Here is an interesting estate find. It is two pins connected by a short chain. One is a figual head of a Llama and the other is a man. Perhaps an Inca or Peruvian Indian. Pin is signed Peru and also marked 925. Pin closures are a little bent from age and use. But still closes fine. Man measures 3/4" tall, chain is 2 3/4" and llama is 3/4" also. Weighs 3.4 grams. Vintage Sterling Silver Aztec Peruvian Peru Gods Face LARGE Pendant Necklace
This auction is for a detailed and striking. Sterling silver Aztec necklace, that was made in Peru. This necklace is marked on the back"925" Tests positive for sterling silver, and weighs 34.3 grams. The necklace measures 18.5" long with a 3/16" wide hand made chain. The pendants are 2mm thick, 1" long and 3/4" wide at their thickest point with a thin base that has raised Aztec designs. There are five differently designed main panels and 4 smaller pendants that are symmetrical on either side and they are very detailed with lots of texture and visual interest. There are no irregularities to the silver, no dents or dings, and the piece has a very bright patina that shows off the detail in the design. Overall this is a unique and striking, sterling Aztec necklace, that was made in Peru and is in Excellent condition.

Rare Vintage Peru Lago Titicaca Reed Boat Ceramic Clay Dolls Hand Made Painted
This rare. Hand made, hand painted reed boat with husband and wife fishing team was brought back from Puno, Peru in the early 1960s' The boat is made of"totora" the actual reeds found around Lake/Lago Titicaca. The reed boats will float for a good while but must then be beached to dry out for the next excursion. The region is inhabited by the Uros peoples. The Peruvian Indian man sits on a colorful mat holding his fishing line. The beautifully dressed woman is pointing to where she saw one jump. 2 Vintage Peru Shipibo Conibo Pottery Vases
Here are two Shipibo pottery bowls or vases from Peru. These are fresh out of the estate of a college professor. The smaller bowl measures approx 5 1/2" across and 2" tall. This looks to be a very old bowl with finger marks at the bottom in the clay. Someone in the past has covered it with what looks to be varnish. The other vase is larger and probably dates to the 1990s era. It measures approx 9" across. It is in good condition. Has some flea bites on inside rim. Side has a solid crack that occurred when the clay was fired. Neat looking vases, fresh out of an estate.

These dolls have been in a cool, dark moth-free storage place for 15 years. No moth damage. Excellent condition for their age and what they are. The five dolls shown above are contemporary Peruvian pieces made using ancient textile fragments. The dolls are near facsimiles of a doll making tradition that was in practice along the arid central coast of Peru 1000 years ago. These modern dolls are an example of indigenous Peruvian artisans redeveloping an ancient industry of their ancestors to provide a new source of income. Sometimes modern dolls are fraudulently sold as antiquities. But often Andean artisans maintain the connection to their past and sell them as a contemporary ... morestyle of folk art that has ancient roots. These dolls represent a blurring of the line between the past and the present. Modern indigenous Peruvian artisans recreate Chancay dolls(named after the Chancay culture that inhabited the central coast of Peru ca. AD 1000- 1476) in the old style using ancient fabrics. A common difference between ancient and modern dolls. However, is the ancient dolls usually had textile woven faces. The fabric for the face was specifically created for that purpose. Description: Vintage ethnographic pin/pendant in sterling silver with an 18 karat yellow gold figure on the front. The design is very detailed. With sun depictions alternating with pierce-carved cats of some type, and the 18 karat gold figure in the center. The sterling silver has a very deep, rich patina. This piece measures 1-7/16 inches across. The 18K gold figure measures 5/8 inch high X 1/2 inch wide at the wdiest point and is grometed to the pin. On the back this piece is marked 925 and 18K. It is not marked Peru but we have had similar pieces in the past and they are usually marked Peru, so my best guess is that this piece is also from Peru. You are looking at a vintage. Antique. And unique Small Two-Headed Llama Clay/Ceramic Pot- Peru. This item was hand made/crafted in Peru. There is some painted/brushed on work on the front. Sides, back, and legs of the piece done in white. The heads of the Llamas are painted as well. There appears to be a glaze over the whole piece. I originally thought that this was maybe a pen holder. But more research revealed that it may be used for incense burning. Really great piece of Peru culture.
