The trunk itself is in good condition, structurally, although I am unsure of its actual age. The trunk has gotton wet at some point, and the moisture damage and staining goes all the way through to the inside of the trunk. The covering on the outside of the trunk is worn, torn, and coming off in this area as well. The trunk has a hinged lid, and the original lining is still inside the bottom portion of the trunk. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice olive green covering that is mainly intact, except for the aforementioned area, and metal reinforced seams.

Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. This trunk is in original shape except a nylon strap that replaced leather hinge strap. The key is long gone and its missing some leather handles ect. due to age. Vintage Steampunk Brass Plated Trunk Corners Lot of 32
These corners are NOT shiny. New brass plated pieces, they have a natural aged patina. I bought them when I was making replica trunks in the early 1970s. They are 2 3/8 inches on each side. I have hundreds and hundreds of them if you're looking for a substantial quantity. The corners in the photo are typical. All the corners in my inventory are the same age so the patina is constant. I have separated most with paper to prevent galvanic corrosion as the backs do not have as thick a brass plated surface as the fronts. If they would benefit your projects, I have many with minor surface rust that wipes right off with Never Dull. It does leave spots and unique markings when wiped off; actually very pretty that way. These corners(see other listings for knees) are perfect for building Steampunk furniture.

This is a really cool vintage trunk made by Texas Trunks out of San Antonio Texas. There is a sticker on the back that seems to put it on united van lines in 1925! To be honest this thing is in very nice shape for something around 90 years old. All straps and buckles are intact and in great shape. The key is missing. There are some scuffs and rubs from the one or two times it looks like it was used for legitimate travel. and on the back panel the laminate is kinda separated from the plywood. You can not see this in the photo.you can only feel it when you run your hand across the back.VERY MINOR. Up for sale is a vintage beer stein made in Germany. I don't know a lot about this piece. But it is older and in pretty good shape. The stein itself is pewter and stamped Made in Germany on the bottom with a mark that I can't quite make out. The lid is metal and a little loose, but intact. The paint is nice with no chips or cracks anywhere, and has the German phrase"Der Trunk seiklar Dein Lieb sei rar" on the side behind the handle. Very nice piece for the right collector and I am sure this would make a nice addition to any collection. Extra Large Vintage Steamer Trunk 36" X 20" X 22"
Sturdy trunk could be used as a coffee table. The hinge and latches work and it will stay open be its self. The lock appears to work but I don't have a key so I can't really test it. It is a wood frame covered with a hard plastic like sheeting with metal corners and accents. Dark green. Gold and red. This trunk has a lot of history. Left over shipping tags, scratches and marks, it even looks like a double bladed rip saw tried to cut off one of the bottom corners until it hit the metal corner braces and you can see in the last photo that one blade made it all the was through, one of the thick leather handles on the side is worn almost all the way through and it wouldn't survive if the trunk had a load in it. Large Vintage Trunk - C.1920's Ideal Stage Prop. Interior Design. Coffee Table
For Sale I have this fantastic Vintage Travel Chest measuring 20.5 inches across. 16.5 inches wide, and 15 inches deep, and made by the Flaxite Foundation circa. 1920, so British Made, and probably tied in with the Papworth Industries who I think made them, and another suitcase I listed earlier. This is a great rectangular box shape. Very sturdy and solid, internally and externally lined with flax, with thick leather corner protectors& an incredibly solid leather handle. The outer covering is a lovely well worn brown colour, with solid bronzed clasps that work perfectly, but are sadly without keys. Internally is a clear cream check. This is a very well used packing case. And shows masses of wear and character. It has"U. S. in large black letters on two sides, and would look ideal on a western stagecoach, or paddle steamer.

