C. Rogers& Bros. A1 silverplate master twisted butter knife.In the shell pattern. a hard to find peice in this pattern) C. Rogers& Bros, were in bussiness in Meriden CT from 1866 until 1903. In 1903 they were bought out by International silver. The knife is tarnished, I didn't polish it because I didn't know if it would ruin the value. On the very tip of the knife it has a tiny tiny indentation. I don't know if this is a flaw of part of the manufacturing process. In good vintage condition. Any questions please ask before bidding

Mid 1800's Will and Finck Bowie Knife San Francisco Gold Rush and after maker
Offered is a outstanding SF marked Will and Finck bowie knife that recently surfaced in the California Gold Rush town of Downieville on the old 49'er highway. This is the same model knife that is pictured in the excellent reference work: Knifemakers of Old San Francisco. I just had this listed. But I noticed I had the name spelled wrong in the title and description. This bowie is an exceptional piece of the knife makers craft boasting a excellent balance and weight. The steel blade has natural mossing and patina with both leading edges sharpened at some point in it's lifetime. Regardless, it is a rare knife to find in any condition. Marked on the ricasso: WILL& FINCK SF. CAL. From my research in the book. And from other sources, the marking and the style of the knife are totally consistent with the genuine article. The hilt is ... morethe same, the convex blade style is the same, same blade shape. When found, the knife had the small remnants of a bosuns type knotted handle in a traditional nautical style. I heard from another collector that Will and Finck knives of this era and style often made their way aboard ships sailing from San Fran. Definitely a heavy duty, utilitarian, working knife. Measures: 12.25" overall with a 8.25" blade that is 2" at it's widest point. I believe this to be a very rare and desirable knife. Payment due within three days of auction close. All sales final. The hilt is wrapped with a waxed cord that appears to be original. There is a hairline crack in the pommel. The knife has about 50% of its original bluing. There is some rust and pitting. The tip is in great shape/condition. There is a scabbard/sheath but it appears to have been"field" fashioned. Overall. This Australian Army Stiletto fighting knife is in very good condition. USMC. Desert Fighting,Combat Knife,1st,First Pattern,Ontario,Marine Used,22 This is the first pattern issued USMC Desert Combat bayonet. They weren't used for long because the nylon strap that holds the end to the body broke quick. Evidently. All issued bayonets were then turned in as military unserviceable and new bayonets were issued with an elastic strap. The government released the first ones used to the market since they were no longer up to the high military combat standards. This is one of those. It has been well used and the strap is broken. Some of the parkerized coating is worn off. Scabbard a little scratched. There is black duct tape around the scabbard at the tip that the Marine put on there to hold it after the nylon strap broke. The snap in the back to hold it on a belt is broken. This has seen some real desert use. ON-OKC3S ... moreOntario. This was designed to match the digital camouflage uniform with a brown sheath, handle and webbing. The 8" blade is 1.375" wide and features a 1.75" serrated section for extra cutting power on dense materials. Made of Ontario's new proprietary diamond steel, it is.200" thick and has a 53-58 RC hardness. The blade is coated in a phosphate non-reflective finish. The handle is composed of dyna-flex over a full tank and has been ergonomically designed to reduce hand fatigue. Each bayonet comes with a polyester elastomer scabbard, designed for low noise signature. The scabbard features a fitted internal stainless steel spring friction device at the throat to secure the bayonet when not in use. A cermaic coated aluminum honing rod is located on the back of the scabbard for field sharpening of the blade. Scabbard appears to be made of a composite material so may not be WWII. Any information concerning the origin of the piece would be greatly apprciated and posted to the listing.
