But I am having a really hard time deciphering it, it appears to be someone's name and then a place in New York. The trunk does have railroad transportation labels on both sides of the trunk. The trunk does have some wear as you can see, original front lock hardware is missing and it does have surface loss. Some of the paint has alligatored a bit on the sides as you can see from the photos. Trunk measures 35.25 inches wide by 17.25 inches deep by 17 inches tall. It has labels for New York Central Railroad and Westcott express one side and the other side has a very partial label and from what I can tell it is in French. The front of the trunk may read Hauve(France)New York. I think this is a really nice piece, I think it has a good folk art look to it and great to find it with original green paint. The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. Condition: Used Location: Hendersonville, United States Up for auction is a vintage steamer truck/chest from a mansion in Scarsdale. New York. The family stated it was an ancestral trunk. It was wrapped in ... moresheets in the attic. The outside looks good for its age. One of the leather handles is intact the other is broken but still on the trunk. The metal detailing throughout is stunning. The footing I’ve never seen. The latches say“patd 79” and the middle plate says. Patd May 54 and April 73. Hence, this is pre-1880. The inside is rough but it still has all the Victorian inserts! The inserts are in really tough shape, ripped, water damaged but it’s all there. The entire drawer/insert comes out. Size is approximately 32”X25”X14” It’s all original…I won’t even dust it. IT STILL HAS THE KEY AND IT WORKS! And. As always, a few notes from the disclaimer department. Everything is“as is. I do not accept returns. I take a lot of pictures and love to answer questions so ask away. Now for the bad news…I AM NOT SHIPPING THIS. IT’S PICK-UP ONLY. Condition: Used Location: Glen Ellyn, United States Charming old wardrobe trunk available to add to your collection of antiques! Since it is super heavy. Local Pickup only. What's so cool about this ... morewardrobe trunk is that it has features that so many of the other wardrobes you see don't have or they're missing! Also. It was restored approximately 20 years ago and is still in good condition. You may want to repaint or reline the trunk to make it your own, but you don't have to worry about a bunch of repairs because they were already done. For example, the metal trim was not brass and so it was painted. It could easily be repainted to suit your needs. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing board, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it safe for travel. I believe the walls, bottom and lid are made of thin plywood with ... morean exterior lining of sheet metal.Measuring about 29½" x 14½" and about 10¼" tall, it has a single leather or faux leather carrying handle on the front, right beside the lock. The inside is lined with paper printed with a wood grain design. I don't know the age of it, but it looks mid twentieth century, doesn't it? I also don't see any sign of manufacturer identification, and no labels to tell where it traveled. It has some surface scuffs and scratches. Especially on the top and bottom, in fact there are some distinct pressure dents around the edge of the lid, as shown in the third picture below. I have a lot of 3 vintage pieces for sale. The smallest is a Samsonite. Probably from the 50s. Great condition and nice patina. It has 1 folding compartment. It measures approximately 21x15x7 inches. The medium is also a Samsonite, probably from the 50s. Great condition, with a little bit of staining on the fabric. It has 2 compartments one of which has original hangers. It measures approximately 24x18x8 inches. The big one is a steamer trunk made by Air Pak. I'm guessing it's early 20th century and it's in amazing condition. The trunk is monogrammed with the initials"E.W.J. I was unable to locate a manufacturer name or logo. The trunk is in"usable" condition as it's not falling apart. But it has seen better days- PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PHOTOS! The trunk looks as though it originally had leather side handles. Unsure of the covering. But it may have been some sort of leather(hoping the experts will know from the photos) Some of the locks are either damaged. Or are missing parts. Missing one of the metal top corner protectors. VINTAGE 1953/1954 Hudson Jet Hood Ornament and Trunk Pull Badge Emblem
These vintage Hudson Jet OEM parts are from my grandfather's farm estate in VA. They were in his garage/barn and are in fair original condition. They came from a 1953/1954 model. Both are 60 years old and are pitted. But would look great with a re-chrome. Hood ornament part number reads 285810 and trunk pull reads 236345. The Hudson Jet was a compact automobile produced by the Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit. Michigan during the 1953 and 1954 model years. The Jet was Hudson's response to the popular Nash Rambler, and Hudson, with its financial resources, chose to pursue a compact instead of refurbishing its line of full-size cars. The fabric is rough, inside and out. It seen better days. There is where all over. There is also a small burnt spot. I am guessing it's lucky to still be where. I am sorry to say. Vintage Hard Plastic 17" Walker Doll, 15" Toni Doll, trunk & clothes TLC lot
Lot includes two hard plastic vintage dolls.I'm guessing from the 1950s. Handmade clothes, and trunk or small suitcase. One of the dolls is marked P-91 Ideal Toni, and is approx. 15" She has large splits on both sides of head; lips, fingernails and toenails have been painted(probably by the little girl who played with her.it might even be nail polish) hair is messy and may be missing some or possibly cut. Loose limbs do not hold a pose. Skin on body and limbs look discolored(see photo) Clothes are handmade with rips, tears, stains, missing buttons, etc. Trunk is in worn, vintage condition, no longer locks. Leather surface of handle is crackled. Has a sticker on one side(an old United Airlines sticker) Surface has wear. The case does close, and I was able to pick up by the handle, but it is fragile and I recommend using it for display ... moreonly. A piece of the lock has come off, and so the case does not lock. The 17" walking doll is unmarked, and has a small worn surface on her back(see photo) part of the underside of her wig shows on one side. Pretty skin tone.still pinkish. Doll"walks" by moving legs which turns the head to the side. Arms do not swing when doll"walks" I personally think she is a very pretty doll with nice gold-colored hair. Walking doll has"teeth. The eyes on both dolls open and close. Lot is sold as-is. In played-with condition. Not for the mint collector. I would consider this a"TLC" lot. But the walking doll is in better condition than the Toni doll. Hair on both dolls could use restyling. I typically do not accept returns on vintage dolls unless the item is not as described. This is a really nice vintage/ antique circa 1920s small metal doll size flat top steamer trunk for doll clothes or doll accessories. The finish is bright and shiny. The trunk is black and the metal trim is a purple swirl. This trunk is in great condition for its age. It looks like one of the leather straps may have been repaired. There is no key for the lock. Please view the pictures they will help in the description of the trunk. The trunk is made of metal with a paper lining. Measures approx 10" long, 6" tall, 6" deep. Vintage crème colored elephant planter. Trunk up- good luck. Circa 1940's-50's. Gloss finish. Unmarked McCoy. But it reflects the quality of a McCoy piece, however I am not an expert on pottery. Does have fine crazing, glaze bubbles and old crack on back side which does not go thru to inside(see photos) The crack is tight and the piece is still very sturdy.
