The one with unbroken Glass Eyes is also known as a Best Ever"OLE BLACK JOE. It also has its chrome pin. There is a most interesting history on these Indiana-Ohio fishing lures. Handpainted white enamel flowers. Old heavy blue luminous glass with enamel work and gilt. I am not sure if this is a decanter.Wine liquor bottle or vase decor piece. It could have had a cork or glass stopper. The bottle opening seems small for a vase and large for a candle so perhaps it was a decanter? It is an interesting old piece with that lovely mercury silvering glazed effect. I decided it might be part of a decanter set. Perhaps it had matching wine glasses at one time? I have never seen anything like it. Based on research I would put it in the Victorian era. Please confirm my description this is not my area of expertise. 19th Century YELLOW Flask Bottle~~~Strap Side~~Double Ring Lip~~Whittle Marks
I picked up this yellow flask at a local flea market. Where the dark brown color really caught my eye. Surprise! When I took it home for a bath, it turned out to be yellow, with just a touch of olive in the color. I don't know much about antique bottles, so I posted lots of pictures, and I'll describe what I see, with a little added online research thrown in. There are NO chips, cracks or damage.condition is just great. Lots of bubbles, from tiny to one that's almost 1" long, and pulls marks around the neck, along with several dark specks in the glass that I think are called'stones' The surface has some whittling( on it, having a slightly textured orange-peel look to it. The neck's a little crooked when seen from the side, and the double ring lip is just a bit oval and a tinier bit thicker along one side. I know ... morethis is called a strap side flask, but just as the strap line hits the shoulder, a second line stems out in a V shape towards the neck.this is visible in 4 or 5 pictures. One seam line stops right at the shoulder, the other extends up closer to the lip. I'm mentioning this as I don't know if it's a flaw or how the bottle is supposed to be. The bottom is uneven, being a little thicker at the center, and has an embossed X(or plus sign-or cross) within a depressed circle. The flask measures 7.25" tall. You might see some dirty areas inside.just couldn't bend my bottle brush in to clean it better. Please check the pictures and ask questions, as I'm not a glass collector, but I'm sure this is an oldie, possible mid to late 1800s. Shipped within five business days of receiving payment. We have for sale a lovely Antique Cruet from the 19th century. This piece is in excellant condition with no chips& no cracks. The piece measures 5 3/4" tall by 2 5/8" in dia. The bottom is inverted and goes up inside the bottle. There is a clear stopper that fits very nicely. However we do not know for sure if it is original to the cruet. We assume it was for ink. It measures 2 1/8" high, 1 7/8" in length and about 1 1/2" wide. It is marked on the bottom with"Pat. Oct. 1865" There is some crackling within the glass on the one outside side which appears to be from when this was made along with some air bubbles.
