade, it's likely that it didn't come from a church, but a monastery. There's a tarnished brass ring at the top used for hanging the piece. Which is reasonably lightweight. At the base, there is a shallow bowl to hold the holy water. There is no signature of the artist nor any indication of the country of origin. There is one defect on the front of where a chip of wood came off(likely from careless handling) The chip is in between the tip of the monk's beard to the beginnings of his robes. It could be 200 or 20 years old. a friend who works with wood tells me. Some newer pieces can be distressed and made to look like antiques. But this one appears to be genuinely old and handmade.
