Original U. S. Trunk Company Vintage Antique Flat Trunk 35" X 20" X 13"
Vintage Trunk U. S. Trunk Company 35" X 20" X 13" This is a trunk that has been around a while. It has issues. The inside looks better than the outside. I did not find a key. The first wooden hanger that shows in the picture has a broken end. The end still reaches past the bar. But the bottom of the right hand side is broken off. On one of the other hangers the laminations are coming apart. There are two compartments opposite the hangers portion. The top compartment is on hinges. And the bottom compartment can be taken completely out of the trunk. Those two compartment are in reasonably good shape. There is a compartment than can be covered with a piece of cloth at the bottom on the hanger side. That compartment is in poor shape. You can see the splits in the finish on the outside of the trunk. It needs to be refinished. All ... morethe hasps seem to work. I didn't try to do anything with the lock since there is no key. If you live close enough to Tower. MN to pick this up it would simplify shipping. If you don't I will be happy to wrap this in cardboard and tape and bring it to the UPS store in Virginia, MN 55792. Description These bags were purchased in the late 80's. Used sparingly. They are both in excellent functional condition. The standard trunk measures 6" x 10" x 7" deep. It has 3 side pockets and a removable shoulder strap as well as a strap handle on top. There are no rips. Tears or holes. It is a soft sided bag with foam shaping and attaches to the rack with velcro. The smaller bag is a six-pack cooler. Foam insulated with a plastic liner. It will stand alone or will fit inside the larger trunk. The velcro rack attachment straps convert to a shoulder strap if desired. It also is free from damage. On close inspection both bags show a little color spotting. I have not tried to clean them and offer no opinion if this can be remedied. It is not apparant from 2 feet away so never bothered me. Vintage Small Metal Flattop Steamer Trunk
This item is a very nice small metal flattop steamer trunk. It measures 28" x 14.5"x 18" It has the new leather handles. Someone painted this trunk red. We did not change it. The front bottom section has four paint chips shown in picture 9. Even with the paint chips this is a very nice little trunk. It has been lined inside with quilt batting and black and red floral pattern material. This is a very nice little trunk, which would make any little girl a very nice Christmas present. This item is a very nice vintage wooden flattop steamer trunk. It measures 28.5" x 16.5" x 18.5" It does have a crack across the top. But it has be reinforced with a new top on the inside. It has the ne leatherl handles. The latches on the front are sprung, which is not unusal for a trunk of this age, It has been lined inside with quilt batting and a red colored floral pattern material. Thanks for looking. SUBLIME VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC BLUE MOSSMAN TYPE CHEST/COFFEE TABLE/ TRAVEL TRUNK This auction is for a really lovely shabby chic. Blue coloured, Mossman style, travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table. Measuring 30ins(76cms) wide x 17ins(43cms) deep x 10.5ins(27cms) high, it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective bands on the edges and corners and twin catches at the front with a central lock and clasp and a leather carrying handle. It is finished in a blue colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well but there is no key for the central lock. I nternally it has the original lining material and a lift out shirt tray. It is in good general condition but has a few signs of use as one might imagine. With scuffs, nicks, scratches and so on and one corner has had a thump at some point in the past. The lining is pretty clean ... moreand dry with minor stains and it has lifted from the edges at a couple of points, but nothing serious. please see photos) This is a beautiful old travelling chest which stands with real presence- the perfect combined storage chest and coffee table! Vintage Round Top Trunk - c.1870s
Round Top Trunk- c.1870s(Sometimes called a Camel Back) This one is in good condition considering the age and has been restored on the exterior. Including new leather handles(pics 3& 5) It is a combination of metal and wood with small caster wheels on the bottom. The interior(pics 6& 7) has the original lining on the lid. But it does not have any lining on the bottom half of the trunk. Note also that the lift-out tray is missing and there are two screws visible on the left hand side(interior) where the hinge attaches to the trunk body(pic 6) The hinge repair is also evident in pic 4, which shows where a small repair hinge has been added. It looks great in almost any decor and is very good for storing Christmas decorations. Nice Antique Doll Steamer Trunk with Insert. The trunk is missing the 2 side handles and the hinges are good along with the front lock. The inside is clean and the insert is in very good condition. There is some light paint spots on the outside of the trunk. That looks easy to remove. The trunk is 14" wide. 8 1/2" deep and 9 1/2" tall. The black metal parts on the out side have some paint loss. Important vintage leather steamer trunk belonged to Henry McNeal Turner
I bought this leather trunk in February of 2004 at an auction in Charleston SC that had many items that once belonged to Henry McNeal Turner. 12th Bishop of the African Methodist Church. See below for detailed biography. Considering the age, it is in excellent condition. Some of the leather could use some conditioning and the blue string used to make the star on the inside cover is very brittle. There are many compartments in this trunk and all of the hinges and locking mechanisms are there as far as I can tell. The color of the leather on the inside is beautiful and the details worked into this trunk are very very nice. I never cleaned or conditioned this trunk so as to leave it as it came into my possesion. The bottom has 4 metal wheels attached to two wooden skis. I have several more pictures if you would like them and also if you need ... morea picture of a specific part, just ask) The dimensions are 30"x17"x20" Please ask for a shipping quote as I feel that if you do not live close enough to pick this up in person, it needs to be crated before being shipped. The packaging is on the house as I have a crate that this will fit nicely in and I can then strap the crate to a pallet and ship it via common carrier. Vintage Steampunk Brass Plated Trunk Corners Lot of 96
