The carving and the craftsmanship of this throne is nothing short of stunning. The detail is so intricate and incredibly ornate.I believe that it is stained white oak. I've searched the throne over extensively and cannot find a maker's mark or name. I imported them myself from France/Belgium. The upholstery has obviously been redone sometime recently, and is in very good condition, with little sign of wear. The chair has sabre legs on the back, and turned tapering legs on the front. Condition: Used Location: Chicago, United States Available is an antique Heywood Wakefield Victorian wicker chair. It is not a reproduction. I don't know the year it was made. But I was told by an ... moreexperienced antique dealer that it was 19th century. Condition is good. I don't want the chair to sound worse than it is, but I also want to describe any condition issues. It does have a few minor breaks in the gingerbread filigree, but they are very few and very minor and could easily be repaired. I have enjoyed the chair as it is. Considering its age, the chair is in great condition. If I live to be as old as this chair I hope I am in this good condition! The chair measures about 42 inches tall to the top of the chair, the front to back width is about 22 inches, while the left to right width is about 20 inches. Here is a description of the breaks. I don't want this to sound worse than it is. But I want to be accurate. See photos as well. The damage is minor, and mostly is to the curly-cue decorations. It appears that they could be glued. In the case of a missing piece, it would involve a piece of cane and beads. Here it is: at top of the back of seat there is a break at the left and right side. Some wicker"ties" that hold the decorations together are missing. In the middle, there are 2 breaks in the gingerbread, but these could be glued. On the opposite side there is a piece of missing cane and beads. I have seen replacement beads for sale, as well as cane. The wood seat is warped, but I was able to sit in the chair. The seat is still serviceable, but you may want to replace it either with wood or cane. If the chair is turned over the original cane is visible, so this once had a cane seat. There is one curly-cue on the back of the leg that is broken, but it could be glued. As can be seen in the photos, there is some paint loss, however that is to be expected. The wicker underneath on the leg is in fine condition. I am willing to work with you on shipping. However I have made this customer pick-up. To be shipped, this would have to be sent in a

For the most part this is in excellent condition, we are calling it shabby chic condition as there is some loose and missing wicker, primarily on the under support legs, the main body is great. It measures approx. 22 1/2" x 20 1/2" x 14 1/2" We found the following on Wikiepedia: The 1800s brought immense popularity for wicker in Europe. England, and North America. It was used outdoors as well as indoors. ANTIQUE VINTAGE VICTORIAN 20" WOOD CARVED CHAIR SPLAT
An old 20" Victorian Chair Splat never used and not completely finished as you can see in the photos. It is 8" across the top and 5 1/4" on the bottom and 1" thick. I got it from a master craftsman who is in his late 80's and was forced to down size to a smaller shop and was getting rid of extra pieces he saved over the years for patterns etc. It would make nice wall hanger with a nice antique finish. It has a slight curve as you can see in the photo. This craftsman had a shop in NY City at one time years ago and once made a set of chairs for Nat King Cole.

Victorian style Ladies Chair with Great Rose Carving
This is a chair in excellent condition as far as the walnut wood and structure are concerned. It has some issues with staining on the upholstery that should be addressed. I think these show up pretty good in the pics. The carving on the back is outstanding and a step above what you normally see in these rose chairs. I suspect this chair is probably from the 1970's. But I can't be sure. I bought it at a doctor's estate sale about 20 years ago. This is listed for local pickup, but delivery might be an option if you live close enough by and we can agree on a fee.

Two 18" Victorian table legs never used and not completely finished as you can see in the photos. They are about 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" at their widest on the top and the rail is 2 1/2" by 1 1/2" thick. They are Rams Horn and Foot design. I got them from a master craftsman who is in his late 80's and was forced to down size to a smaller shop and was getting rid of extra pieces he saved over the years for patterns etc.

There are exceptional details such as the butterfly front curvature of the chair seat. The turned wood is featured throughout and even includes the seat supports. The legs feature squared feet with stretcher supports between each leg. The fabric is luxurious with a high nap. Abundant padding was used and both the seat and the chair back are raised 1.5" above the chair frame. Brass nailhead trim accents the upholstery. These STUNNING chairs feature ornately carved Rosewood frames and beautiful fabric with extensive nailhead trim. The chairs feature exaggerated lines which give them a gorgeous profile. The backs are curved, in Louis XIV style, and have an hourglass appearance from the front and back views. The seats are extremely wide with lovely contoured fronts. The chairs are armless but the wooden frames extend downward in such a manner as to give them the appearance of having small, petite arm rests. The carving of the wood is lovely and features leaves and cherries on the top center frames. Small, French crosses are notched into the frames on each side of the leaf and cherry design. Carved acanthus leaves on the upper sides of the frames give the chairs ... morea subtle, winged" look. The front legs are cabriole with the leaf and cherry carving repeated. The back legs are straight with a subtle curved line. The chairs have GORGEOUS fabric. Though probably not original, it is quite nice and is expertly finished. The trim is an antique gold color and is quite striking. The chairs have are overstuffed with ample cushioning. This extends the fabric sections approximately 4" from the frames. The chairs are in very good condition. They are quite sturdy. As with most antique chairs of this period. They are not terribly heavy. There are a few small scuffs on the wood(as would be expected) which can be resolved with a simple touch up. There is nothing severe or distracting and the chairs look extremely nice. Antique Victorian Settee and 4 chair Rosewood Parlor Set
Item up for bid is an antique Victorian Rosewood Parlor Set. It includes the settee and four chairs. One with arms. There are two larger chairs and two smaller chairs. I do not know much about this set as it was inherited. I am unsure of its age. The frames of the settee and chairs all have patterns with grapes as can be seen in the pictures above. It is slightly different on the chairs than on the settee. Obviously the upholstery is of different colors, but could be reupholstered to match. The condition of the set is good. But it is in need of some repair. The back comes off of the largest chair. I included a picture, so you can see the pegs that hold it together. It looks as though there may have been some repairs to the settee and you can see scuff marks on it in the picture. The items do have scuff marks on them, and there is a chunk ... moreout of the bottom of the wood part of the settee. Some of the seams in the wood of the settee are off a bit too, I included a picture of that. The underside of a couple of the chairs have the fabric torn loose under them, so you can see inside the chair. There is a chip off of the top of one of the chairs as well, on the grape pattern. I included a picture of that. I am not an antique dealer. But I am describing them to the best of my ability.
