Walnut wood has an original finish in very fine condition with warm patina. Waxed and buffed. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its luster. Original large embossed bronze coat and hat hooks with griffin heads have traces of the original genuine gold finish. There are irregularities from shrinkage and small mars at the edges for antique character. A brass rail held canes and umbrellas over the tin pan for drips at the bottom. This folding dressing screen is in wonderful antique condition and displays beautifully. There have been a couple of repairs in the past to the cascading swags of the grapes and leaves. Which you have to look closely to see because of all the twists and turns of the carvings, and the crest at the center is walnut so most likely a marriage to this piece but it accents the center panel beautifully. There is an old repair to the left carved paw feet which I have shown a close up of in the pictures, appears tight and secure and not an issue. The fabric is nice and clean with only a tiny spot or two here and there but nothing that stands out.very minimal. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CANE UMBRELLA PLANT STAND OCTAGONAL MAHOGANY VICTORIAN BEDPOST
24" tall. 11" diameter cane or umbrella stand. Octagonal column is constructed of solid mahogany boards, molding around the bottom is also mahogany, four feet are veneered. I think that this stand was made from the bottom section of a mid-Victorian bed post from a tester bed. If you are familiar with beds made by cabinetmakers like Mallard or Lee, the octagonal form was very popular. For whatever reason(fashion, low ceilings) a bed was taken apart and the lowest section of a bedpost was repurposed as a hall stand with the addition of four scroll feet- that look like they came from a Victorian footstool and two handles on the side that look like sections of molding. The reconfiguration was not done recently- the nails holding the feet in show some surface rust and the screws attaching the bottom panel are not new either. The reimagining ... moreof the bedpost was probably done in the mid 20th century or before. It makes an interesting history and I think it makes a very handsome and impressive looking stand for your canes or umbrellas. It would make a great stand for a fern or other houseplant too. The finish on the wood is old. The mahogany has a lovely dark red color. There is finish wear and some scratches and marks, the veneer is quite worn on the feet. There is a split on one of the eight panels that would be an easy fix with wood glue and some strap clamps. antique mahogany plant or fern stands, pedestals with or without marble tops
for auction is a very nice pair of mahogany pedestals or plant stands. they have marble tops with them. But some may prefer to use them without the marble as the tops are finished nicely and show nice mahogany grain. the marble tops are used in the most part to protect the tops from water rings etc. so you can take them or leave them. the tops are not original to the pedestals. i would like to apologize for all the dust, i did not realize how dirty they were until i looked at the pictures. anything you see on the tops or anywhere is something that will wipe right off. also, although these pedestals look like a pair, they do not match exactly, they are the same height and diameter but there are some minor differences in them, ie. in the feet and rings and contours on the shaft. they go great together, but again they are not identical. i am ... morelisting them together and the price will buy both, however, if you only want one, let me know and we can work it out for the purchase of one or i can relist them as singles. they are 32 inches tall with the marble, a bit over 31 without it. the diameter of the marble tops is 14.25, the diameter of the mahogany tops are 31.5 inches. the diameter across the toes at the bottom is a bit over 17 inches. they are a nice set of antique pedestals and look good together and are hard to tell apart unless you scrutinize them closely. they may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. they can go usps, ups, fedex, or greyhound. good luck.

