Antique Angel holding a shell for filling with holy water. Very beautiful and tender. No markings as to who made it. Approx 5 inches tall x 2 1/2 inches wide. Beautiful details. She has golden hair and holds a pale blue shell. You fill that with holy water. Theres 2 small holes behind the head where they used to tie a string to mount on wall. Theres also a round hole if you want to hang it on a nail. Part of my uncle's(who married my Dads sister) sisters estate. It was given to me. Now sadly. I must part with it as I am retiring soon. It depicts on the left St. Rita of Cascia and on the righ St. Therese of the Child Jesus(St. Therese of Lisieux) It is marked on the back by maker and dated 1923. It is a very old piece and has a beautiful patina from age. it depicts both figures with crucifix's in hands dressed in complete head to toe robes. there is a brick wall in-between the two figures which holds the holy water on the bottom and the candle holder on the top. there is a little rectangular slot in the back that holds the wood crucifix measuring 14 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 4 3/4 inches back to front and extremely heavy it is overall in nice antique shape please view all photos. It has the feel of the Hummel painted figures. I do not know where this was made. It was my grandmothers, from her mother. She was from England. All is intact and beautiful. Little gold dots on Jesus' garment. His little fingers and toes are all intact. The back is marked 1813. Cannot find anything like this on the internet. I do know that she had only"nice" things, so it was probably a very expensive item even 201 years ago! Am charging a dollar for each year. Hard to imagine all that time has gone by. Antique Holy Land Jordan Water Levantine Urn Israel Around World Shoppers Club
We have an antique vintage empty hand-molded Levantine earthenware urn that. At one time contained orange-scented cologne. It was an Oriental essence derived from River Jordan Water and orange blossoms from the groves on the Mediterranean shores of Tel Aviv and Haifa from the Holy Land. The empty urn weighs 4.7 oz. and was made in Israel. This was a monthly collector's item from"Around the World Shoppers Club" of Newark, New Jersey. The urn is 5 1/4 inches tall and charcoal/black color. There are two red wax disks hanging down on raffia string. The cork has been unsealed- There is also a miniature scroll on parchment paper in several languages which says"And Elisha sent a messenger unto him. Saying Go and wash in Jordan seven times.