These corners are NOT shiny. New brass plated pieces, they have a natural aged patina. I bought them when I was making replica trunks in the early 1970s. They are 2 3/8 inches on each side. I have hundreds and hundreds of them if you're looking for a substantial quantity. The corners and knees in the photos are typical. All the corners in my inventory are the same age so the patina is constant. The knees in the one photo are NOT part of this particular listing. As that photo shows, I have separated most with paper to prevent galvanic corrosion as the backs do not have as thick a brass plated surface as the fronts. If they would benefit your projects, I have many with minor surface rust that wipes right off with Never Dull. It does leave spots and unique markings when wiped off; actually very pretty that way. Steampunk Trunk Kit Vintage Brass Plated Hardware w/Leather Handles
This trunk hardware and leather handles are from the early 1970s. The patina on the brass is from their age. The leather handles are 9 3/4" long and three ply at 5/16" thick. There are 8 corners. 20 knees, 1 Long lock w/key, 2 large rectangular draw downs, 2 handles, 4 handle clamps, 2 hinges, and 2 lid stays. This is a similar list of hardware and handles used to build the trunk in the second photo(from 1974) thought seeing the finished product with similar hardware would help. TRUNK NOT INCLUDED, this item is the HARDWARE KIT ONLY. I can draw up the plans for that one if it would help a project. I handmade the metal trim from sheet aluminum and cut the bows from 3/4" X 2 1/4" oak that I split and rounded the edges of each half on a table router, pretty easy stuff. Once contained confections from Murray Allen and the tin was made in West Germany. It looks to date to the 1960s. The tin has some vintage wear and patina. There are some small areas of wear. GINORI CAPODIMONTE PORCELAIN TRUNK SHAPED TRINKET BOX VINTAGE The original Capodimonte porcelain company 1759 closed in the early 1800's and the business.Including original molds,was divided into several companies which are Doccia, Richard Ceramics and Ginori. When the factory closed in 1834 it was the Ginori family of Doccia Italy who acquired and continued the tradition of Capodimonte using the same marks and in 1896 it became Richard Ginori. They now still use many of the old molds and the Capodimonte Blue Crown and N mark. Due to the lack of copyright protection for Capodimonte porcelain in marks, there were many factories that used the same marks or similar variations of them. This is often in an effort by the factory to label the style rather than claiming that the porcelain is genuine Capodimonte porcelain. Let me say that this ... morebeautiful hard paste porcelain box is Capodimonte most likely by Ginori. It has the signature Capodimonte blue crown and N and is vintage but it is definitely NOT ANTIQUE Capodimonte. It measures 4 x 2 1/2 x 3 1/4" high. The box has a distinct oriental flavor in the design. It is decorated on the sides with a central band of birds and animals between two bands of florals and scrolls. This decoration runs completely around the bottom half of the box. The domed top has six vignettes of rather unusual figures each surrounded by a gold hand painted ring. There seems to be a nude woman with a doctor, a woman with her hands bound and being held over a fire, a crowd of people, a religious figure, a mother holding hands with two children,and one with a bearded Chinese judge looking figure standing at a podium. On the top is someone attacking another with a sword and a lady standing with her arm around another woman. The box is mounted in a textured ornate gilt brass frame with a decorative push closure with a shell motif. The inside of the top lid and the bottom of the box has hand painted roses and leaves. This is a really cool vintage trunk made by Texas Trunks out of San Antonio Texas. There is a sticker on the back that seems to put it on united van lines in 1925! To be honest this thing is in very nice shape for something around 90 years old. All straps and buckles are intact and in great shape. The key is missing. There are some scuffs and rubs from the one or two times it looks like it was used for legitimate travel. and on the back panel the laminate is kinda separated from the plywood. You can not see this in the photo.you can only feel it when you run your hand across the back.VERY MINOR. UPDATE: large" Heavy Duty Vintage Rustic wood Russian Military Snyper Rifle 91/30 tranfer storage Crate. Wooden-Chest/ Trunk, COOL COFFEE TABLE/ GUN RACK. Original oiled paper to prevent gun rust, bunch of canvas tool or ammo sacks seen in picture 8 comes with each trunk. Recently found out these are Russian crates made to hold 91/30 rifles, We have several of these trunks in stock, some have different shades of green, made of pine or cedar wood? Have wood, oil paper, or cedar smell once opened! Trunk in picture has oil/ dirt on top that should wipe clean with some elbow grease, they do have minor defects such as peeling paint, wood chips/ cracks. Sold as is as Found. These could date back to as early as 1930's? We have 3 left and will pick the best ones first. A friend made one of these trunks into a coffee table gun rack, cut good ... moresized hole in top, put glass over top, put light inside and made racks inside to hold his prized possession guns and ammo. Vintage Fiberco Laundripack Mailing Trunk - 1938
You are viewing a Vintage Fiberco Laudripak Mailing Trunk from 1938. This trunk was used to mail soiled clothing from my late grandfather back to his parents in Southern West Virginia to be cleaned while he was away at school. This was later used just as a"suitcase" of sorts. The mailing trunk is over 75 years old and I took many photos from all different angles to show you the shape this piece of history is in. The stamps that are on the front of the Laundripak are from the 1938 Presidential Series and include 50 cent William Howard Taft 20 cent Thomas Garfield 3 cent Thomas Jefferson stamps. So from the stamps it looks like this was last mailed in 1938. Smoke free home and let me know if I can provide any more information.