Unique & Lovely Vintage Tin Box Pastel Embossed Treasure Chest Trunk W Germany
Beautiful and Unusual Embossed Pastel Treasure Chest Tin I’m sort of enamored with this small vintage tin. I haven’t stumbled across one like it before. It’s an oddly shaped treasure chest. I guess, done in pastel colors with highly embossed details. The background color is a gray/silver color. The bottom is a good bit narrower than the top, the lid is curved and hinged, and the tin stands on four little rounded feet. The tin probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s and was made in Western Germany. The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear. Some small scratches and scuffs, light handling marks and light soiling, some minor dents/dings, etc. On the back side. The two areas on the outside of the hinge dip down, but this appears intentional. Several small rust spots on the inside of the tin. The main issue with this tin is that ... morethe sides are off kilter a bit. Which you can see very clearly when the tin isn’t closed all the way. Closing takes a little coaxing, and won’t hold tight if handled. Again. Condition issues of note: Sides off kilter a bit. Closing needs coaxing and lid won’t stay shut if tin is handled. But displays well if left alone. Several small rust spots inside. Approximate size of tin is about 3.5” by 5 7/8” by about 3 5/8” tall at widest areas. The tin is empty. If you like tins. Nice Old Antique Trunk. I am not sure of the exact age. But the lock on it is from Eagle Lock Co. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age of the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the ... morepictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. This is an antique steamer trunk. Used for transportation of personal items while traveling by train or the like. The production date is estimated to be pre-1900. Vintage Steamer Trunk with Railroad Tag From 1948 With Key
You are viewing a vintage steamer trunk. You may have viewed many trunks before but how many have US Customs and Railway Express tags dated 1948, its amazing that a paper tag can remain attached and legible for 65 years. To top that off it still has a key for the lock, its a really neat trunk. The hinges and latches are in great shape, the lock has a spring inside that is coming apart so Im nervous to try to lock it. The inside paper lining is dirty and fragile so I dont want to clean it. The handles are both there and are in good shape. If there are any questions please feel free to ask. I am going to set the shipping at $60 but if its less I will refund the difference, I sold a trunk last week that I refunded $20, the amount of cost is on the shipping tag so youll be able to verify. He was a Lt Colonel from June 1958- June 1960. During the Vietnam War. He was considered a USMC Senior Marine Advisor. He was also a Colonel in the 1965 9th Marines, Third Marine Division who were one of the first American combat troops to protect the Da Nang Airport in Vietnam, from May 6- December 31. Wilkinson was there from July 1- December 31. This information I found online from what i could understand so there could be some slight errors in the dates, etc. I was able to find a picture of him. He is second from the right in the last photo. There may be more info regarding him online. But that is what I found. It would be awesome for you to own a trunk ... morethat belonged to a Colonel during the Vietnam War. The outside dimensions are about 34 inches x 20.25 inches x 13.5 inches(tall) This item is in great vintage condition. The pictures will give you a good representation of what it looks like. Great Small Wooden Camelback Trunk Suitcase This great small tall trunk. Case measures 13 inches tall, 13 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches wide. The case is made of thin wood. With a leather handle on top. It has a beautiful metal latch. I have had several people in the"antique business" take a look at this trunk and they have no idea as to exactly WHAT it's purpose was. They guess the date of it's manufacture as early as 1930's to as late as 1950's. I have spent hours on the internet looking up Camelback Trunk salesman samples. Hat boxes, overnight cases, etc. There are no stamped markings. Etc. anywhere! What I DO know is this is an absolutely beautiful little wooden case and if I had anywhere to sit it. I have come across a lot of vinyl pieces but never one quite like this. This came straight from an estate that we purchased the contents of so it has not been cleaned up. VINTAGE STEAMER TRUNK - ANTIQUE EUC
This is a very old steamer trunk that measures 34" wide x 19" deep x 18" high. It is a caramel brown color very true to placard picture. The metal placard reads Reisearlikel-Fabrik Gebr. Locher Zurich. The top has stenciled letters FRAGILE A.D. NEW YORK. It has solid brass hardware with patina on the escucheon. There are 2 wooden bent straps around the middle and the edge reinforcements seem to be made of leather. A blue and white nautical flag is on the front and sides. It weighs about 45 lbs.
