1960's Gretsch Round Badge Champagne Sparkle Drum Kit: 20/13/16!
For your consideration is a lovely player's kit of classic Gretsch Round Badge drums in champagne sparkle. This outfit features a 14x20" kick. A 9x13" rack tom, and a 16x16" floor tom. These drums are in great condition despite a few scuffs and scratches, including some rash to the 13" tom(pictured) Drums are all-original with no additional holes drilled. Non-factory parts include a single Slingerland t rod on the kick(pictured) and aftermarket floor tom legs(brackets are original Gretsch) The Pratt muffler is also missing. The champagne wrap has a bit of lift at the edges but is in solid shape with no serious damage. All lugs and diecast hoops are original and in good player's shape with a bit of pitting and patina. Consolette has surface rust and a bit of chrome loss but is mechanically solid. All in all, this ... moreis a hard-kitting kit with deep toms and a fast, responsive smaller kick drum. This might be the cleanest representation of a Jasper shelled Fibes Drum that I've ever owned. The tom is a 16x14(16" head) and was recovered years ago by Fibes. The drum is beautiful all around and Fibes made it appear to be factory new(no badge upon recover) The heads are brand new coated and clear REMO ambassadors($40 dollars right there) The only hole in this drum is the factory grommet hole. Late 1930s Royal Flyer Camelback bicycle frame.26 inch.I believe these were made by D P Harris.Includes the badge and seatpost.Nothing else.The frame has been mostly stripped of old paint.It was rebrazed as shown a long time ago,judging from the layers of paint that covered it. There are dents where a later style side kickstand was installed. There is a gouge where the sprocket was hitting the frame.The head tube badge is brass,has a hole in it,and some old red paint on it.Seat post moves freely,has some pitting,the clamp assembly has some marks from being loosened and tightened with pliers.One of the rear dropouts is spread a bit,and hogged out some.I took as many pictures as Ebay allows to show the condition and flaws,so look at them carefully.What you see is what you get.This frame is sold as is.That being said,I will take it back,the ... morebuyer is to pay return shipping.I want to avoid any complaints or attempts too negotiate a lower price after it is received,so please make sure it is what you want. Used Mid-1960s Vintage Gretsch Round Badge Chrome Over Brass 14" x 5" Snare Drum PLEASE NOTE: While returns are accepted. Seven days is sufficient, so please understand this before bidding- Thank you) You are looking at a nice old mid-1960s vintage Gretsch Round Badge Chrome Over Brass 14" x 5" snare drum. This drum is in fair condition. The chrome is fairly solid. And it has a few dings and dents(please see pics) The Micro-Sensitive throw-off is missing the lever handle but this can be found for sale online if you look. The throw still works however as someone put a wing nut ... morein place of the handle as a temporary fix. The top head fits well, but like many of these old Gretsch Round Badge snare drums, the bottom heads needs to be forced in place as the snare beds tend to cause the bottom of these drums to be out-of-round. This is not uncommon, and people still love these drums for their sound regardless. This drum has the original Great Gretsch Sound label still affixed to its interior. As well as the original round badge in the vent hole. This drum was part of the stock at m y family music store in Providence. RI(my grandfather started Twin City Music- same family since 1932! and because we have recently closed the business(cannot compete with the big"box" stores) we are liquidating our entire leftover stock and fixtures.
