Antique Vintage Victorian Wood Burgundy Cushion Couch Sofa Hand Crafted 1800's This is an antique fabulous Victorian sofa. It is 82" long and 39" high to the center at the back. This sofa is ornate with hand crafted hard wood decor about 2" thick in dark brown color of the grape and leaf patterns. The cushion is about 4" at highest point. 58" long without arm, and 20" deep. It is an original tanned upholstery with the small mauve flower pattern. It is decorated with some fabric buttons on the cushion. The cushion is very firm. There are 3 light water stains on the cushion sitting area as shown in the pictures. There is a small worn area on the fabric of the left arm. No major damage on the cushion. The cushion is 5" high from the floor. It has the brass rivets stitched along the cushion all the way around ... morethe front. The arm is 24 1/2" high from the floor. Each arm of the sofa has embossed hand crafted grape leaf design. There is a wooden surface damage on the top right arm. The stitching at the back along the left arm has come detached about 2" The legs are very stunning with the hand carvings on wood about 2 3/4" thick. The end of the legs have brass wheels about 1" diameter. There is a tear at the back on right foot area of the upholstery about 2" but it is not noticeable. The back felt cover is purple/ blue, it is faded. There are rusty nails holding back cover, that is partially torn off. The bottom of the couch covered with the fabric, it is old, has no tears. All the tears mentioned can be fixed. All is in great shape. This piece is really classic antique look, was kept well by our grandmother circa 1800's. Sold as is. Local pick-up only. The underneath springs were professionally rebuild and reupholstered. Solid and firm. With its graceful front. Free flowing arms, and incredible hand carved front, legs and arms, this settee is sure to please. This settee is amazing; it sets the stage with not only a beautiful carved frame. But with its breathtaking needlepoint. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. No holes, no lose threads. In fantastic original condition. Here we have for offer a good Victorian mahogany Chesterfield style mahogany three seater settee dating to the second half of the 19th century. This good sized sofa has a well padded back with scrolled arms over a sprung seat being raised on mahogany turned legs with later castors. Condition wise the back and arms are fine being well stuffed and padded. The seat is comfortable but little soft in places although the springs have not gone and just need a little tightening and padding. Although we cannot say with any certainty that this sofa was made by John Henry Belter. One of the preeminent American cabinetmakers of the 19th century, it hails from the same time period and is strikingly similar to Belter's intensely beautiful and ornate Rococo Revival furniture. It was professionally(and tastefully) re-upholstered in 2000 in a deep red Damask fabric and crème pattern. This is a really gorgeous brown walnut with black inlay incise carved Victorian sofa that dates from the 1870s or'80s. It has a fantastic center crest right in the middle. Along with incise carved panels and a clamshell notch carved on top. The sofa is all solid walnut, carved throughout, including the bulbous legs, the skirts, the arms, and the back legs and side pieces. It comes beutifully covered in an equestrian style motif, which is actually in outstanding condition with only a few minor wear marks, and looks amazing against the walnut. The most important part is the frame, and that is all intact and very tight. The overall size is 67 inches on the outsides of the arms, and 59 inches on the inside. We are selling a Victorian Settee- I'm not sure how old it is exactly but I'd guess that it's from the mid to late 1800's. I purchased it from an antique store a few years ago and they didn't have any information about it. It's a pretty teal color- the back is the same as the front(the flash from the camera makes it look a little lighter but it's not) It is nicely carved and the upholstery is in very good condition- no stains or rips. I am not sure if the upholstery is original or not. The sofa measures approximately 64" long. 25" wide and the seat sits at 16. The button upholstered four chair backs above upholstered seats. Raised on four carved cabriole legs with brass fittings and ceramic castors. The settee has beautiful linen upholstery with Victorian scenes of people within a wooded landscape. In the Victorian times conversation sofas were usually placed in the middle of the room for ladies who could freely engage in conversation with other guests.
