I am selling a 1935 Peru 1/2 Sol coin. It is in very fine to extra fine condition(estimated) It has not been certified as of yet but the detailing and highlights of the indents. Ridges, lines, letters and borders are in excellent shape as well as I can determine it's grade from my research. There is normal wear and scratches otherwise all features are clearly identifiable. Hi. Here is a wonderful little vessel/vase. I think it is from Peru by the way the people are dressed. It is about 5" tall and made of a nice reddish clay pottery. I do believe this is hand thrown and hand painted. I really do believe that it is old. Signed on the bottom with the name Martinez. There are 3 colorfully dressed people sitting in the sand in front of 2 mountain peaks. There are no chips or cracks but some lighter colored marks(mostly at the bottom) There is a small spot on rim opening that has a flick off the glaze. VINTAGE PERU PERUVIAN BLANKET WEAVING wSUN GOD - OLD PIECE POSSIBLY 19th CENTURY
You are bidding on an old vintage Peruvian blanket. It measures approx. 56 by 82 inches. There is an image of the Peruvian sun god in the center. The blanket is all wool on a wool foundation. It is woven of hand spun wool with all natural dies. There is some light fading to the colors that has enhanced the beauty of this piece. It also has a bold direct design that is not crowded and is perfectly balanced. I believe this piece is from the late 19th century or possibly the early 20th century but I would be surprised if it were older. It has a lose weave and a soft blanket like handle. The colors are mostly undyed natural wool with just a few other colors like light green. And an almost coral red or salmon red color. I have included photos with and without flash and some in daylight. It really is a beautiful piece with a wonderful bold design ... moreand great color. Unlike anything else you might see on ebay from Peru. CONDITION: Good to excellent. A couple of very small holes and some slight wear to outside finished edges. Very minor. This piece is in an excellent state of preservation especially for it's age which is probably late 19th/ early 20th century. It does appear that the head may have been reattached, but I am not sure. Looks like a line around the neck. About 8" long and 3.5" tall at the ears. No pieces broken off. VINTAGE SHIPIBO CONIBO INDIAN FACE POTTERY VESSEL The Shipibo-Conibo are an indigenous people along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. Formerly two groups. The Shipibo(ape men) and the Conibo(fish men) they eventually became one distinct tribe through intermarriage and communal ritual and are currently known as the Shipibo-Conibo people. For your consideration I have a great looking vintage example of Shipibo-Conibo pottery from Peru which is in excellent condition. It was acquired at an estate sale a few years back. I was told that it was acquired on a trip to Peru in the 1960s. aside from a small nick in the glaze on the rim and another small nick on the ear both which could easily be touched up. I would rate this piece a 9/10 or better overall. There are no major chips and no cracks. It has a real presence and it displays ... morelike a champ! Vintage tribal BLOWGUN dart quiver from Peru or Ecuador tribal hunting item RARE
This auction is for a vintage blowgun dart quiver from Peru or Ecuador. This could be Jivaro(Shuar) Shipibo, or a related group. Classic construction with a bamboo body(with a wooden plug sealing the base) and a gourd for kapok cotton attached with a palmwood rod. Binding is native cord. The carrying strap appears to be made from woven native cloth. The long dart shafts are made from palm leaf ribs. They are held in the quiver with a brush-like object made from a straw-like material(see photos) The darts are sharp but not poisoned(poison was carried in a separate container) The kapok gourd is empty. Some engraving on the bamboo cylinder, colored with soot(see photos) Measures 9 1/2" OAL by 2 1/2" wide(darts are around 15 1/2" This item is probably 25-35 years old but may be older. All the way from Peru& up for bid is a beautiful sterling silver& 18k yellow gold geometrically shaped pendant made on a platform of Green Chrysocolla& also a sterling silver swirl designed 1.5mm necklace with lobster closure. It is a hand-signed piece. With a cursive letter which is very distinct; it could be a“Z” or an“L”it’s hard to determine, being unfamiliar with Peruvian jewelry. The ornate sterling silver pendant is 1 ¼“ tall; the chrysocolla is ¾ inches tall. And the 18k gold Peruvian god symbol is the centerpiece-it is solid yellow gold-measures about ½” tall by ¼” wide. The pendant is the shape of a triangle that is cut off at the top. Eliminating the“tip” making it a“boxy” looking triangle, like a platform shape. The chyrysocolla appears to have been pieced together-2 that I can see-and is a beautiful ... moredark green stone. Vintage lot of sterling silver alpaca jewelry pieces from Peru. The larger piece can be worn as a necklace or as a brooch. It measures 2 1/4" and is stamped 925. The filligree circular one is 3/4" and the other one is 1" tall and 1/2" wide. These were all purchased at the same estate sale the owner was in the peace corps in the 80's. Wonderful hand-formed clay pottery church from Peru. These churches are completely hand-formed and hand-painted in great detail. This one features a choir of singing children. Apparently all boys. The amount of work that has to go into the creation of these is tremendous. It likely originated in Ayacucho. Which is famous for its 33 churches. This one is fairly good-sized: almost 11" tall. 7" wide, and 4.5" deep. In very good condition. With no damage and very little wear that I can find. I used to collect these. But no longer do; I'm also preparing for a move, and some larger pieces must go. I hope this will find a good home where it will be displayed and appreciated. As it's truly lovely. Unique 1949 dated knit cap from Peru.sent to me by my great-aunt for my 5th birthday. Measures approx. 8.5 inches across. Very colorfull and in great condition for age with only some minor holes in one section as shown in pictures. My great-uncle was a Brigadier General who died in 1934 and my aunt returned to Washington D.C. afterwards. She frequently traveled with the Diplomatic Corp. This is an undated vintage piece in the style of Laffi and era of Peruvian modernism. The small sculpture is copper and measures about 4 1/4" long and about 2 1/8" high. It has a lovely patina and beautifully detailed markings on its fins and tail. It's in very good condition: all of the hinges work. Even the upper fins move freely. This is a vintage piece and it has some minor surface scratches, and there are a few areas where the patina has been scratched through. Please inspect the photos.
