The rocker is made of solid wood, with a woven Rattan seat that is very good condition and may have been redone at some point. There are some light dings and scratches to the finish. The rocker is a small size, but I am not sure if it's quite small enough to be for a child. It has an extended splat running vertically in between the spindles, which is more of a Windsor style and an unusual design for a rocking chair. The rocking chair is 33" tall at the top of the back, is 16" across the front of the seat, is 16" deep at the seat, with a total depth at the seat of 19.5", the rockers are 29.

Antique Painted Rod-Back Make-do Windsor Side Chair W/Leather Seat 1820's Pennsylvania circa 1820's Great example of how ingenious people in the 19th Century really were! Nothing ever was discarded. Always repaired, fixed, and used over and over again. These fixed or repaired items are very collectible in today's market. Known as"Make-Do's" Superbly preserved late 19th Century potty chair turned to a leather seat side chair. There was a wooden board placed over the potty hole. And a leather seat custom made, and steel tacks. The entire chair was then repainted. This current surface and repairs were most likely done about 1880-1900. The seat has been well used and the entire chair has a well worn in patina. Great folky paint over the original surface. We love the little turned balls on the top of the stiles. This is an early 20th century reproduction of a Philadelphia Low Back Writing Arm Chair. Solid Maple and Oak. Hickory and Pine. Beautiful Condition-very sturdy. 5 coats of paint. One coat of primer. 2 coats of Brick Red milk paint, and 2 coats of Federal Blue milk paint. The chair has been distressed using very fine steel wool. Then a coat of boiled linseed oil is hand-rubbed into the milk paint and acts as a seal. Finally the chair is buffed out with a soft cloth to get the satin finish. It's beautiful! The chair is a very generous size. 29" high in back. 29" wide and 17" deep. Seat area is 20" by 15" The seat height from the floor is 17.5" The writing arm is 22" by 16" You can only find these chairs in custom Windsor chair shops and they are well over $1000. My husband made this chair probably in the late 1970's from a Bartley Collection kit. It is about 38 inches tall. 24 and 1/2 inches wide, with a seat depth of 14 inches and a total depth of 18 and 1/4th. As best I recall, it is made up of mixed woods, with ash for the framework and pine for the seat. The seat does have a lot of scratches on it, but otherwise the chair is in good condition without any broken and mended parts. Up for auction is an antique wood hand painted folk art child's Windsor style potty chair recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. It is found in good used condition. There is a hole in the base of the seat, with plug to hold the seat when not in use. It features green pinstripes, with floral decoration on the seat and crest. There are holes in each arm, probably where a tray attached. It features a wonderful warm red color with green and yellow pinstripes and off white flowers on the crest. Wonderful original finish and patina. Nice original wear throughout. The right arm rest is a bit loose and could benefit from re-glueing. Wear on the feet looks normal. Doll or Bear Wooden Windsor-back Chair with Writing Arm
A wooden Windsor-back style doll or bear chair. With attached writing arm. It stands about 15" high, and the seat is roughly 5 1/2" x 6" A doll about 13-15" would fit. It is dark brown in color. And the workmanship is not great, see photos. It does have some very nice features; the turned legs, the delicate back spokes, and the writing arm. Early 19th Century Vasiform Splat Back Windsor Arm Chair Stamped M QUINCEY
This auction features what I believe to be is a rare late 1700s European vasiform splat back. Low back Windsor chair. It's primitive construction includes visible pegs in the seat from where the legs are attached, peg construction throughout and uneven turnings. There are also nails throughout the chair that I believe were added later for reinforcement or perhaps a historic repair. The finish is undeniably original and with a beautiful patina. Its original and period spanish brown painted surface is extensively worn as one would expect along the seat, back, and especially along the armrests, which are so smooth they have a different feel than the rest of the wood. The hoop back and comb design is accented by a simple and unornate splat with a marginal vase shape. The feet are worn and at uneven lengths, but the chair has been leveled. ... moreIt is strong and sturdy and can easily still perform its intended function. It stands approximately 34.5" high, and the seat is approximately 19.5" wide. The bottom of the chair is branded MQUINCEY but I have not been able to find any information on this maker.

