1800's antique cherry stick and ball hall mirror hat and coat rack philadelphia
for sale about the nicest stick and ball hall mirror. Hat, coat rack i have ever owned. it is presented in its original finish. i do not believe there is a piece missing anywhere and if there is any damage of any kind it is so small i have over looked it. at any rate, a wonderful cherry stick and ball hanging mirror with hat and coat hooks, 6 or them. the mirror is bad, however, it is original. if i sell it and the new owner wants me to remove the old silver and back the old glass with a new mirror i will do so for the cost of a new mirror. that would be less than 20 dollars, probably about 12.00. the mirror is 12 inches by 12 inches. the piece is 32 inches wide and 24 inches tall. it has a nicely carved crest at the top. all the fret work is perfect as far as i can tell. the very nice all brass hooks are 4 inches long and a couple have minor ... morebends in them, which could be corrected with little effort. the back over the mirror was a bit loose so i took it off so i could re nail it. in doing so, i discovered and newspaper which was the philadelphia ledger and was dated like 1884 i think, it should show in the picture i have listed. anyway, this paper was folded to keep the mirror from moving within the frame. i do not know if that was placed there when the piece was made and done so at a later date. at any rate, the mirror probably was made or originated in or about philadelphia. it is a fantastic piece, the pictures are terrible, it is 100 times nicer in person. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyers expense. i expect it will go usps for about 30 or 40.00. good luck

Antique Mahogany 1800's Empire Style Plant Stand Original
This Plant Stand is 31 inches high and measures 16 inches across the top. It held the telephone in my parents home from 1936 until 2008. I believe it came from my grandmother's home and dates around 1880. It withstood the band of Irish hooligans that lived there. It started off with the old bakelite party phone and ended up with a panasonic phone. The spindle is tight to the base. There is a little wiggle at the top of the spindle that would be easily remedied. The weight is 15lbs. I'll ship whichever way is the cheapest. Thanks for Looking!

Rare Ebonized Renaissance Victorian Pedestal Fern Stand Kilian Brothers NY
Another rare piece of Victorian style furniture this one out of my personal collection. I have never seen a model as this one is. A very unique version with four separate surfaces one of which is top elevated and the other three extending on arms with gold incised lines. The finish is Ebonized in a black lacquer and has some red painted incised lines and looks to be gold leaf in other places. A true museum piece that showcases the many dimensioned of the Victorian era. I purchased this from the Brown Mansion estate out side of Alexandria Va and the entire estate had a rich history. Antique Heavily Carved Black Forest Hall/Foyer/Monk's Bench w/Winged Maidens
A stunning black forest oak carved hall/foyer bench or monk's seat in superb condition for the age. We believe this to be from the mid 1800's most likely close to the 1860's. I am unsure if there is a piece that is supposed to attach to the back of this piece or not as there are no signs of where a back would attach. The piece measures as follows: 54" wide x 23.5" depth at corners 22.5" depth at center 22.25" height. This piece displays superb craftsmanship throughout the various carved areas. The front corners each have a nude winged maiden facing outward. The top edge is carved all the way around in one design and the bottom edge in another. The front has two carved sections flanking a carved lion head with ornate leaf/wreath/ floral accents providing a circular frame for the head. This is an absolutely beautiful solid walnut Victorian hall tree/umbrella stand. It measures 73 inches tall. 32 inches wide at the base and 26 inches wide at the top. It has the original mirror which measures 19x11 and a dove-tailed drawer with the original 12x8 marble shelf. There are six'dowel' hangers and two copper lined insets for your umbrellas. The sides are decoratively carved and there is a carved front inset. The top has a carved applique. It has been refinished with a natural stain and four coats of tung oil. The piece is in excellent condition with no'dings' or scratches. The mirror does show some wear. It is available for pick-up in the Louisa and/or Kilmarnock, VA area.

