This is an absolute perfect miniature Sheraton Wash Stand. It measures 15" tall. Is 9" wide and 9" deep. It retains its original painted surface and pinstripe decoration. Played with but a great looking surface. The turnings are very masterfully done. It looks like it retains its original mirror and comes with a graniteware pan with a red bottom that fits perfectly but may or may not be original to the piece. The most well executed miniature that I've seen. I'm guessing that it probably dates to the thirties or forties but that's just a guess. It's a very old piece. And 6" tall and about 3/4" thick. It has a beveled edge as you can see in the first picture. The last picture is of the back. I don't see any visible cracks or major flaws. There is what looks like a rust stain that measures about 1 1/2" long, the darker spots that you can see, and a textured, unpolished surface. Beautiful Antique Wash Stand With Mirror Made in North Carolina!
This antique wash stand was made in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It measures 34 inches tall to the top of the stand beneath the mirror. And it is 36 inches wide. The mirror has a few spots that have black showing through, but it is in otherwise good condition. It needs to be refinished, it is a great example of early 20th century furniture. Stunning Antique Victorian 19th Century Doulton Burslem Wash Stand Bowl Blues I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! This one is a show stopper. What I have is a late 19th century wash stand bowl marked on the bottom by the maker. Doulton Burslem. The mark dates the piece to between 1886, when the company added the crown to the mark(to commemorate the appointment of Henry Doulton as"Potter to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales" to 1891, when the word England was added to the bottom of the mark- which this one does not have. I do not know what the patten is called, but it is gorgeous ... morein white and shades of blue that are accented with gold, and with what I think looks like a a sponged on gold accent all around the body of the bowl. The rim of the bowl has a fancy scrolly pattern and is topped off with a border of the gold. The bowl also has an impressed mark on the underside that I'm showing in photo 14- I cannot read it, though. This is a large bowl- big enough to hold a pitcher that I do not have. I'm betting you could add your own pitcher, or just display and use the bowl as it is, because it is gorgeous. During the holidays I have a similar blue and white transferware bowl that I fill with pine cones and berries branches for a lovely statement table centerpiece. The bowl measures 15 5/8" diameter and stands 5 1/8" tall. It weighs a hefty 6 3/4 lbs. It is in amazing condition for its age. You can see crazing that is light all over. In photo 6, you can see an old dried piece of masking tape that was on the bowl that had what looked like parts of pen and ink writing on it(a family note, perhaps? This is a great little cabinet/dry sink/cupboard etc. That is so versatile. It is made of wood- I think it is mahogany- and comes with a marble top and back splash. The cabinet has one long top drawer and two narrower drawers down the left side, with a cupboard door on the right side. My family used it as a small bar- but the possibilities are endless! The chest itself is in great structural condition- dovetailed drawers are secure. All handles are present, and hinges on door are fine. Thnere is a piece of trim on the door that has some damage- I'm not sure if it is original to the piece, but it can be easily replaced. The marble top and backsplash have some marks. I do not know how to remove these safely, so have not tried. Both the top and backsplash are not secured to the cabinet, and for the most part, the cabinet was used with only ... morethe top. In the photographs, the back splash is just leaning against the wall. Please note the original top had a big hole in it to receive a washbowl so it was replaced with a solid piece of cherry for practical use. No.2 the original drawer knob had gone missing and was replaced with a Edwardian turn of the century metal pull. The stand is 31.5 inches tall and table top surface is 18 by 18 inches. This is about 52" tall, and 18"x18" I have no idea as to the age of this piece, most everyone on Ebay claims theirs to be old or antique. I acquired this in the last 20 years from the 100+ year old hotel in Golconda, IL. It has been known as the Riverview hotel, and in later years, the Mansion.