Darling vintage child's bentwood chair. I believe it is a combination of woods-pine and oak. Probably dates from the 40s. The legs have been re-glued to the base of the chair and needs to have some cosmetic work done-please see photos. There is also a small split in the seat; looks as though it has been that way for many years. But I have photographed it. The chair is 22 inches high; 10 x 10 inch seat. The seat is 9 inches from the floor. Just the right size for a small child or as a decorative item. Used in a smoke free home.

The black paint is still nice and shiny and I don't see any nicks in the wood, other than one spindle that has a crack at the top near the head of the rocker. The spindle is still in place, but does have some movement if pressure is applied. This could easily be repaired with a little wood glue. Antique Windsor Rocker Boston Rocker This curved back(bowed back) antique rocking chair belongs to my neighbor who has owned it for about 60 years. She received it from a great aunt. Who had it for many, many years. This chair is absolutely gorgeous. And has a wonderful old patina throughout, but especially on the back, chair and arms. The gold accent painting is beautiful. You can tell from the patina that this chair was well used and well loved! Please note that there is one blemish/gouge on the back of the chair frame. There is also a gouge and a crack in the wood on one of the base spindles. However, there are no structural issues associated with it. The chair is very solid and well built. AMERICAN FANBACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIR. LANCASTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Circa 1790-1810 Item# 502FQS14P A fine and rare acquisition. This seven-spindle American Fanback Windsor side chair features a wonderful serpentine crest rail curling in carved fanback ears, the spindles sinking into this and several affixed with wooden pins driven through. On either side, crisply turned stiles of a complex ring-and-baluster form are stylized with double-bead scratch decorations around the swell of the primary baluster, these tenoned entirely through the seat for strength. The ovular seat is carefully carved out with a raised ridge at the midmost point for support and comfort. Each of the four legs tenon through the seat and are joined with split-wedge tenons. The blunt-arrow tipped front legs feature the barrel-and-baluster form leg highly typical of Pennsylvania ... morecraftsmen, a scratch bead highlighting the center of the barrel where the H-form stretchers join the four legs. The medial stretcher generally features a bold swell with flanking ring turnings on this form(see notes below) leading us to question the originality of the stretchers, as these can be easily worn out and broken over time- we believe them to be original, after having spent a great deal of time examining them, but ask that you verify this on your own prior to purchasing. For the serious collector of American furnishings. This is a wonderful acquisition that remains incredibly sturdy and stable, a work of art that can be actively enjoyed in the home. AMERICAN BOWBACK WINDSOR SIDE CHAIR. PENNSYLVANIA Probably Philadelphia or surrounding counties. C. 1800 Item# 502RZX14 A very well preserved piece of early 19th century material culture. This fine American Bowback Windsor side chair originates from Pennsylvania during the first years of the century, probably the outskirts of Philadelphia c. 1800-10. Retaining an old crusty surface in the less exposed portions of the chair, under the legs and stretchers, beneath the seat and tucked inside the scratched beading of the crest rail, the piece remains in as nearly original of a state as is likely to survive. The shield form seat is carved out and shaped for comfort, the crest rail tenoned through the edges of the seat on either side around the long tapered spindles that drop in shallow wells in the seat, all of this surrounded by a shallow channel ... moreetched around the back of the seat. We have not had the woods microanalyzed, but the crest rail appears to be ash, the spindles ash or hickory, the seat a wonderful worn solid plank of yellow pine, the legs and stretchers turned from soft maple. The legs tenon through the seat and are affixed with a split wedge tenon. The legs are turned in a manner rather specific to Philadelphia and the outlying counties, each in a bamboo-style of turning with a double baluster turning along the medial stretcher and each leg, the side stretchers with a single swollen baluster.