Offered for sale is a large Victorian Dark Oak Barley Twist Plant Stand. Stands like these generally graced the entry way or halls of Victorian homes and were usually surmounted by ferns and other draping plants. Curiously. This doesn't have the usual watermarks from leaky flower pots that generally tended to ruin these things. The only things missing are 3 small corbels from under the top& a dowelled piece of gingerbread that graced the middle of the bottom brace, all of which could be easily duplicated. The stand is about 42" tall. The top is about 14" in diameter; the flat plant stand surface is about 12" in diameter. The bas feet are about 18" in diameter. Outstanding Victorian Walnut Halltree with Marble Shelf
Massive Victorian Walnut Hall Tree. It is in very good antique condition and probably one of the prettiest I have owned. The crest on the piece is all hand carved and very unique and large. Everything seems to be original. Including the very large, ornate, hat hooks. This is an earlier piece, and they are getting harder to find. The marble is in great shape, as is the mirror. As far as antique pieces go, this one is in my opinion in near perfect condition, keeping in mind that all pieces of this age will have some dings, flaws, etc. The only thing that I would point out as a minor flaw, would be one small area of waviness to the veneer applique wood piece on the top right hand side of piece. CIvil War Trunks 1872 early version. To my knowledge I have the only key
This is one of the first ten if not the first made for the Generals of the Civil War by the Eagle company out of Terryville. CT. I have talked with an appraiser and he has never saw the original key to this engraved with the companies name. He says I very well could have stumbled onto something great.makes sense I got it off an elderly lady in an antique shop that has everything and anything old, but this is special. It has amazing, beautiful detail and the KEY MECHANISM WORKS. One of these sold at live auction for 3600 at a later date than mine and without the original key. I got it appraised and since there were a couple cedar strips on the sides holding the iron on from bubbling it brough half of its value down. He said since I have the original key at auction it would bring me between 900 low end and 4200 high end. So I was weary about ... moregetting rid of it until I found one that was a Queen of Englands and I got some more antiques to part with before I get rid of the real special ones. Up for bid is this fabulous early Regency Mahogany( Watercolor adjustable Pole Screen/ Fire Screen circa 1833. With an original Watercolor by Mrs. E. Stanley(Catherine Leycester Stanley) The framed watercolor is just beautiful and very nicely done. The watercolor is matted, framed and shows a written history that reads as follows: Above watercolor. Title reads: PINETA RAVENNA. MRS. E. STANLEY, PAINTED BY HER WHEN AT LIME, HURSTMONCEUX. Beneath watercolor reads: This Pole fire screen was in the Rectory at Alton. Barnes, Wiltshire, up to 1833, and was moved from there after the death of the rector(Rev. Augustus W. Hare) by his Widow(nee Maria Leycester) to Lime, Hurstmonceux, Sussex. The Picture of the Pineta Ravenna was painted by Mr. Edward Stanley(nee Catherine Leycester) when at Lime, from a Sketch done by her in Italy. The Screen stood ... morein the drawing-room at Lime till 1860, when Mrs. Hare moved to Holmhurst near Hastings, and it was taken there and placed in the drawing room of that house. Mrs. Hare died in 1879, and her adopted son, Mr. Augustus J.C. Hare in 1903. In October, 1908, a Sale took place at Holmhurst, of the furniture and effects of the late Mr. Augustus Hare, and I then purchased this Screen, which formed part of Lot 813 in the sale-catalogue. Thomas Parkin, Farseat, High Wickham, Hastings. You can adjust the height of watercolor at the back by loosening the knob on the brackets allowing you to raise or lower. The top portion of the pole offers a turned finial at the very top and a fantastic graduated spooled base that rests on a round base with three tripod feet. A truly wonderful period piece to add to your Regency Decor. This piece measures 52 inches in height to the finial at the top of the pole. The framed watercolor measures 13.5W"x10.5H" The watercolor itself measures 7-1/4"W x 5-1/2"H. Piece weighs approximately 9-1/2 lbs. Fire Screen is in fine. Antique condition. Old Antique Dore Bronze Mounted Ebonized Wood French Plant Stands Pedestals Pair of 2 Two A nice matched pair of wooden Bronze mounted antique French plant stands or pedestals for statues or vases. They are made of wood painted black(ebonized) The mounts were originally all gold gilt Dore Bronze(loos to retain much of the original gilding under discoloration from being 100 + years old. Each measures about 3 feet high and 8 inches wide at the top(1 foot 7 inches wide at the base) The stands are in good all original condition with some wear and some losses to the finish and wood from age and use(see photos) I would date these to be 125 +/ years old. I believe they are French in origin. The Bronze mounts are similar to Boulle tables and other French furniture that I have sold in the past. As Director of"AAA Motor News" magazine, he was noted for his covers of this publication that was the forerunner of"Michigan Living" magazine. His portrait subjects included actor Sir Alec Guiness. Artist Sadakichi Hartmann, General Motors President James M. Roche, automobile tycoon Henry Ford, and four Michigan governors. The Hartmann portrait is in the National Gallery in Washington and his mural, Man and Transportation" is in the Detroit Public Library. Coppin was educated at Stratford Collegiate Institute and the John Wicker School of Art in Detroit. And he also did study tours in Europe.
