Condition: Used Location: Fairfield, United States We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful white and gray grained turtle top marble top Victorian age parlor stand that is carved all the way ... morearound including the legs and skirts. It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

This is a typical American Eastlake Victorian furniture part. The long grooves are typical as are the style of the carvings that either represent flowers or cherries. Also the strip of fancy burl grain which is overlaid in the 1" x 8" center rectangle is typical of Eastlake Victorian style. I do not know what piece of furniture this item was attached to. Gorgeous solid black walnut slant top writing desk. Circa 1820-1860 I rescued this diamond in the rough. It had many many coats of white paint hiding this beautiful black walnut wood. I lovingly& meticulously hand restored this desk back to full glory. I restored the finish with many. Many coats of hand rubbed shellac, maintaining the antique warm glow, rubbed to a silky smooth, yet allowing the beautiful grain textures to be felt. There was a trim around the back of the top which was missing. I custom made this new back rail trim using reclaimed 250 year old black walnut. The period solid walnut hand carved drawer pulls are from a Victorian dresser The harp shaped end is gorgeous and rare. As you can easily see with its cone shaped finial on the end of the hand turned support which joins it to the drawer base. The slant top is fixed ... morein position. There is no lid that lifts up, this was designed as a writing desk, dating back to the quill pen days. There is an age shrinkage split in the top which I chose not to restore. It gives great character to this lovely piece. The drawer lock mechanisms are missing.I restored all the drawers. Carefully taking them all apart and regluing them all and now they are rock solid and slide excellently. Full depth drawers with lots of storage. The desk is finished on all sides.It is a showpiece from all angles. I purposefully left some character marks remain in this desk such as tiny chip of wood.left top edge) pinholes etc, they give this desk awesome character, I was not trying to create a reproduction piece I try and respect the antique with all of its age, history and character. Most was manufactured in the 1980's-90's. Furniture and miniatures are scaled 1"1' which is a standard size for most doll houses. If I have a box for the item it will be shown in the photo. Boxes usually have wear on them. Smoke free environment. Most of my items have been stored in a dry attic for many years, they may smell a little old but not moldy. I have found that some time in the fresh air helps eliminated any odors. I do my best to carefully pack everything well. However much of this doll house furniture ... moreis old and the glue is brittle. Occasionally a piece may come apart during shipping. Doll house furniture is easily repaired with a little with glue. ANTIQUE Victorian wooden table CIRCULAR round CLAW FEET 1880 vintage furniture
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ROUND TABLE A delightful circular antique wooden table. Dating to around 1880. It boasts four original claw feet. Gripping onto the leg bases, all of which are carved from the same piece of wood as the leg. They are on the original Victorian metal rounded tips. Completely original and unaltered with regards to its structure! The joints are mainly glued into place. And there's very few metal screws in the construction. As you can see. It's got a number of scratches, dents and scuffs from over the years, and a bit of gentle restoration will have it looking simply superb. There are no signs of woodworm or damage from water or damp. While all measurements are as accurate as I can make them. They must be labelled as approximations, as I've rounded up and down rather than put in the millimeters. The top is 61cm in ... morediameter. Lip is 6cm. Then legs are 42cm. Total height is 48cm. The claw feet are 6cm square. This table has been varnished quite roughly at some point with a quite shiny varnish. Which looks rather glossy, so it's the perfect project if you're into removing the varnish and either revarnishing it with a matt varnish, or restoring it back to the original wood. If you like it how it is, however, then it's ready to use! Please note. All items sold are dispatched via courier and are tracked and insured.