Victorian Adjustable Book Or Bible Stand Cast Iron And Wood
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian cast iron and wood bookstand. All the parts are here. Many I've seen have casters or at least the legs taper into what look like a part that would go into a caster. These legs do not have that feature. The right side wooden leaf has a crack running the length of it. This was my aunt's and she always loved to display her gigantic old dictionary. She passed away a few years ago and I'm finally down to parting with it. I can't provide a maker on this or an actual date of production. I've merely compared it to some I've seen here on eBay. This one-of-a-kind hall seat is made of solid oak with quarter sawn arms that end in hand carved lions' heads. It has claw feet and decorative carvings on the curved skirt and mirror surround. This majestic 19th century piece is positively stunning and features an ornately carved crest. Raised panels of burl walnut, carved rosettes, incised carvings, the original mirrors and the original recessed beveled edge marble top, with shaped walnut display shelves flanking the center mirror. Truly a grand statement piece you would be proud to showcase in your home. This fabulous étagère measures 105 1/2 inches( 8' 9 1/2" in total height. Height to the marble at the base is 29 3/4 inches, with a total width of 54 inches and total depth at the base of 19 inches and this étagère weighs approximately 250 ... morelbs total but does dis-assemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The original mirror at the center measures 46 3/4 inches in height by 22 1/2 inches wide. This Victorian étagère is in fantastic antique condition. Offered is this charming solid wood shaving stand with beveled mirror and storage drawer. We believe this to be walnut. This cabinet can rest on its four feet. Or it can be hung on the wall. This one has a wire hanger on the back for hanging. The piece has two shelves. The wider one is 6 inches deep and appears above the drawer while the narrow shelf is 3 inches deep and appears below the carved top piece, above the mirror. The shaving cabinet stands 21.5 inches tall and measures 9 inches wide. It is almost 7 inches deep at the deepest point. This piece dates to the Victorian era. Late 1800s or early 1900s. It is a fine piece of cabinet work. This stand is in very good condition for its years. However. Some minor flaws need to be mentioned. The drawer pull, which appears to be brass, has been broken, as you can see if you look closely at ... morethe photos. The wood back has split near the edge, where nails have been inserted. This pair of pedestals is each 43 inches tall. They are not an identical match. They are inlaid with urns on the front and near the top. They have borders made of an exotic wood. These are English from the Edwardian period. They date to the late 19 th or early 20 th century. Each pedestal has a little bit of veneer missing on a bottom corner. This is a gorgeous French Bakers Rack I bought this from an old department store in NJ that the building had been an old bakery. It measures 42 inches wide. 18 inches deep and 93 inches tall Would look amazing in your kitchen! The brass is very shiny and has NO splits or cracks. There are a small amount of minor dings in the brass from years of use. But they do not detract from the antique beauty of this bakers rack. Antique Victorian Framed Beveled Wall Hall Mirror Hat Rack 3 Lg Double Hangers
This is a fantastic antique hall mirror hat rack with three large curvy double hooks. The frame has been refinished in mahogany and is in excellent condition. The mirror is beveled. Has no cracks or chips, but has some streakiness and cloudiness throughout due to age. There is a newer cardboard backing and two hangers attached to the back for wall hanging. The measurements are 27" W x 27" H. I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Antique Wall Coat and Key Rack made from Antique Crib side
This is a Repurposed Antique Crib side into a Coat and Key rack. The Antique piece was attached to a pine board and Vintage looking iron Hooks were Screwed to the front of the piece. This is a very sturdy piece approximately 41/2 feet long and 13 Inches width. The Back Board was painted with a light turquoise and Pearl white chalk paint. The back was also painted for a finished look with attached hanger on back. This is an extremely sturdy. Yet very attractive use of an antique piece. Antique Austrian Music Stand
This music stand was bought at an antique shop in the 1980's. I believe this stand was part of the Austrian symphony in the mid 19th century. I came by this information from other eBay listings with the exact same item. The stand comes apart in two pieces; the top and the triangle base. It also adjusts in height and the music holder itself adjusts. It's in good condition; however the fret work on one end was damaged. I have all 4 pieces that broke off. As far as shipping. Vintage Victorian Hat / Wig Stand, cast iron base
This is what I believe to be a Vintage Victorian hat stand. I found this with my mother's collection of antique dresses and hats. The base appears to be cast iron. The top is part wood; see pictures for details. Height is about 11 1/4" tall. Base is approx. 5 3/4" diameter. Condition: This does show signs of wear from use. But still in good condition. I have had many quarter sawn oak shaving stands over the years but this is certainly up near the top in quality. Adjustable mirror(up and down and tilts) which is beveled and shaped. A drawer just under the mirror. Two drawers in the base along with a door. Note the drawers and door all have the original unusual hardware. Two round side doors; one on either side. Probably the most interesting thing is the hidden drawer in the bottom of the piece-supported by the fancy center leg. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth and even finish.
