Made in England, Victorian era, Circa 1890, Mahogany, Hidden drawer, Carved leg, Dovetailed drawer, Some normal wear to top, Age splits and old repairs to apron, A wonderful antique specimen from England around 1890. This hall table was probably once used as a washstand. But today would function perfectly in a foyer, entryway, hallway, or stairwell. The mahogany has a particularly nice patina to it that can only come with age. The piece features a hidden drawer in the middle for a little bit of storage room. The nicely carved front leg gives the table some pizazz while the clean lines of the piece don't over do it. The drawer is dovetailed, a sign of high quality craftsmanship. There are a few age splits and old repairs in the apron shown in the photos. These are purely cosmetic phenomenon and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. The top also shows wear marks consistent with age and has a faded ring to the right side. Overall the table is quite sturdy and would make a wonderful addition to any home. The top is a beautiful patinated mahogany. It is in good condition. You can see the slight ring to the right side. The top does show signs of wear consistent with age in the form of tiny dings all over the surface some of which can be seen here. The wonderfully carved leg is supportive and good looking. The hidden drawer pulls out to reveal some storage space. The drawer is dovetailed. A sign of high quality craftsmanship. Both sides have similar slight age separations and repairs on the apron. Veill- I am trying to find a signture It is like his style though. Condition: Sturdy. Original patina. The brass tacks on the top of the chair appear to be original. The tacks in the carpet. The carpet, and the material on the back are probably not original. Looks to have been reupholstered years ago and was very well done. The carpet really fits that period. Size: This antique folding rocking chair is 17-1/2" wide. Unfolded it stands 33-1/2" tall X 17-1/2" wide X 22" deep. The seat of the chair slants and is 14" from the ground in the rear and 15-3/4" from the ground in the front. Folded flat it is 38-1/2" tall. Still 17-1/2" wide, and 6-1/2" deep. This chair folds for easy storage. It is a fine dark wood with a beautiful patina. I believe it is walniut. It is built very well and comfortable. The back gently curves. On each side of the top back are two Victorian finlials. The seat is similar a carpet material. But may not be original. It looks great though. There is some fringe missing on the carpet on the top of the chair. This chair is from the 1800s. We bought it in an antique shop years ago and used it at Civil War Reenactments. You are bidding on a beautiful piece of vintage furniture from my Aunt's collection. I remember this piece being in her home for the last 40 years. I am not certain where it came from originally, but this is a very nice solid oak piano stool, with adjustable seat, lovely glass ball and claw feet, and very nice design. It has very minor wear from age as we were not allowed to sit or play on it. I searched for a name or maker and only could find an incised number in the bottom of the top of the stool. The stool measures 14" across(seat and leg to leg) the height is 19" up to 20.5" a terrific addition to a collection. Shipping listed is for standard post. Spectacular"Highly Figured Solid Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts. All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of ... morehand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. They will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. This piece is solid. One of the nicest panels I have ever sold! May have been made by the famous furniture maker R.J. Horner. But not certain. Circa, 100+ years old. Wood appears to be walnut. It has a wonderfully framed, bevelled, center recessed panel. Inside has dramatically 3 dimensional carvings. Middle head appears to be a roaring lion with mythical griffins to the left and right. If that wasn't enough, the outside border is also elaborately detailed. Great rich patina. Some outside border wear, but wonderful overall condition. This is an absolutely SHOWSTOPPER of a piece.
